See if you can do some real journalism and put these pieces together:
- Rauner is looking to reduce prison population by 25% and gassing them isn't on the table, meaning he's going to release them back into society;
- Cook County has been trying to do their part by releasing anyone and everyone back into society with low bails and reduced sentencing, to the point of violating state laws by sending ineligible people to Boot Camp;
- CPD hasn't kept up with retirements for a decade now and we're 2,000 to 4,000 officers short of what we were when the 1990's were rolling along (depending on who's numbers you believe);
- CPD is currently running a number of overtime initiatives in distressed areas of the city - the same areas that many of these newly freed prisoners will be returning to...areas already known to have a high number of open air drug markets, felons with self control problems, guns and daily violence as a matter of course;
- the media fosters an anti-police attitude among the populace, even when such incidents are proven, time and again, to be illusory at best, lies at worst, even in the case of a mentally ill woman committing suicide.
Now go do some research and come up with something better than that piece of crap from the other day about how Chicago leads the nation in numbers of offenders killed by the police. It might actually look like you tried to be journalists.

Maybe you just didn't understand the BGA piece! CPD is the best trained in the country. Threaten a Chicago Police Office with a weapon and their training will defeat Your attack before you can injurer the officer. Most-times causing death to the attacker. The BGA has no interest whatsoever in journalism. They're only interested in three things:
1) fundraising
2) creating eye popping headlines by twisting raw data to make local governments look bad

Hey BGA Address the issues (WHY) 100's of homicides and shootings happen every year by the so called friendly neighborhoods of the south side and west sides and, instead of calling the offenders VICTIMS, you should be asking (WHY) were they shot and (WHY) were the offenders out committing crimes, oh yeah and (WHY) were many back out on the street on probation or repeated offenders when they should be doing time behind bars for years. I actually do like the BGA and many of the things that they do. But, I have found out that there are some issues that they do not want to tackle, for reasons unknown to me. But, I can only guess that they do not want to rattle the system too much, as they are very deep into fund raising. I have not read their article on police shootings, but I will. No one wants to address the real issues of the black community and that is behavior. It is easier to blame the police, the white man, the establishment etc. etc etc. Yes, there is racism out there and plenty of it on both sides of the coin as anyone who as worked for black bosses can tell you. But, I suspect that black behavior is behind a lot of this as people are tired of the BS.

The real reason for this 'comment' is to commend some of your officers on a job well done. My bag was taken from North Ave Beach two weekends ago and two CPD officers on 4-wheelers helped me find my bag. My phone was still in the bag which was a huge lifesaver. Didn't hurt that both of the policemen were cute and funny.

Actually they do have a few investigators, but you are correct in saying that they do not do " real" investigative work. It is all about fund raising. I gave them some really solid information about how the clouted ones are raking in money on the backs of our youth helping to corrupt them and they ignored it. All they had to do was go and take a look for themselves. That is when I lost respect for them. They just like to hold fund raising dinners

Try driving around this area around 2am. Unbelievable how drunk and stupid these people act. Then they engage these vultures. Offer to buy them food, booze and even invite them to "party" with them. I'm not say they deserve to be beaten or robbed but come on have some common sense. Walk home in groups. Make sure your friends get home safely. Maybe don't drink until you can not even walk or remember where you live.

What basis would FOP have to sue? Pensioners are being paid the full amount due them on time.
maybe if there was language in the contract requiring the city to fund the pension plan appropriately, but absent that, no one has been harmed (at least not yet), and pretty much the way it works legally is no harm, no lawsuit.
The recently buried suicide victim's family will file a huge suit, even in the face of their privately ordered autopsy and claim the police were negligent in not watching her after she indicated she was suicidal (sp?) after losing a child in pregnancy months before. Once again, it's the police's fault.

Watched how the so called "police chief" said his officer was young and basically did not know any better! Lets talk here can we? You stop a know thug, of course arrest history and he refuse a lawful police order to open the car window, letting the officer in hell like heat stand outside and try to talk to the pos! That was a long news story on "Chicago very own" channel 9 news, in same hour channel 7 had more anti-police stories that thug not long ago would of had window smashed out and been in jail, bet the thugs got a great laugh out of this! The next copper may not be so fortunate the thugs are emboldened the poliec are scene as the enemy and played with, as the sheep get slaughtered in the inner cities by thugs like this!

The officer DID NOT have his emergency lights activated, hence no yielding required.
