Curious....Very Curious

Later today, a miracle will occur. The FBI agents involved in a shooting 72 hours ago, will finally give their version of events to their internal investigators.

And the miracle? The media will be completely silent - exactly the opposite of what they were broadcasting as "excessive" when it was learned that Chicago Police have 24 hours to gather their thoughts after the most stressful occurrence in an officers' career:
  • Convicted of murder as a teenager, Melvin Toran had spent nearly his entire adult life behind bars when federal agents came to his Park Forest home at dawn Tuesday to arrest him on drug trafficking charges.

Toran, 50, a reputed high-ranking member of the Black P Stone Nation street gang, didn't go quietly. As an FBI SWAT team descended on the quiet suburban cul-de-sac, a gun battle broke out that left two FBI agents wounded and Toran dead inside the home.

The agents both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated and released from local hospitals, said Garrett Croon, a spokesman for the FBI's Chicago office.

Few details were being released Tuesday about how the shooting unfolded, including where or how the agents were wounded or whether Toran was shot by the agents or killed himself. FBI investigators from Washington were still processing the scene Tuesday night, Croon said.
The silence on the part of the family saying this old-time gangster, convicted murderer and gun runner, who was about to turn his life around if only the big bad FBI would have left him alone is a wonder to behold. The media hasn't found a single solitary auntie to speak on his behalf?

We'll bet the FBI doesn't release the agents' statements, the names of the involved agents, the race of the agents, nor any video that might exist, and the media will never mention this incident again.

Any takers to bet against the house?

Best wishes to the injured agents on a prompt recovery.

You mean they didn't use a tazer, fire a warning shot, shoot the gun out of his hand, shoot him in the leg, etc?

As much as I like Evans, we again have a double standard. Supervisors are treated diffently by Superintendents compared to PO's. If Evans was a blue shirt the Super would concur with IPRA and that PO would be sitting at call back awaiting termination . Evans is hiding at 35th St and has the backing of the Super.

Who could forget McJagoff only recommending 45 days for Lesner.

Federal law enforement does not think they have the same obligation of accountability and transparent operations that they and the media think local police do. That folks is a fact of life and there are historical demonstrations of this thought process. Ruby Ridge and Waco are two examples where factual information was suppressed for months or years. It took civil litigation to open the closet. We may never know who killed that piece of garbage the other day. You are right, the handling of the matter in the media is very different compared to how they handle it when you cops are involved. My issue is I want to give law enforcement, even if it is the FBI proper credit for getting that garbage out of the Park Forest community.

It's not curious. It's crystal clear. It's a Chicago game played by the politicians, "community activists" (ministers & criminals), and lawyers to make $$$. And none of the phony posturing would be possible unless it was served up by the MEDIA.

Non life threatening wounds also means life altering wounds both mentally and physically. Non life threatening is easy to report and undermines the real issues that the injured law enforcement officers endure.

Let's be real it's the FBI and they're UNTOUCHABLE. They will be ordered to do whatever it takes to put police officers and some low level criminals in jail or in the ground. Very few bottom feeding lawyers will ever go after the FBI, unlike the ones here in Illinois who are on speed dial with city hall to sue.

Been advocating for years that not only should we get a FOP attorney to assist us during the crucial moments following a shooting (rather than a drunk incompetent rep) but also allow "decompression" time prior to giving an "official" statement just like the FBI, ATF, etc.

In this case, detectives, IPRA, Sparklefart Unicorns or BLM can conduct an investigation based on available evidence and then ask the officer(s) what caused them to use their weapons.

It's still available to request medical treatment and transport to hospital for chest pains to give you time before being forced into a statement that is fueled by receding adrenaline and confusion.

Another interesting factor:
The FBI's overall boss (O'Bama) hasn't been telling anyone who would listen about a "code of silence" at the FBI.
Compare that to CPD's overall boss (asshole Rahm) who WAS publicly blathering about a "code of silence" within CPD.

Interesting how Rahm never talks about the "code of silence" at City Hall...... you know the code of silence that causes Rahm to flat out refuse to take certain questions from the media.
Yet no intrepid reporters ever report on the "code of silence" at City Hall.

Clearly it's open season on CPD.
Keep your head down and stay fetal my friends.

"In 2013, The New York Times reported that of more than 150 episodes in which an agent shot another person dating back at least two decades, the group deemed every one justified." (from NYT)

For the most part the FBI can do no wrong. The NYT reported the FBI did find an off duty shooting "bad" years ago and shooting the tires out of s subject car "bad" but not the killing of the subject.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/23/us/fbi-says-killing-man-was-justified-but-not-shooting-his-tire.html

And Waco TX. occurred under a DEMOCRATIC administration.

It's a totally different narrative media vs. FBI! why simple the FBI can and will investigate the media and make them sorry after exposing all the corrupt media members! Ever hear trump talking about how unfair and biased the media is? The head of the FBI has a big task ahead looks like he is holding the ball for all the murdered Americans in Benghazi, watched the former mayor of New York Rudy he is a former federal prosecutor he said clearly that James Comey the head of the FBI has the evidence and has to charge hillary clinton let's see how that works out!

On another note, i was on the detail and these guys with the lawsuit were told clearly that this is a "exempt" position you serve at the "pleasure" of the mator and we got sergeants pay and pension. But many of these guys are sore in that when they were back to 9161 patrolmen they stayed in the high pay status, next thing you know your brought in by Frank Wilson and his crew (head of finance) and told you had to pay all the extra pay back! Some paid back up to $50,000 but that is how it goes! Many had so much time in rank and get the hefty sergeants pension, and don't forget while you worked special cta etc at your rate they were paid overtime at the much higher sergeants rate, paid and overtime was never questioned. The pay was great while it lasted, the qualifications for that job are none, you just had to be friends with the elected or his/her family! look at the details the mayor has, the city clerk, the treasurer why do the clerk and treasurer need police spec vehicles, and valets making sergeants pay and also sucking the pension dry with extra pension payments when they retire? On this rant why are patrolmen on the mayors detail making commanders pay and commanders huge pension! Hey Mike Lappe Hauser hows that civil service gold braid reduction bill going? You know like fire has accomplished!
Rant/off thanks again SCC

Glad to hear the federal agents involved in the suburban shootout will be all right and make a full recovery. They do law enforcement stuff just like state, county and municipal police do. Unlike local law enforcement, the feds will not be subjected to:

• An independent civilian review board made up of community activists, clergy, retired liberal judges, and partners in academia must be given full access to their agency to determine if excessive force was used and if possibly any means necessary, criminal investigations satisfying community concerns for perceived criminal conduct and policy violations

• A F.O.I. request filing giving full access for all in car camera/microphone recordings, individual mandated body mic/camera footage, all radio communications, cell phone records, SWAT team cameras used for quality control and training purposes, disciplinary records of those involved to be published for eternity dirtying up their family names and professional standing. (The feds fund mics/cameras for local departments to aid in prosecution for criminal and civil rights violations committed by local police. Agencies under control by the D.O.J. are exempt from their own requirements for individual agent's recording and monitoring readily available for public inspection with a FOI request)

• Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson Sr., will not be protesting calling for “justice” questioning the lawful actions of agents of the federal government via the mass media since both have “suspended- in progress” criminal investigations. Sharpton owes back taxes with his tax evasion practices and Jackson while at Operation Push evaporated federal job funding for poor underserved children as published in the book entitled Shakedown. Dirty up the feds by making appearance on T.V. and the grand jury rewards the sought after by the media's official civil rights spokespersons with a finding of a true bill pressing criminal charges for their past indiscretions. Bash the local police and you are a positive contributing member to their agenda. Speak ill of the feds or justice department and you cross the line ending up in the doj crosshairs,

5/27/2016 12:46:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

The family and the community should seek a second autopsy much like the doj requested in the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri. An independent review authority must be the lead investigative authority. State level grand juries made up of residents in underserved areas must review the actions of those involved for possible excessive force, profiling, biased based federal justice and disrespect.

This he-gone violent criminal challenged a civil, just society by all his career of lawlessness. The the brave men and women of law enforcement sought to end his everyday way of life crime spree. If these actions were taken by any other agency of the feds, a full court press condemning law enforcement professionals would be underway.

We haven't heard he was shot in the back while surrendering nor will we hear slogans such as 16-shots or he was executed. The doj is the ultimate authority with 3 hour ethic classes under their belts. Therefore, average citizens cannot question nor challenge this ultimate, ruling authority. The constitution does not apply to these doj bureaucrats.

Besides, the federal government is the largest employer in underserved areas employing a modern army of S.S.I. voters. The feds have the power to defund the local housing providers by destabilizing the rent free market and pissing off slumlords on the 1st of the month. Local community grants to grocery stores via L.I.N.K. provide nutritional sustenance and serve as a stabilizing force for the foreign grocery store owner's economic prosperity. Who would provide funding to feed the hungry not fed at home children at school if it weren't for the feds?

Mess with the feds and the first of the month won't exist. The current crisis with no food, long soup lines and rioting will make the state controlled economy's collapse in Venezuela look like an amateur event. The City of Chicago will take the gold medal in Hopelessness, Despair all without Change should the entitlement spigot be turned off. Chicago's one party leadership with all of its influence in D.C. can't even bring home the 2016 Olympics. Instead the international event will be hosted in one of the most crime ridden cities in the hemisphere.

Re -FBI

The FBI runs like a fine tuned violin or Swiss clock. S.A' get promoted cause they work their asses off for the cause. Supervisor' there are men and women who back their people and lead by example. Not to many of the CPD brass, former or current would make it as a cleaning person at the Bureau.

Most CPD brass, if not all, could not get pass the application process for getting a clearance.

Jody Weis was FBI and did what he could to make CPD a better place. He Silently took care of so many copper' without any fanfare.

McCarthy came in and CPD good brass got gutted to shit with this bull shit artist. Now he works for a former CPD guy from Grand Ave with a very-very questionable character. How Mc D last as long as he did is a mystery. Rahm should of kept Weis and there would of never been any fall out cause McD caused Rahm' downfall from grace with the community.

If you reading this Mr. Weis, you were a real leader.

Back in the 70's there were a series of complaints made concerning the various types of ammunition officers were using in their service weapons (.38 cal. revolvers) at the time. The dept. issued round nose bullets were often failing, causing officers to substitute a variety of different loads. The Supt. Rochford (a decorated hero), solved the problem and ended all of the half-assed media complaints by ordering a switch to the same ammo the FBI used. The federal standard for interviews should be adopted, it would be cheaper and easier to defend in the long run. Correct Mr. Loevy?

The local media isn't f-ing the FBI because they know better. The Feebs will not only tell them FO and GFY, they will come back at them and look into them.

The local media fluffs, especially Carol Marin, know who is an easy safe target (CPD) and who isn't (FBI) and adjust their sights accordingly.

What????? You thought they had real balls?

The FBI spokesman said and rightly so, agents/officers that are involved in a shootout or shot are traumatized and need time to recover, respond to their family before giving statements. To Bad Nobody With Balls At FLOP could open their mouth and say the same thing. We all handle stress differently but should not be forced into saying anything to some one with no related experience just so they can look at our actions thru their eyes. If anything a shooting review should be done by a companion agency, ie sheriff (except dart) State Police etc.

While the ECG will be unremarkable in the ED, the docs will be unable to to discount your symptoms and probably hold you for 23 hours. In the mean time speak to no one except your family and FOP. Inform the docs you will not speak to anyone form the Department or and other investigative body. Demand that anyone you don't wish to see be prevented from entering or remaining in your room.
