Nice Weekend There, Gar
Cold, windy, a few flurries, and a body count that rivals some states:
- Chicago suffered a deadly weekend as four people were killed and at least 13 others injured in violence throughout the Chicago area.
A 30-year-old man was shot to death at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 8800 block of South Wood in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Alexander Colon was standing on the back porch of a home when he was struck by a bullet in his chest, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Colon, who lived in the same block, was pronounced dead on the scene.
A 23-year-old woman has died after she was shot in the head while riding in a car at about 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Delia Colunga was shot near 109th Street and Green Bay Avenue, police said. Colunga was transported to Advocate Trinity Hospital where she died Sunday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Normal folks (or people) standing or walking around catching bullets. And summer right around the corner.

I bet Rahm would give his polling numbers a needed kick in the ass if he names a new police superintendent right now. Somebody the public recognizes and the rank and file knows and trusts and can get behind.
This Garry McCarthy experiment has gone on long enough. Rahm has to realize it is an abject failure.
An excellent choice would be Bill Kushner, retired CPD Lt. and current Des Plaines Chief and former Berwyn Chief.
What am I talking about? That would make sense. Bill would tall Rahm to shove his job up his ass. Rahm isn't worth a pimple on a policeman's ass.
Sorry. Where's the Jack Daniels?
It's open warfare out there and some people are just too dangerous to let live. They are the ones that get shot down.
This news can't be good for tourism.
A 23 year old was shot and killed near 80th and Kedzie on Friday around noon. Not one mention of this in the news. What ever happened to shooting your rival gangmember after dark. RIP Lil Mike.
"Chicago suffered a deadly weekend as four people were killed and at least 13 others injured in violence throughout the Chicago area."
August headlines in March at 32 degrees.
Better close the beaches.
The police are just not up to it anymore.
Is this more black on black violence? I thought there was institutional racism to blame. Or lack of jobs and opportunity? Or the guns?
How can you get everything handed to you for free from diapers to diplomas and still be in ghettoes?
Is it warm out?
I like how the narrative goes like "just standing on his porch, or just sitting in the car." What they forget to mention is that the asshole on the back porch was shot some other asshole last week. And the girl just sitting in the car full of gang members who last night shot up the rivals block. Very few victims in this city are truly innocent bystanders.

Short but very true statement, and why are we "not up to it?"
1) Ferguson lies?
2) Virginia tech thug lies?
3) No bosses that lead?
4) camaraderie Yep OK?
5) No support?
6) Complete lapdog media?
7) Pension being depleted?
8) Union leader Dean?
9) Down how many thousand coppers?
10) take thug to court waste of time?
11) no support from elected?
12) listening to radio now they are saying Chicago police officers conducted 3/4 % of stops not arrested and were black? How are them contact cards now boss?
13) And on and on!!
I knew it was somebody's fault.
This is all Garry's fault!
Good to see spring training in full swing - can;t wait for the regular season to start
Rahman must be Chewing at his fingertips.

Another nice neighborhood the savages have ruined. When I was a kid 40+ years ago, my Mom would take us on the Kedzie bus to the Marquette theater.
