- SCC: I would like to call your attention to the “Chicago Tonight – Week In Review” show that aired Friday at 7 p.m. on Channel 11.
One of the guests on the panel, Perri Small, from WVON Radio needs to be held accountable for slanderous remarks she made about white police officers. The panel was discussing the charges brought against Cmdr. Evans. Ms. Small said white police officers conduct themselves in the same manner as Cmdr. Evans everyday against black offenders by forcing their guns down offenders’ throats. She claimed if Cmdr. Evans was white, he would not have been charged.
For some reason, the host of the show, Joel Weisman, let her comments go unchecked. She made the remark at least twice. She also made other inaccurate and inflammatory comments. Consider the source, but it is unbelievable that anyone gives this biased agitator a platform.
Well, you know if Weisman said anything, he'd have the "RACISM" card pulled on his ass so fast, he'd get whiplash. It's fashionable to beat on the police you know. The truly sickening part of it all is that tax dollars pay for this PBS program - we're basically financing our own abuse.

Shouldn't this person be whisked into the Grand Jury to provide evidence and testimony, as to the specific details of these criminal acts?

Black conservatives, and black police officers that do their jobs are just at hated, or maybe moreso than whites. They are considered to be traitors to their race.
Perri is just one of the reasons I stopped listening to WVON.A few years back an alderman was interfering witn police while multiple people were being taken in custody at the Bud Biliken. They were talking about it and finally I called in and told them flat out an alderman has no business interfering with an arrest and they are only aggravating the scene and increasing distractions for the officers. They had a few people I liked but my favorite guy left. He was the one that coined the term "urban terrorist" and he used to make the callers so mad but he knew his stuff.
This is why I do NOT watch anything on WTTW, NOR do I ever send them any money for support.
They have an agenda????? That's putting it mildly.
Talk about a politically-correct panel. Watch Chicago Tonight. It used to be all the "experts" on a subject when John Calloway hosted it. (if it was an all-white male panel on an episode - at least they knew what they were talking about)
When Bob Sirrott was the host, it degenerated down to a "politically correct" panel of one female(black, white or Hispanic), one black male, and one Hispanic on most subjects whether they really knew the subject or not. (rarely would you see a two white males on a subject - let alone all 3)
With Ponce, it is more of the same.
The selection process is "politically correct" balance first, real expertise second.
You get more knowledge if you watch the Big Bang Theory at that time. At least Sheldon throws out some facts on science which is more than you'll ever get watching Chicago Tonight.

This show has really deteriorated. Used to watch it all the time, but now only once in awhile. It has become a "lecture" series for some guests........but at least we know what is being said on WVON. Lake front liberals don't have a clue.

You can say that again. Being rejected by your own is much harder than being rejected by others. They pretend like black conservatives don't exist but we are all over the place. We just don't get tv time. Black people are generally more conservative in private. They usually will talk among each other about who needs to get off their butt and get a job etc. but they shy away from that talk when "company" is around. Being liberal is more socially acceptable and it comes with little ostracism or isolation. I worked with at an organization staffed to the brim with white liberals and every day was a gag fest for me. The people they felt we were helping I felt we were enabling and unlike them I was born and raised in and around the city and in those neighborhoods...with those people.
She wants ice rinks in the hood to show the city the kids could to good in hockey, not just baseball. Well what about the library's in the hood.
You have to keep in mind that the black community in America is becoming irrelevant. The Hispanic community is growing by the day. This is a group that is sneaking in to our country to WORK. Soon they will make up a greater percentage of the population rendering the black community even more of a minority.
Maybe it's time for black America to take a look at themselves. The blame game ain't cutting it.

I stopped contributing to channel 11 a few years ago when they started to bring racist Mary from the sun-times on as a regular guest. I did watch this perri women from wvon and she is just a blow hard racist speaking to her ill informed audience . Spouting things that she has no evidence of what so ever. Yes, she takes the position that many progressives take, just fix the police and all will be well in the black community.

Still enjoy watching Chicago Tonight, but stopped watching Fridays when Joel Weisman hosts. This isn't the first incident where his guest has outspoken against whites while Joel just sits there. C'mon, any show that has Mary Mitchell as a regular guest can't be taken that seriously.

Don't you all know that if you are black and say something racist about white people, nobody blinks an eye over it, because it is every white persons fault that black people are held back, can't get jobs , etc. Well the main reason black folks don't have jobs is because they don't want a job, why work when you can be a mooch. Get up in the morning and go out and look for a job, don't expect to get a job in the afternoon hours ,when you wake up after a hard night of drinking, smoking weed and stealing. I have a friend, now a former friend, who believes all the crap the liberal crowd has written about Michael Brown. The guy is 60, like me, and actually thinks an on-duty Ferguson, MO police officer shot and killed an unarmed teenager trying to surrender. He refuses to believe the robbery of the convenience store or the photos that shows behemoth with the gun, money, vodka etc. Photoshop he says.
This is unbelievable. I've been friends with this guy for near 40 years. No more. I am astounded he believes this shit, just flabbergasted. He isn't a classic lakefront liberal either. He is a blue collar liberal. I called him a stupid fool and I guess that is that. I can't listen to that shit any more. I wonder what he thinks I've been doing on the police department for 30 years. Watched a great special about Old St Pat's Church on WTTW. Thought about buying the DVD. Now that I read this post, I'm glad I didn't. I won't give any money to those scumbags at WTTW who promote race baiting.
I totally disagree. The reason he was able to kick around gang bangers all these years is because he's black.
So everyone is either saying Evans deserves this or is the best cop in the world. I can tell you this I work in 011 and Evans when he first came in was great! He got rid of Sgt. AZ and almost Sgt. JT. He got rid of Lt. JA and actually cared for the most part for the PO’s. BUT! His mistakes are brining in 1100X and Sgt King! The problem was the walls seemed to be closing in on him. He kept blaming PO’s for each shooting and sgt’s. He would of rather played street police (which ok I get but….) but he needed to be an administrator and not let the 1100X run the show. That was his biggest downfall in 011. Also 3rd watch was great when JT was dumped of 1130 and 1120 was gone! But we have two merit hack Lt’s on our watch that both cannot be trusted to speak up or even know what it is they are doing! One Lt DM thinks is the smartest person in the world and is NEVER wrong and the other just goes with what she says. Both have NO clue about the stuff they say to us in roll call. The best they think we are dumb and think there BS will fly with us. They NEVER stick up for us because of the Capt. So ok we were told we are doing the best job BUT when asked about getting time due its DENIED!!! So why would we want to do anything! Hey Lt. DM YES there are a lot of par forms put in just like last time too! Oh but you didn’t see many people on the order last time but there were a ton!!!!!! They just didn’t get the bids. Why do you think the bosses came in. They saw all the par forms from 3rd watch. Then you guys stick up for 1130 who now has a chip on his solider.
Its said what happen to the Cmdr. That’s a fact. Whats also said is that Cmdr Washington had to come back again. I really feel sorry for him. I hope he can have 1100X moved and both our merit Lt’s move onto better places so that Lt DM can try to get that gold star she wants SOOOO bad and will step on us to get it.

Funny thing I was watching a news "show" and they had an interview with the leader of the Catholic Church on the south side, fr. Flakes. He said that they will fix the Police? The man is an expert about everything but who is "they" and why does anyone listen to him? I turned it off!
The other know it all asshole that sat there with his big mouth shut for once was Jim Litke of the Associated Press. Litke likes to brag about his girlfriend that's on the job, but now he won't defend her or the CPD! What a useless J O!

We have a question for Mary Mitchell, Neil Steinberg, Mark Brown, Eric Zorn and the rest of the joyful haters including the usual coterie of tragedy pimps, drive-by clergy like Phleger et al. and other such who are at war against The Police and any meaningful public safety/law enforcement response as an answer to the culture of death, willful ignorance and abdicated responsibility that is endemic to the large, democrat run urban areas of this country...
Once you people finally decide that you've won in the 40+ year progressive effort to "fix" The Police, what then?
How will everyone know that you've "won?"
What will your having "won" consist of?

You have a right to not like your superiors, but don't tell outright lies about being denied time due. 3rd Watch in 011 gets more time off approved than any watch in the District and Area. The "merit hack Lts" have accommodated most all of the requests submitted. If not full, partial time and extensions on furloughs. The thread here is about a radio talk show host. Stay on point.
