That All-Call Message

Has everyone been hearing the all-call being broadcast for the last 4 or 5 days on all channels every few hours?

It involves an attempted kidnapping of a young girl on the south side. The girl fought of/avoided capture by an unknown/masked individual who then left. The girl describes another girl, early teens, bound with tape and tied to the floor of the van.

Has anyone tied this "other girl" to an existing missing case? We're curious and a letter writer brought it to our attention that nothing in the all-call mentions the girl taped up as anything but a vehicle identifier. It's odd.

A question. Was the 'victim' late coming home from somewhere? Did she miss an appointment? In other words, was the 'attempt kidnapping' an excuse for being late or MIA and maybe not an attempt kidnapping at all?

Not that odd. I've heard heard sillier shit fabricated by female kidnap/CSA victims over the years and this one smacks of BS. I wish I had a dime for every "victim" that spins her yarn beginning with "he had a ski mask and duct tape..." I'll bet this is UNFOUNDED by weeks end.

Its almost identical to the homey the clown capper, anyone prior 1988 should remember that one. White van with a male black dressed as homey the clown tried to abduct a girl and a second female was observed in the van bound and gagged. All the gheto kids had fun telling whatever police they encounter that they just saw a van being driven by homey the clown, it was a month long farce that all began with a similar all call message.... History repeating itself???

Cool. So if we find a girl tied up in a van, it might mean this van is related to an attempted kidnapping? Wow.

Figure a week of investigation and the dick will be on to the next misdemeanor.

You will notice Gmac has not even chirped about this case on TV.

The all call was sent by the 3rd District Commander, maybe you should actually listen to it.

I totally understand that this looks like and smells of total nonsense. However, truth can be stranger than fiction. In three instances over the last 10 years I can think of child abductions in the U.S. where multiple people/children were taken. Can you imagine the proper outrage if we decided that it just couldn't be and we didn't act? More work needs to be done to see if they can verify or discount this very serious story. Go slow and evaluate.

Not to say it can't happen but ... Doesn't this the story sound kinda of Hollywood'esque.
1) ski mask
2) 2nd victim bound and gaged
3) cargo van

I mean there is some pretty savage people in 007 but historically doesn't the ski mask thing happen at night .. I mean driving past some one that was putting on a ski mask or wearing one in August is highly suspect. Even the ordinary citizen I think would take notice & call police.

Don't you have to disprove the kidnapping occurred BEFORE you cancel the message. Does sound like bullshit but you hair gels don't know what's going on with the investigation. After seeing some of your cases we get, maybe you should be the one to cast the first stone, you wipe.

I used to love breaking down victims till they confessed to me that my head was the biggest thing they'd ever seen.

it's a refined skill like knowing the exact drink on the breath of a passed out drunk, you have to drink as much as they do and newer drunks don't drink as much as I do.

I miss having anthing to do. I'm going to go get some pancakes in my old uniform and see if they'll still give me a break on the tab.

I think what was meant by having guts to get any age victim to admit he/she lied means a detective/ cop is going to have to deal with the parents (of minors) who usually defend their kids bullshit stories, and to deal with the advocates who don't think no 'victim' lies, and to deal with bosses who are so afraid and just want to hurry up and put the bulletin out to cover their ass. Getting the true story out of the victim ASAP saves a lot of unnecessary work and public panic. It's solving the case...not just suspending it, genius.
