I'm a retired LEO from the south suburbs and my daughter works for CPS, not as a teacher, but as a medical professional helping students with special needs K-4. I'm thankful for the fact that she got the hell out of Dodge Wednesday afternoon and is safely up at our retirement home in the northwoods. The three of us will have a family Thanksgiving, and the ladies will have a peaceful Black Friday shopping because the people up here are civilized, respect the police, and don't act like animals.
My heart, best wishes, and prayers when we go to Mass this morning are with all CPD brothers and sisters that have to put up with cancelled days off/holidays because of the BS going on in the city. We we also pray for your safety on the job so that you can join your loved ones ASAP after your tour. Thank the Good Lord our family is 400 miles away from it. Be safe out there and take care of each other. Screw the bastards that don't respect you and give them the police protection that they deserve.
And no matter how you feel, a special prayer for Officer VanDyke and his family for what they are going through. Pray to the Good Lord you never have to go through what they are.
I'm sure the "grieving family of the honor student" will be feasting on a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner of "Flamin" Hots and grape pop" with their $5mil ghetto lottery, while a decent working man and his family suffer.

Time for Rauner to call in the National Guard. The shitheads can beat cops and not get prosecuted.

Fuck Rahm having to request the Guard.

Just send em, Governor. Good dose of tear gas, close up with a bayonet, or that personal touch of a rifle buttstock will give DICK Fowler on Fox News something to cry about in his Cream of Wheat.

You CPD guys and gals are the best. Be there for each other. Especially now.

May everyone have a safe thanksgiving with our family and loved ones.
For those of us working tomorrow in the loop, lets all be safe and go home unharmed.
Since catholic priest flaker is calling on people to cause chaos and disrupt normal life on north Michigan avenue, lets withhold any and all cash from Cardinal cupich. lets hit him in the pocket book and demand that he FIRE Michael pflager immediately. For he is calling for hoodlums and vigilantes to act up and cause civil disobedience. Is there any other person like him in the catholic church with his antics and hatred of the police?

If by chance I get injured and am unable to work, I plan on finding an attorney who will go after him for his public calls for civil disobedience and hold him and the catholic church civilly responsible for his actions and for allowing one of their employees to act in such an unprofessional manner. Same type of lawsuit when they sue the city for a PO's action on or off duty. Time to hit the Catholic church wehre it matters most.

Happy Thanksgiving to all CPD today. Paticularly to those who have to leave their family to go hit the streets. Been there, done that.

Now for a Darwin award to go to associate professor Arthur Acevedo of John Marshall Law School.

In today's Tribune, he promotes the idea that the first bullet in a police officers gun magazine/chanber, should be a blank.

That sentence says it all and needs no further commentary from me.

Be safe.

During NATO I had a chance to see a demo on what and how the Bike Unit can be effective in crown control, well they did a great job, the bikes can be used as a barricade, etc. well last night they used them again to stay ahead of the marchers and for whatever reason Car 41 cut troops early, now being a retired Sgt. with 40 yrs. on this job and a former member of a unit that was called out for all of the crap, this was poor judgement, especially when they were running all over downtown. Then to be on the Radio asking for the bike officers to come back out if they were still changing in their unit. The Department has been pissing away dollars on all the babysitting of these villians, so why not send a lot more downtown to help out, This is only the beginning and to see these animals tearing down lights from a public display is not tolerable, I predict that there will be an all out riot when these savages start bothering people that are out for an evening with their family downtown. Stay safe to all of our Officers, Thanks to the Il. State Police for their help last night.

First bullet a blank...bwahahahahaha!
Once the criteria for the use of deadly force exists then
I'll have to react .5 seconds earlier.
It would be a policy issue. I'll take the chance and ignore it.
Saying that, having a blank chambered will just increase
shootings when the crieria exists. Officers will not risk
taking any chance of being killed.

Stay safe boys and girls.

Here's a thought on the Chicago Police shooting incident.
Has anyone mentioned that the dash camera gives an enhanced picture of what it records? And, those cameras are made specifically to give a better picture and perform better than the human eye does at night?
Furthermore, in the video, Laquan is waving a shiny object in his right hand while reaching quickly to his waist band with his left hand? Anyone who has done police work in a busy area knows that just because someone has what is now known to be a KNIFE, may in addition also have a GUN ? Some of today's youths love to carry a knife and a gun, SIMULTANEOUSLY as do many other well dressed thugs.
Perhaps the City of Chicago should post some Public Service Announcements in certain areas of town informing the citizenry that waving knifes or guns in a public place might be hazardous to your health? (while under the influence of PCP). Especially in the dark of night while approached by Police Officers who only want to go home in the same condition as when they reported for duty. Just sayin.

What I don't get is why the protest? This crap happened a year ago, the family got paid $5 million. Maybe the cop should have only shot this fool 3 times... 16 seems a bit over the top, but honestly - protests? Blocking the streets? Shutting down the "Mag Mile" on Black Friday? Tearing down the Xmas tree?

This is all a big giant steaming pile and anyone with any sense knows it. Enough with this nonsense already - everytime some fool criminal gets shot isn't a reason to protest.

How about when the 11 or the 9 yr old got shot or were found chopped up in the pond? No protests then. Ask yourself why not. These faux "Black Lies Matter" protests are contrived - follow the money to see who's paying for them.

this kid? Are they going to protest the 'family' of the

Robo calls went out to teachers courtesy of Jesse Jackson urging people to come down and March on Black Friday. When someone received the call on Thanksgiving while with her family complained ,Stephanie Gadlin stated well I'm sorry some people are upset but how do you think we feel about a child riddled with bullets. I don't know Stephanie ,children have been riddled with bullets for years now from gangbangers and all of a sudden you're bothered? Where have you been all these years? Maybe her phone number should be posted so we can call her at home when she's with her family.
And why Michigan Avenue, here's a clue Jesse the people shopping on Michigan Avenue don't care!

"And why Michigan Avenue, here's a clue Jesse the people shopping on Michigan Avenue don't care!" Not only that, but a large percentage of the people shopping on Michigan Avenue on Black Friday don't live in Chicago! So why not give them a taste of the REAL Chicago, Jesse, and annoy these unwitting taxpayers so much that they decide the trip ain't worth it, they stay home and either buy local or shop online. That sure will hep black folks in Cook County, won't it?
