Took my son and his friend to Bears camp years ago. All the kids were lined up waiting for the players to come onto the field to get autographs and interact a little. Urlacher walked right past all of the young boys calling out to him. Looked the other way when he heard them calling his name. Arrogant piece of shit. people in general are not against cops so much as they are against government. unfortunately, cops are the most visible face of government. we will yet rue that we decided along the way to turn police departments into mostly revenue generation. that has had the effect of turning even those who would normally support police into at least a position of ambivalence about them.
it used to be that unless you went out of your way to do so, you just never interacted with police. they dealt with the bad guys. with the revenue generation model of policing, police now interact with just about everyone in a negative way and over time that has had inevitable negative consequences.
