Overdoses Again

Hope you didn't need an ambulance Thursday:
  • Police are investigating a spike in drug overdoses on the Chicago's West Side.

At least 23 people have been taken to area hospitals in the last 24 hours after using heroin, police said.

Dr. Tarlan Hedayati at Stroger Hospital is alarmed because the standard treatment for heroin overdoses isn't immediately working.

"Typically if it's given by the paramedics, we may not need to give it again in the emergency department. But we're noticing we were giving more in the emergency department to these patients," Dr. Hedayati said.

The DEA is helping police try to track down the source of the bad batch of drugs.
Sure, if the DEA is on the case, they can just wrap-up the entire heroin network! No more drug problem.

And the Channel 7 headline was priceless:
One of these brainiacs want to tell us exactly what "good" heroin looks like?

Do you guys remember a few years ago the spike in OD's in 011? Our fearless bosses wanted us to find out where the bad HairRON came from. I said at roll call, "from the drug dealers on the west side, on all the corners". Watch commander didn't like the answer.

What the fuck do they expect the cops to do? Give me a freaking break. Just like rap song say, I dont give a fuck, I dont give a fuck fuck!!!

The fact is if the heroin is not cut as much, and the junkie takes his/her usual dose, they overdose. So this "bad heroin" may in fact be "good heroin". But we all know that anyway. I am preaching to the choir.

Off white or kind of tan in color, Dissolves as soon as it hits the water/cooks up a gold type of color and leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside like mama's kisses and granny's chocolate chip cookies *drooling and nodding*

/sarcasm

Ever been driving in 011 and seen some dope leaning like that tower in Pisa? Congratulations! DING DING DING DING DING!!! You've found someone who's seen good heroin!!

I beg to differ with you SCC but Hosa Sanders from channel 7 knows exactly what good heroin looks like, his ir# proves it. Remember SCC when he got busted buying the shit on the westside and then checked into rehab. So I would say channel 7 has quite the expert in Mr. Sanders.

Maybe they should call this stuff "El Chappo's Revenge".

"Overdoes Again" Some year ago we spent a lot of time and resources trying to track down heroin that was killing people. But as I recall the problem was the dope was cut with the wrong kind of chemicals. If the problem here is that the dope s just too strong it will attract a whole lot more fools to try it out.

Sweet Dreams Y'all....Forever

April 2005 through December 2006 saw a particularly good run for West Side "Herron", as it was heavily stepped on with fentanyl.

I say it was a 'good run' in that during this same time frame, the Medical Examiner's office identified 342 fentanyl-related fatalities.

Fentanyl saved the taxpayers untold fortunes as it cleansed from the Gene Pool a good number of unsalvageable souls that would've only further burdened the taxpayers with maintaining their existence.

Personally, I welcome the resurgence of "bad" heroin. May it make the last "epidemic" look like child's play when it comes to fatal overdoses. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Same shit: Bad dope fuckin up dopers on the wesside.
Naturally, it became our charge to find the bad dope.
I never understood why we should give a rat's ass that dope addicts were dying.
I dunno...fewer druggies stealing and committing other crimes to feed their addiction?
I saw that as a win.

Bad heroin? It most be really good. I heard from a paramedic that on two separate occasions hypes were going through the pockets of the guy who overdosed, presumably to find his good dope. "I gots to get me some of dat! It almost killed my man." I'm sure it's got a morbid name like WMD or Grim Reaper or Anal Destruction.

I know I AM ANGRY NOW! What the hell does that mean?

Lets makes a task force and we will send a Detective to every overdose in the city and that dick will generate a nice lengthy report about oddball junkies buying habits.

The dick can then track every gun found which was another clouted units job but they seem not to be up to the task.

Naloxone, a Drug to Stop Heroin Deaths, Is More Costly, the Police Say

By J. DAVID GOODMAN NOV. 30, 2014

"This year, police departments across the country, including in New York City, announced plans to stock up on a medication that reverses the effects of a heroin or opioid painkiller overdose.

"The move signaled a shifting approach for officers more accustomed to fighting drug abuse with arrests than with a medical antidote.

"But police and public health officials from New York to San Francisco are facing sticker shock: Prices for a popular form of the medication, naloxone, are spiking, in some cases by 50 percent or more.

“It’s not an incremental increase,” said Chuck Wexler, the executive director of the Police Executive Research Forum and a proponent of putting the lifesaving drug into officers’ hands. “There’s clearly something going on.”

The junkies will get their free ride in a C.F.D. ambulance. Unlike a poor stiff who has assets a job or some methods of payment and credit history, these scumbags will not get one of those payment for ambulance service payment letters from the city. The city does a good job via a private collection agency who to charge for the ambulance ride. The working stiff pays taxes to fund the fire department but in an absolute insult then gets another bill for public ambulance service. The working stiff pays the freight all the way around. Thanks democrats. Not to mention the free hospital care and all the resources that go along with a decision to consume an illegal substance in the commission of a conscious unlawful action.

It used be the easiest way to kill a heroin junkie was to give them heroin as opposed to the cut down crap they are used to. Now through the miracles of science they may have come up with a hybrid heroin more dangerous than the real thing.

I read a report that said in the bad old days most NYC heroin was cut down to morphine strength or less by the time it wound up in some junkies arm.

Personally I think this is a self solving problem. Every time they score fentyl they make it harder for someone who actually needs it to get any. The sooner they are out of circulation the better.

Overdose by a young suburban woman 7 months pregnant, with her 2 year old daughter right next to her, in old 013 this past Wednesday. 7 months pregnant. Some narcan brought her out of it.

But legalize all drugs, right? We can trust the mass of low IQ, low information, amoral people to make the right decisions when it comes to highly addictive, toxic substances.

Right liberals?
