God Bless America... Fly the Flag Today

....and everyday

The big story today should be the hacktavist breach of CPD data systems of all of our Personnel files and publishing them online. As I understand it the information includes all current officers names, DOBs, addresses, phone numbers, spouses, house information, salary and social media pages. The hacktavists demand that officers involved in the death of an some offender be prosecuted.

SCC, have you seen the cyber-threat which also includes the names of coppers, their personal info and their relative's names? Seems 35th St was too concerned with us covering our tattoos than protecting our info. Question is, why didn't we get notified about it...it's been out since July 2nd!

Would you guys write this ticket?

My nephew and his family are going home from a fireworks celebration when he runs into a seatbelt mission checkpoint in a northern suburb. Unbeknownst to him his eight year old daughter who was sitting in the third row of his minivan took her seatbelt off, layed down and fell asleep. The policeman sees her as he approaches and ends up writing him a seatbelt violation. The next day he is beefin to me about it and I tell him to stfu but it got me thinking. Was it really a fair ticket. It was dark, he didn't know what the kid had done as when they started driving the kid was belted in and he is driving home through an area he wasn't familar with. So I'm asking you guys. Would you have written him? I don't think I would have. Before you tell me how the copper saved the kids life, yada, yada, yada,I know,I know.

Would I write the ticket? Not normally, but it was a seatbelt MISSION. So, yes, I probably would have.

But, really -- yada, yada, yada, when we're talking about an eight year old's LIFE? Not to mention the projectile that eight year old's body becomes, making her a 75lb object that slams into everyone else, in the case of a crash.

Your nephew needs to realize he IS responsible for those in his vehicle, most especially the youngest ones. Oh, and being in an unfamiliar area has zero to do with this issue.

Man dies after shooting off firework from top of his head, police say

Published July 05, 2015

"CALAIS, Maine – A young man who was drinking and celebrating the Fourth of July tried to launch a firework off the top of his head, fatally injuring himself, authorities said Sunday.

"Devon Staples and his friends had been drinking and setting off fireworks Saturday night in the backyard of a friend's home in the small eastern Maine city of Calais, said Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety. Staples, 22, of Calais, placed a fireworks mortar tube on his head and set it off, he said.

"The firework exploded, killing Staples instantly, McCausland said.

"His death is the first fireworks fatality in Maine since the state legalized fireworks on Jan. 1, 2012, authorities said..."

Spending tens of millions on a bigger Ferris wheel will take care of this.

Seriously -- these lakefront events will die off on their own. Do you think that the people who were beaten and groped by the animals off the Red Line will ever come back to Chicago if they can help it?

...and one person will tell ten people what happened. Ten will tell 100, etc.

River Grove shot a really fine show...and there was plenty of other various municipal and neighborhood snap-crackle-pop to entertain. Just fireworks, no gunshots or screaming or anything. Didn't spend a penny in Chicago; just stood at the window of my Private Sky Box with a fine 180-degree view, having a cold one and enjoying the whole spectacle in perfect safety, with a complete snack kitchen and clean bathroom just feet away.

Still have my wallet, phone, etc. and no cuts or bruises. Who needs that s__t?

Butcher's bill coming over the radio now -- at least 50 people shot in Chicago, nine fatally. Nice.

Man mocks alligators, jumps in water and is killed in Texas

Sat July 4, 2015

"(CNN)A man who apparently mocked alligators, then jumped in the water -- despite warning signs -- is dead after being attacked in Texas.

"Orange County Police were called to Burkart's Marina near the Louisiana state line early Friday morning after reports that Tommie Woodward, 28, and an unidentified woman were swimming in a bayou and had been attacked by a large alligator.

"Woodward's body was found several hours later. The woman was not injured.

"Orange County Justice of the Peace Rodney Price told CNN affiliate KFDM that Woodward ignored verbal warnings and a posted "No Swimming Alligators" sign and seemed to mock the deadly creatures before going in the water.

"He removed his shirt, removed his billfold ... someone shouted a warning and he said 'f__k the alligators' and jumped in to the water and almost immediately yelled for help," Price said.

The "No Swimming -- Alligators" sign was posted this week after a 10-foot alligator was spotted in the bayou waters.

"Please do not go swimming, there's a big alligator out here. Just please stay out of the water," witness and marina employee Michelle Wright said she told Woodward.

"She said the next thing she heard was the woman screaming, "An alligator's got him." Wright said she used a flashlight in the darkness to scan the water.

"I saw his body floating face down. And then he's out there for a couple of seconds and then he's dragged back down. And then he comes back up still face down and then he gets pulled down again. And then he just disappears..."
