Forty Shot?
Another chilly spring weekend in Chicago and 40 people managed to get shot (6 died) according to the HeyJackass.com website (if we're reading it correctly.)
Of the 40, one was a police involved shooting, which we don't think should count. Another was the Concealed Carrier shooting, which we also think shouldn't be counted. If it wasn't in the commission of a crime, it tends to skew the stats - although, in light of nearly 600 people shot this year (and a 25% increase in homicides as of yesterday), we don't suppose it amounts to anything more than a rounding error at the end of the year.
Remember, crime is down!

I would say 40 people shot in one city over a weekend represents a small to medium war. It certainly doe not represent a lowered crime rate. There sure are a lot of disgruntled and unhappy people in Chicago this year.

40 Forty! If this was a business the top bosses and their gold star appointees would be thrown in the street! What dies Cpd do? Hmm shuffle many around to have them keep their huge God star pension draining salary, they are rewarded, while the blue shirt coppers are as usual blamed for everything! Forget that we are how many thousand below strength? The big classes 85,86,87 leaving in droves, will they hire? Will rahms don't what is correct and fund the 550 million payment due this year? Or will the rahms and his city council continue to payout millions in underserved ghetto lottery money? The latter is correct! Keep paying the taxes lemmings and not get services is the motto!!

No Riccio was promoted remember, so noone to continue with Mc Carthy's creative homicide numbers. Good job Deputy Chief turned Chief, but you should have probably schooled the guy that took your place on your antics. Chicago Magazine may have to follow up on that story, but then again the two Detectives that blew the whistle denied Knowles and retired. Access restrictions are in place now per Chief Tracy so no further facts surrounding our own level of internal creative number counting (corruption) can be overlooked.
What's happening now, that 100 million dollar a year VRI box plan not working well enough? What a joke. City of Chicago you should have learned by now, with this guy in power, your city will continue to turn to shit. But maybe he will fake marital problems and a heart attack again for more time in. I bet the city didn't see that coming.

the hey jackass website was interesting. Highlights, the number of shootings in the junk and ass graphs. Scariest graph, less than 33% of the homicides result in an arrest (who knows what the conviction rate is from there). I understand what goes on in the hood with the shootings, but my question is, if a regular tax paying citizen gets shot should we expect the same arrest rates? I hope not, otherwise we are really on our own in this city.

Don't forget to use your handheld pedestrian-crossing pennant and put it back in the holder after you cross the street. (Did those things even last a week?)
The real concern should be where have 4000+ Policemen disappeared to since 1995.
