Charges in Homicide

  • Cook County prosecutors on Friday gave a chilling account of the final hours of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee’s short life, outlining their case against a man they say targeted the boy for death amid a murderous cycle of retaliation between rival gangs.

As the grade-schooler played on the swings at Dawes Park on Nov. 2, Corey Morgan sat parked in a black SUV with two other men, watching, Assistant State’s Attorney George Canellis said at Morgan’s bond hearing on a charge of first-degree murder.
Remember, Jesse won't march for this kid why?

From left-to-right: Jesse, Jeff Fort, Mickey Cogwell

Oh yeah.

Excellent job by all involved. Very well done.

Funny how the case got charged in spite of commander salemme and sgt bill silver. He is a fraud of a commander. Talks a big game but leans on sgt bill silver when times get tough. The two of them could not figure out how to get laid in a ten dollar whorehouse with a hundred dollar bill. They would be fighting over who gets to screw each other first. Salemme was never a homicide detective despite of what he says. He is a moronic boss who should be in prison for the koshman coverup. Great job to the real detectives who got this case solved in spite of salemme and bill silver.

Its the right thing to hold the oath of office and do whats right but know this while your out there. It could be you one day. Ironic how our own FOP President says nothing about this and continues to just sell out everyone and all contractual right.

I give credit to Fox News for bringing this to the attention of the American public when the protests started in Chicago. They were the only ones to ask why no one was protesting for this murdered child of a gang family. Bravo, Fox News. Bravo. They are taking a stand against the hypocrisy of the communist leftists in the media and the communist scum funding these protests.

SCC WTF this is from one of the alderfools

All of the questions on the settlement took place in the Finance Committee April 13 two days before. There were a handful there asking the questions, but the bottom line was that the corp counsel Steve Patton misled everyone even after people asked publicly he stood by the facts as he had them in his possession. Video is rare because the settlements either preclude it as the lawyers agree to it or they don't have video. I think almost every time we've had a questionable case in the past few years I've sat in the meetings either another colleague or I has practically yelled at or berated the police superintendent and corp counsel for lack of changes to discipline. But, when they hide the facts and put out what they'd say bis the truth, it's almost impossible to know the truth. And they refuse to give some if us that evidence. I bet some aldermen knew, as usual, and hid it. I.e. O'CONNOR or Burke, but they don't tell the handful of us looking for answers. It was like the time I mentioned. It was me versus steve Patton on a case in a council finance committee like the same as the video date. I demanded the evidence, he said in short. ...go screw off, go get your own lawyer and go to the court if you want the evidence-data. I went to the IG and the IG said....I have no subpoena power bc the mayor put a stop to it. We pushed to get him subpoena power and rahm stopped it. The IG said your only choice is the media or supreme court but they even stop the Supreme Court case with the IG. These people will do anything to stop people from looking into what they are doing because they don't believe in open democracy. There is case after case with them hiding stuff. Admittedly, we should have maybe jumped on the table and pounded it more but in the McDonald case there was a sense that the family had cut a deal with the city and that was the strangest moment of all. If it was so bad why did they? But, again, as we sat there and said we wanted the video and I hears Brookings ask for it, they said he lunged, officer was in fear of life, and facts were disputed, so we reluctantly, NO I, reluctantly believed him. Reluctantly bc Incouldnt imagine they lie every single time as city lawyers, but they did. So there's shame on me for believing the city lawyer as we did. If someone else is too resign it's Steve Patton, but then he'd be another scapegoat. think the mayor did see the video? Probably, with audio. Another lie (that there was none) that they told just this past week.

I voted w rahm 54% of the time, and I don't often believe them. I still haven't found my notes from that meeting, but I believed them. how could a City lawyer lie about that in public, Esp when the FBI was supposedly looking into it? Well it shows how low they will go to hide the truth. The ARDC will never reprimand Patton for such a mistruth. The feds won't either bc he probably was unethical but didn't break any fedreal laws. He just covered up for the Mayor. Look at April 13, I will get the transcripts but you can see non public testimony on the link I've sent around on FB of Patton where he speaks the media. He says there's a video but facts are disputed. That's not on the transcripts of the Finance mtg.

Something struck me yesterday. The video of the shooting was released, and the media was crying that there was no audio to go along with it.

I wasn't there. Right or wrong. Legal or not, I'd bet JVD now wishes he never even rode on that job.

What I was thinking about is why don't they release the zone traffic from that incident? Again, I was not there, but the radio traffic might paint another picture of what transpired that night.

The video is so sterile, so quiet. It really does look bad. But perhaps the radio traffic might add another layer to this matter.

We have plenty of cop haters that are good at FOIA'ing things, maybe some one else would like to FOIA the zone that night?

Webb should lead an independent investigation as to why only certain stores were blocked and others were not. Did Jesse Jackson of rainbow push and the CPS Union take shakedown money from businesses that were allowed to operate during the "protest"?

The Chicago Tribune should ask these probing questions in an editorial request for a full investigation. Or maybe just wait untill the stores sue for deprivation of income.

BCBS will stop offering the PPO option in 2016. For now they will keep offering it to large group employers like the city of Chicago or other huge corporations. This is a huge disaster.

We work for like 30 to 45 years and then the government says they don't have enough money for pensions or social security.

If the criminal act did not bring the police, none of these so called victims would be dead. They would be alive and committing more crimes. No one says you have to lay down, but if you aren't scaling back then I guess you are just someone who has to learn the hard way.

It has been all out war against the police in this town for almost eight years now and on a national level for over a year. It will continue to be that way on a national level for at least 14 more months. Add four years to that if Hillary is elected, then possibly another four, etc. etc.

On a local level, proactive policing is over. Basically everything you do away from the cameras is suspect to the public, and everything you do on camera is subject to critique.

There are only two jobs in America that everyone thinks they can do, NFL Quarterback and cop.

As the Ranger organization grew, it became involved in community and political activism. The gang also received support from Presbyterian minister Reverend John Fry who advised Hairston and Fort how to manage their organization. Under Rev. Fry's guidance, Fort obtained a charter from the State of Illinois to form a political organization, Grassroots Independent Voters of Illinois, in 1967. Fort's organization applied for and received a US$1 million federal grant from the now-defunct Office of Economic Opportunity to fund a program to teach job skills to gang members. The Rangers also received grants and loans from private foundations. Unlike many gangs, the Blackstone Rangers were not considered outsiders but had been largely accepted by Chicago society, with Jeff Fort even receiving an invitation from President Richard Nixon, following the 1968 election to attend the 1969 inaugural ball. (Fort declined this invitation, sending his "top man" Mickey Cogwell and one of his "generals" in his stead to the 1969 inauguration).

Hopefully, Dan Herbert has that for the trial. Once the zone 6 radio traffic is played, along with the multiple 911 calls regarding the savage (I mean honor student) Laquon "Mac Donalds", the judge will see that this officer, in light of the entire circumstances, acted within the scope of the law. Unfortunate for the #BLM movement, but still not a 1st degree murder. When the officer is acquitted, then the REAL fun will start. I'm retiring in 18 months. Hope the trial doesn't occur before then. Check out the TV Show, The F.B.I. Files Terror for Sale
it was on cable recently and comes up now and again.

Jeff Fort from prison continued to run the El Rukn street gang and narcotics trade in Chicago. He went further and had his gang purchased a L.A.W. rocket (light anti-tank weapon) from an F.B.I. informant. This weapon could take down an airliner or do other damage and there were plans to buy more. This was done with the hope of acting as terrorists for hire for Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Maybe Jesse can add Muammar Gaddafi to the photo.

I don't like Jesse Jackson. But one thing you can't call him is a loser. Him and his family are multi millionaires. While we are trying to just get by and working vri, cta or security jobs on our days off.

Like crime pays, extortion and other ploys that is. Most of the time. J.J.jr. and Sandi once out of jail can sit back and just grow old quietly.

So an officer says he is proactive and you berate him? Next time don't bother calling 911 goofy asshat.

11/28/2015 08:10:00 PM

I think he just said that. He's armed like an American should be in this town. And he'll therefor only need to call 911 for the service to scoop up the thug that tried to do him harm. 'Merica!

Jesse won't march for anything unless there is some $$$$ in it for him. Ask any of the families that he has marched for over the years.
Trust me when I say, he not only shakes down businesses he shakes down those families that have lost children. If he (and he may be negotiating right now) thought he could get some of that 5mil out of McDonald's family, he'll be marching for them otherwise no marching!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Good Lord child, research Jesse Sr. Look up some history on him. He doesn't have a paying job, never did. Where do you think he and his family have made all that money?
hint: It's didn't fall off a tree.

Coming from a non-police reading this blog, I'd say you are very foolish. If you are not killed or maimed trying to bring civilization to those who rebel against it every minute of their lives, you will be thrown under the bus when you have to defend your life or the lives of your coworkers against some drug crazed savage (teen).

If you truly like being a copper and want to solve crimes and help people, move far north or into a flyover state and get a job for a rural sheriff's department. We appreciate law and order, we own guns but don't point them at people, and your work will be generally far safer and more appreciated. Lastly do you really think that in 30 years Chicago will be solvent to pay you that pension? Eyes on Detroit for the answer there.

Thanks for giving your sales tax dollars to Indiana. We don't need them here to pay police salaries and pensions. Does not make a lot of sense.

I have a question that you may have to put some real thought into. There are a ton of police who like to work, its not just you. The difference is that all those "real police" at some point looked around and thought, "I risk so much chasing people around and things can go bad so fast, who has my back if it does?"

Now you can go on some Patton type monologue about the future and looking into the eyes of a child and a single tear as the American flag ripples in the wind blah blah...thats the delusion of the 20 year old man. Thats not reality. Reality is very ugly and no one wants to see it. Reality is that you may have a family or someone that cares about you and its your obligation to provide to them just like thousands of coppers who want a good life for their family. And reality is that if a copper loses his job or gets killed on the job there are no protests, no constant news coverage, no community outrage. Yet when a thug is killed by police, regardless of its justification, EVERYONE gets involved from a church group all the way up to the federal government. So here's my question. Why are you so proud of being "aggressive and proactive"? Its like working overtime in a factory for free. You get no more pay, you cant feed the family with Honorables, and if your friends dont buy you rounds at the bar already, they arent good friends if hero stories compel them to.

I just finished reading the front page story in the Sun Times. I still can't wrap my head around how anyone could coldly murder an innocent child. Now, don't get me wrong, I have a pretty tuff skin about most things, but this one got to me. Maybe it's because I'm a woman, I just don't understand that life I guess. Momma goes out and buys a new car, while people like me cry when we read this story thinking this poor little
guy probably never had half a chance in life anyway. I did see his father cry, but his mother that carried him, and felt him moving inside of her never shed a tear! How is that possibile?
