Rahm by 16%?

  • A new weekly mayoral poll ahead of the April 7 runoff election shows Mayor Rahm Emanuel is continuing to gain further separation from his challenger, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia.

The Ogden and Fry poll conducted Saturday among 951 likely voters shows Emanuel getting support from 48.5 percent of those polled, while Garcia comes in at 32.1 percent. A large number of those polled — 18.4 percent — say they’re still undecided. The poll has a margin of error of 3.24 percentage points.
This is the fourth poll since Rahm's embarrassment and he still can't crack the 50% barrier? Ogden and Fry are hedging their bets (and potentially, their reputation as a polling entity) by noting that “turnout and the under-polling Hispanic vote are two factors to still consider." No shit.

We know we've been doing our part, lying to two different pollsters who managed to call. But everyone is going to have to vote, and polls open for early balloting tomorrow. Time to make Rahm sweat.

So former NYC mayor Bloomberg has been sued for putting in bike lanes and bike rental stations without doing a required environmental impact study. Seems the reduced flow of traffic means vehicles take longer to get to their destinations which in turn dumps mega volumes of additional noxious gases into our air. Ohhhh Raaaaahm, did you do the required environmental impact study before you fucked up our streets. Hmmmmm!?

These dirty fucks are trying to spin a narrative
That Rahm has an insurmountable lead and that
everybody should just quit and stop agitating
against Rahm because he's so smart and is such
a financial whiz and has so many outsider millionaires and
billionaires trying to make sure the Chicago churls don't
do something unseemly like showing Rahm Von Weasel's narrow ass the door...

Especially before the pesky federal statute of limitations runs out.

They fear a mayor that isn't Rahm.
They fear a mayor who might put the neighborhoods and working people first over corporate give-aways.

May their fears be realized.

These poll numbers are bullshit...

We're on these streets and the word and mood on the streets say Rahm is in big fucking trouble no matter how much money he spends, what kind of lies he tell
to get re-elected...

In the popular media they keep saying that we have a lack of people in science and engineering and that is why we need to either outsource those jobs or bring in highly skilled foreign workers. I keep getting calls from the Garcia campaign, not only urging me to vote for Chuy but trying to extract a solemn promise that I will do so.

I told them "Look, I don't like Rahm but Chuy doesn't look like any great prize either. Give me a reason to vote for him." The guy on the line hesitated, and then asked, "What's your biggest worry about the city right now?" I said, "Crime," and he said "Chuy's promised to hire more policemen."

I was making supper and didn't have any more time to chat, so I ended the conversation there.

As a Judge of Election I will be working on April 7; I'll be curious to see how many people actually show up to vote.

Chuy dropped the ball during this whole process. No concrete plans and evasive answers.

We all hate Rahm. But a small vocal group of officers will demand we endorse Chuy no matter how bad he's going to lose and if FOP does not they will be called sellouts.

But there is no way we should endorse Rahm. Anyone who endorses Rahm is a sellout to the democratic machine.

There are three choices:

1. Endorse Chuy the loser.
2. Endorse Rahm the likely winner.
3. Or no endorsement.

The smart move would be to endorse the winner. But I hate the guy.

I say NO ENDORSEMENT!!!

ow Long will we linger in this prison, our federal, state, county and city legislators/elected officials have created for us?? What else would you call our situation where the 1 per-centers and the 47 per-centers get 50% of our tax dollars while paying only 10% of what we pay in taxes. We are the prisoners and the wardens are the elected officials who keep the 1 per-centers and 47 per-centers out of prison in exchange for their campaign contributions (paid for by tax breaks disguised as job creation incentives)and their votes respectively. There needs to be a prison revolt where all prisoners are expected to contribute equally and a retroactive law where all compensation and benefits enhancements passed to benefit the wardens is passed on to all who work for a living, even the prisoners!!!! I'm ready for a jailbreak!!! Creative financing so we can take more taxpayer money and enrich our banking industry friends who will enrich our campaign fund AKA our personal piggy bank or golden parachute. This has to end and hopefully the outcome will be much different than the credit default swap scandal of our financial system where nobody has gone to jail and again the taxpayers footed the bill. How much more abuse can we take????

I am not buying the argument that Garcia has run a poor campaign; he was a late entry into the race and he outperformed the polls in the initial vote.

Garcia has not had the cash advantages available to Rahm Emanuel who wasted millions of dollars without receiving a majority in February. Even if Emanuel pulls out the run-off, he may be considered damaged goods in terms of future prospects. Nobody likes the man -- period. All of his supporters are mercenaries who have been bought and paid for.

18% Undecided can be enough to induce panic attacks and to tune up the Emanuel trolls who are posting on a blog that they once threatened to shut down.

Ordinarily, undecided poll respondents who do cast ballots go against incumbents.

Crony capitalism hooks us up with thieving bankers and politicians fucking us with those possibly illegal "swaps" and when we get sick of it all and try to throw the yolk off of being led by the suck-holes who put us in such a spot, that same family of suck-holes jam their hand deeper down our pocket by double downgrading the city's debt rating, when it looks like Rahm is going to lose.

Why listen to bullshit polls. First of all how do compare all voters to maybe 1000 that were polled?? What if they stood in front of rahm headquarters and polled rahm supporters only?? Wouldn't that show a higher percent for rahm? I've never been polled, nor has anybody in my family and quess what, none of us are voting for rahm. Stop listening to polls. Especially if you only talk to maybe 1000 out of let's say a million possible voters. just like comstat any numbers and percentages can fit the agenda!!!

You sound like a moron. Yea polls stand in front of a candidates headquarters and take polls. There is a scientific was of taking polls, they can only poll so many people so they do a cross section of the voters of Chicago. Polling companies don't survive because they cant predict elections.

I'm going with the guy from St. Rita, who at least is from here.He may not have all the answers, but can at least be held in check for 4 years.Give rahm another 4, and the tentacles will go deeper than the daley crime family.Sorry for the rant.Just my 2 cents.

Also, if you like Richard Daley and wish he were still mayor, Rahm is your guy. Remember that Rahm got his start in Chicago politics (after studying ballet), by raising millions for Richard M. Daley and his machine's war chest in 1991.

Stroger's son was brought in by and with the support of, Daley's machine while John Stroger's corpse had given Forrest Claypool a clear shot at the primary run for C.C Board Pres.

Claypool was told to stand down by RAHM, who promised him a spot via Axelrod in the Obama admin.

Claypool got the shaft. Rahm had bigger plans.

Daley's bills and promises have yet to be paid.

Chuy can't win, even if he gets more votes. This is Chicago. Big financiers are waiting to get the interest due on all those junk bonds they keep underwriting for this city. Plus there's all those land deals that didn't work out so well when Obama blew the olympic bid...

DIRECTLY FROM RAHM'S WEBSITE, READ BELOW: If you vote for him, well, you probably voted Yes for our generous contract too.

Second Chance Program

Recognizing that returning citizens often need help to prevent a return to crime after leaving the incarceration system, Rahm expanded job training to 2,200 former prisoners.

He quadrupled the CTA’s “Second Chance” program, providing transit jobs to 265 people with non-violent criminal records. Rahm supported a successful bill in Springfield to automatically expunge juvenile records for young people who have been arrested but never charged with a crime.

And Rahm has called upon state legislators to follow Chicago’s lead and reform sentencing laws for low-level drug offenses, keeping non-violent offenders from a lifetime in the criminal justice system, saving taxpayer dollars, and allowing police to focus on more serious crimes.

Lastly, Rahm passed an ordinance that will ensure that more returning citizens receive a fair shot at jobs by prohibiting all businesses in Chicago from asking job applicants about their criminal backgrounds until they’ve determined that a candidate is qualified.

Polls can be wrong: Eric Cantor, R-Virginia, majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives was told by his pollsters he was up by 20-30 percent. But he ended up losing by 11 percent. Because voter turnout INCREASED by 50 percent. This was huge upset in June of 2014. Here is the link:

Some of the coppers that are voting for RAHM can't even keep their own finances in their home in order that's why they depend on VRI special etc... Keep working because when ur not home I get to bone ur wife, girlfriend, mother, daughter cause I do know how to take care of my finances.

706 votes at 41 ward, Rodden Library Tuesday, with a additional 75-100 leaving without voting. Not good for Rahm or Mary Oconnor. Usually voting decreases in runoff, just the opposite. Over 1100 votes in two bad weather days, unbelievable!! These numbers are never good for incumbents.

City finances continue their free fall, have to wonder if the mayor can keep his finger in the dike until the election. Because those ultra risky credit swaps have cost the city millions, thanks to the mayor's friend David Vitale. The mayor later appointed him President of CPS where more risky credit swaps have sent CPS finances into the abyss. CPS bonds were downgraded a week ago. There was a crisis in the bond market yesterday (Monday) when CPS bonds were put up for sale (to cover losses) but no one wanted to buy them. That was yesterday. Please post if anyone has updates.

This crisis is caused by high risk investing, by the mayor and his banker friends. But they will blame it on the pensions.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

If you love Obama, vote for Rahm. The president of the United States came to town just to help this city mayor get re-elected. It's good to know things are going smoothly running the nation that he had time to turn the office of President into campaign worker for the likes of Rahm Emmanuel.

Also, if you like Richard Daley and wish he were still mayor, Rahm is your guy. Remember that Rahm got his start in Chicago politics (after studying ballet), by raising millions for Richard M. Daley and his machine's war chest in 1991.

If you think polls mean nothing and aren't accurate think of the first mayoral election. Polls predicted Rahm would receive 44% of the vote.
What did he get 43%?

All the undecideds went against Rahm last month. All of them.

Do you realize how stupid you sound? ALL of the undecided went against him. 50 thousand plus votes and all went against Rahm. You have to be kidding.

Just voted today for Anthony Napolitano and Chuy at Rdden Library on Northwest Highway. People lined up on this shitty day. Talked to a lot Of people, all voting for Napolitano. Nobody was taking OConnors handouts. Get out the vote, this is our opportunity to get rid of that useless Oconnor and her buddy Rahm. Heard their was around 450 early voters today at Rodden. People are very mad and want change!!!

3/24/2015 02:33:00 AM

Great information. You heard 450 voters other guy says 250.
All voting for Napolitano? thats great I've never seen an election won by 100% of the vote. Even Putin can't pull that off in the Soviet Union.
Don't think I'll have to vote, save me a trip if he lready had ALL the votes, he sure doesn't need mine.

Obama did not know Rahm was going to mess up like he did and you could tell from his body language when he came to Chicago to endorse Rahm that he was disgusted with his actions.

Our mayor has a long history of spending big money on political consultants/P.R. strategists and pollsters. One service these consultants provide is "paid influencers". Usually called trolls, but they are paid by P.R> agencies to sit at their computers for hours, create a number of profiles and post comments everywhere to benefit the client. Another strategy is to get blogs such as this one taken down altogether.

Re: My Porsche 944 Turbo

No. That was my new Porsche 922 which was a total loss due to an Act of God (flooding). With insurance monies, I bought the top-of-the-line 944 Turbo. While my thanks go to SCC for publishing my above post, a CPD member with prior knowledge is now the happy owner of my "pocket rocket chick magnet". Rock on!
