Reports from the Lieutenants Union that they are once again collecting dues contributions from the check of one Lt. Glenn Evans, meaning he is no longer a commander.
Interestingly, the word is that the former (and current lieutenant) declined to keep his PBPA membership active upon making commander rank, so the union allegedly isn't paying for the defense costs for his current troubles.
It would seem that McCompStat's rock-solid faith in his hand-picked loose cannon has collapsed.

Yep. Even the rats that don gold stars jump ship when the likelihood of going down with it becomes more and more of a reality.
McSecondMarriage has aspirations post-CPD and can't have the baggage that is Glenn Evans, especially with the current anti-police atmosphere the highest it's been since the infamy that was Rodney King.
If Evans is smart he'll fade away into obscurity regardless of the outcome of his trial(s).

I don't believe that the Lt.'s union would have paid for a defense for criminal charges anyway.
Glenn was never big on important details.
He'll be ok he owns several multi unit sect 8 bldgs in the south side ghettos on top of raking in 160k for a few years as a DC. Oh yeah I almost forgot that a few of his hard charging Koolaid drinkers in 011 were taking up a collection raffle for him about a week after he got stripped too. I don't pity a man that's not smart enuf to clean his gun after tickling someone's tonsils with or smart enough to pay the few bucks a year to the union for legal representation in cases like this. I mean come on!!! How many OTHER lawsuits and complaints is he a part of for brutality and stupid shit?!?! Even the dumbest dude knows he needs liability insurance so the police won't tow his ride every time he gets behind the wheel. And Evans wants to command a district full of a ton of impressionable hair gels???? Force him out Garry before he ruins a non clouted cops life that stands to lose everything if he were to be accused of what a clouted up gold star did supposedly
Perhaps any other Lts, and any Sgts or Capts too cheap to pay their Union dues should reconsider.

Hey SCC, is fop making some back room agreement with the city which violates the rights of the BARGAINING members of the CPD in the 005th district? I mean re pick new furlos, new DOG's, no more 3rd watch, spending breakfast, lunch and dinner at work, moving your start times more than 2 hrs in violation of the just voted on FOP contract? This is the city's ways of eliminating a watch, doing more with less, more works days, using a lot of time due to take a day off, less vacation time, good luck going to,court and then going to work at 1800 till 0430 hrs.... Or 2000 till 0630 and they still call it third watch? Where's fop on this? This is a disaster in the making.....

Between 75-80% of the guys/gals what this in 005. When it went into effect some years back in Housing no one wanted it either. A year later you next a phone call to get into housing.

The same Housing where you could work a double and sleep both shifts? Not a good comparison.
75-80% of guys/gals in 005 want to spend as many days away from that shit hole as possible, and the 10-hour schedule gives that but little else. Better to go back to rotating watches if this nonsense is implemented.
Glenn was an 80s cop, the only thing he did wrong was not buy a calendar. This is not the 80s, or 90s for that matter. He should had just relaxed, wait a minute till he got his 29... Then high tailed it to Florida, "yeah, just send my indictment down here, I don't live in that shithole town anymore"

Good Guy, but knows absolutely zero about how to manage a district or unit, to be a competent leader, you must know the rules and regulations and how to deal with the politicians but be firm with them and not let them think that you work for them. his problem was and still is , is that a lot of the African American bosses think that they can rule their own people, but forget that they are hated as much by their own as they hate the white officers.
