Hey Pawar, Go Fuck Yourself

  • Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th) lashed out at the local police union Saturday over its endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"Sometimes when people don't feel supported, there is a knee-jerk tendency to run to the loudest and most ignorant voice," said Pawar. "The [Fraternal Order of Police] is doing just that with their endorsement of Donald Trump."

The National Fraternal Order of Police backed Trump last month, calling him a law-and-order candidate who will "make America safe again." The local Fraternal Order of Police lodge more recently and more quietly backed that endorsement by posting it on its website.
Did everyone get that? The NATIONAL LODGE endorsed Trump. This after surveying all of their chapters and coming up with a tally on whom to endorse. The LOCAL FOP did NOT endorse a national candidate (as far as we know, they never have) and merely posted what the NATIONAL LODGE had decided.

Given the tenor of recent endorsements by the LOCAL LODGE, we wouldn't be surprised if they actually voted for Hillary, seeing as how they consistently have endorsed Chicago Machine candidates and countless other democrats. But they are only one vote.

And get this - the NATIONAL LODGE sent out a survey to the two candidates for them to fill out and return, asking for their positions on issues important to the police. Usually a flunky fills out the answers and the NATIONAL LODGE makes its endorsement based on the answers that best reflect the concerns of.....police officers!

Guess who didn't even bother to fill out the survey? Or even have a flunky do it?

So the LOCAL LODGE continued endorsing Chicago Machine democrats locally and reported to its members exactly what the NATIONAL LODGE had chosen to do based on the response AND NON RESPONSE of the candidates. Amazing how that works.

That wasn't good enough for alder-asshole Pawar though:
  • Pawar said Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the City Council had already shown their support for police, and Emanuel has called openly for community support as well.

"You know what support looks like?" Pawar said. "Take one look at what Chicagoans just did. We passed the largest property-tax increase in city history to secure police pensions. In the 2017 budget, we are hiring over 1,000 new police officers. Why? We did this to support the people who support us.
Um, no. You and the other 49 thieves did this to right an historical wrong. You see, for years, the city refused to acknowledge the actuarial tables presented to them by various pension boards that pointed out (correctly) that the multiplier used by the city to determine pension contributions was low - lower than was possible to maintain the solvency of pensions systems.

But successive mayors and alder-thieves ignored these warnings and instead, spent the money in an orgy of financial misconduct unseen in recorded history. Many connected families, firms and individuals got rich while the pensions withered. So spare us your "we did this...to support." You're full of shit.

Oh yeah, and the governor signed a law that said if the city didn't make the proper contributions, their share would come out of other state money that democrats wanted to spend on all sorts of other crap.

Then the threats start (gotta rub the balls of the "revrunds," social justice warriors and urban terrorists!):
  • He said the union's endorsement of Trump could have consequences in the City Council, starting with 2017 budget hearings beginning next week that will eventually embroil the Police Department.

"I think there will be a lot of questions during the budget hearings about culture and police-community relations in the wake of this endorsement," Pawar said. He also said it would attract scrutiny over the new police contract, expected to be reached in the coming year.
Really? So a LOCAL Fraternal Organization merely publishing the result of a vote taken by their NATIONAL Fraternal Organization, is going to result in "questions" and "scrutiny"?

Why? Because they didn't endorse the "correct" candidate? This is still America asshole. We don't march people to the voting booths and hold a gun to their head so they "elect" the "correct" candidate. We're sure that there are many cops who are going to vote for Trump, others for Hillary, and each for their own reasons - usually naked self interest. You don't get to force cops to endorse your candidate.

Deano responded, but not nearly forcefully enough.

Fuck this asshole with his socialist leanings and Big Brother bullshit.

Hey asshole, you come from the most corrupt city council north of Orleans parish with an incarceration rate rivaling certain banana republics. A kleptocracy run by "public servants" who all end up millionaires inside of three terms. And you're going to bluster about an endorsement by a NATIONAL LODGE and hold it against a LOCAL entity merely attempting to keep up with your criminal misspending, crooked contracting, and massive tax increases?

Did you forget that cops are REQUIRED to live in the city? That your tax hikes are PAID BY US to save OUR pensions that you and your ilk mismanaged? So your "support" is actually shorting us (and out families) more money so that we don't have to eat cat food when we finally manage to retire?

Or does your narrow-minded, leftist, democrat, socialist, totalitarian thinking only go so far?

Fuck off.

"That wouldn't happen to be because the Il. Supreme Court forced the mayor to bring up funding would it"? The last two mayors Failed to Pay the correct amounts into the Pension Fund continually kicking the can down the road... or was it when a mayors nephew was allowed to use pension fund money that he lost, or could it possibly be because the mayor wrote 1,200 officers Out of the City Budget and refused to even keep up with the attrition rate... I always found it interesting that both mayors Always seemed to "Find" money when it was a pet project they wanted...

Fuck you scumbag lowlife alderweisel! You talk like you did us a favor with the pension we earned. This was a contractual agreement on our date of hire. We pay 9%(unlike teachers)into it every year as agreed upon. You fools borrowed and overspent beyond your means to appease various groups to get votes and stay in power. You did this! You are supposed to fix it. You fucked it up. We had nothing to do with the pension fund. And who says you fixed it? You? I've heard that before. On one hand this guy says he supports the police but a minute later says that the upcoming police contract will be looked at closely now because of the Trump endorsement. So, him and the other politicians are gonna try and stick it to the police when contract negotiations start because the FOP endorsed the only pro police candidate. They'll use any reason they can think of to try and diminish our benefits at contract time. Not mentioned in the article is the fact that by chastising the FOP for endorsing Trump, that must mean this guy supports Clinton, the candidate who supports BLM who openly calls for cops to be murdered, let americans get butchered in Benghazi, lied to the FBI regarding classified emails sent and received over her private server, protects her pedophile husband, set up a scam charity in Canada so they could funnel money to themselves( there's a law in Canada that says you can't reveal foreign donors), and guess what? The money is tax free which means you and I are subsidizing it. The Clinton foundation. Google it. And this alderman supports this criminal. We are screwed.

Fight in the courts until a judge agrees that requiring employees to live in the City is unreasonable and unconstitutional. Hit these ignorant pandering clowns where it hurts.

We are the last city left with this outdated archaic law. If these politicians want to undercut us and throw us under the bus and pander to the lawless, then we have to collectively give them one giant middle finger.

I like the part where they say the next contract expected to be reached in the coming year. Really???
Our current contract runs through June..... and our next contract will be hammered out in the remainder of the year?
I guess since the city's stance will be to try and take away all our contractual rights ( to appease "the community") the simpletons figure the contract will be done in record time.
Even in much simpler times a contract has never been reached in less than 1.5 years.

This next contract negotiations will likely be the most contentious yet so don't expect a quick resolution to it. In fact I simply don't see how it doesn't wind up in the hands of an arbitrator. Rahm doesn't do give and take negotiations...... all Rahm knows is the take part.

New parish jail there, state-of-the-art -- old one torn down yet, skeletons of inmates left to drown in the dark still inside?

Superdome buffed up?

Saw pics of the hulk of Charity Hospital, to this day still open to the weather, $250,000 worth of ruined microscopes on a s__tty Ikea table, the particle board warped in a 40-degree arc from the wet. Who were those two who walked on about 35 murder charges for "euthanizing" patients?

I still remember printing out that weather forecast the day before and taking it with me to read out to a bunch of friends. Shoved it back in my pocket and said "There are a lot of folks down there who don't know that they're spending their last evening on this Earth."

https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20160711/downtown/blue-lives-matter-ordinance-not-going-anywhere-this-summer

CITY HALL — If it's going to be a long hot summer for police and protesters in the city, it doesn't appear as if the so-called Blue Lives Matter Ordinance is going to be part of it.

"I don't think the Blue Lives thing is moving this month," said Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th). "I hope not.".

Submitted by Ald. Edward Burke (14th) last month, the proposed ordinance would categorize offenses committed against police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians as hate crimes. Thus, it would offer law-enforcement officials the same protection against bias now extended to individuals on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry and sexual orientation.

4) End illegal immigration and massive hard drug smuggling

6) Oppose lying political correctness
7) Reduce urban crime, implement time tested police strategies of NYC Rudy Guliani
8) Call a spade a spade. Chicago's horrible crime is done by criminals not Chicago's police.

I would like to do one last pro Trump demo ~ 15 people, I've got excellent banners and signs. Can anyone tell me how I can hire off duty or retired Chicago police for security. It wouldn't be announced in advance like the Trump rally at UIC that the Communists and BlackLiesMatter mobs broke up. I don't think we would be attacked, but you never know.

Can anyone tell me the best way to go about hiring Chicago police for security?

Pawar is delusional

WCT: What do you think are the causes of, and the solutions for, crime in Chicago?

Ameya Pawar: One, we're a very segregated city; two, we have an incredible amount of illegal guns flowing into the city. You add those two together and it's a recipe for disaster. We can't get Congress to do anything on secondary markets, on illegal gun supply chains and purchases, or stronger background checks, so … you know, we're doing our absolute best and certainly hiring more officers is part of the equation. But you're not going to police your way out of it—we need to do something about affordable housing in the form of a strong affordable housing ordinance and we need more diverse communities.

WCT: What would you recommend to have a better relationship between police and the citizens they serve, including people of color and the transgender community?

Ameya Pawar: I think fundamentally it all comes down to all of us recognizing we're on the same side. And that acknowledging historical issues is important. Historical trauma is real, and so if you have a community that feels like it's been discriminated against or experienced mistreatment at the hands of the police, those things impact how communities of the future deal with the police department. At the end of the day, we're all on the same side, whether you're in the transgender community or live on the South or West Side, but sometimes it doesn't come across that way. We need to have more dialogue around some of these historical issues so that we can start moving beyond those and having a better relationship between the community and the police department.

I been saying this for years we should start up a collection to hire our own lawyer that's not associated with the FOP.
It's clear the FOP won't represent us regarding this issue because of their back room deal or agreement or whatever you want to call it.
And for those who say that's bullshit... the last 3 presidents (and it maybe more but I only been around for 3) won't even discuss the issue it's pretty obvious this is totally off the table no matter who's running the FOP.
We need to start up a collection and handle it on our own that's the only way we can get rid of residency

Hire some lawyers and FIGHT RESIDENCY NOW. Do not negotiate for lifting residency contractually, meaning we give up something. Fight in the courts until a judge agrees that requiring employees to live in the City is unreasonable and unconstitutional. Hit these ignorant pandering clowns where it hurts.

We have residency due to STATE LAW, not simply because the city wants it. They placed it into law to insure it would remain intact, otherwise we would probably already have it. The legislature which is democrat controlled would have to repeal it and we all know that aint happening.

OT -- Comey acknowledges the False Narrative

The public has 'no idea' whether police shootings are getting worse despite outrage over the killing of black people, says FBI boss James Comey

* FBI boss said videos of fatal police encounters and a lack of reliable data about how often police use force means people believe police are 'biased'
* His comments come at a time when parts of the nation are restless due to the rising number of videos showing law enforcement using deadly force
* String of fatal police shootings seen people demand more accountability
* But Comey said people had 'no idea' whether shootings are getting worse

"He said dramatic videos of fatal police encounters and the lack of reliable data about how often police use force have fueled a belief that 'biased police are killing black men at epidemic rates'.

'It is a narrative driven by video images of real and gut-wrenching misconduct, by images of possible misconduct, by images of perceived misconduct,' he said.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3843028/Comey-Lack-use-force-data-fuels-talk-police-bias.html

Here's "data" --

Chicago - Final 2015 Totals
Shot & Killed: 444
Shot & Wounded: 2552
Total Shot: 2996

Chicago - Police-Involved Shootings in 2015
Shot & Killed: 9
Shot & Wounded: 16

Again, it would seem that police-involved shootings are statistically insignificant -- a mere chip of wood floating atop a tidal wave of senseless killing in a "community" that insists upon insisting that "Black Lives Matter."

You also need to look at who ran the state, good mix from both parties:

But perhaps the most enduring culprit is the “Edgar ramp,” conceived in 1994 by Republican Gov. Jim Edgar as a 50-year program to stabilize the retirement systems.

Edgar set a goal of having the systems 90 percent funded by 2045. For the plan's first 15 years, payment levels were set artificially low—effectively shorting the pension systems each year—and then ramped up significantly in later years. This allowed politicians to comply with the required payments at the start while hoping that future leaders would find billions of dollars down the road.

OT -- Great article by Prof. Kevin McDonald --

"We are nearing the climax of a watershed election. The Ruling Class understands that Donald Trump represents a counter-revolution to all they have built up over the last 50 years.

"This phenomenon has inspired an important essay from Angelo M. Codevilla, a Senior Fellow of the Claremont Institute and emeritus professor of International Relations at Boston University.

"Codevilla’s basic idea: the cultural revolution of the last 50 years has destroyed America as a constitutional republic. As many on the Alt Right have noted, there is nothing left to conserve. The question now is where our post-republic period will take us.

"The elites...understand that in the last 50 years they have completely upended the old order in America. They have created a revolution that opposes the most fundamental interests of the historic...American nation.

"The top-down nature of this revolution cannot be overemphasized. There was never a demand by a majority, or even close to a majority, from any Western country for a complete transformation...

"Trump represents an inchoate backlash against this revolution. But we have entered an era where it is too late to simply turn back the clock. The changes have been too drastic.

"Because it is difficult to imagine a Trump presidency even thinking about something so monumental as replacing an entire ruling elite, much less leading his constituency to accomplishing it, electing Trump is unlikely to result in a forceful turn away from the country’s current direction. Continuing pretty much on the current trajectory under the same class will further fuel revolutionary sentiments in the land all by itself. Inevitable disappointment with Trump is sure to add to them.

"Codevilla’s conclusion is worth pondering:

"We have stepped over the threshold of a revolution. It is difficult to imagine how we might step back, and futile to speculate where it will end. Our ruling class’s malfeasance, combined with insult, brought it about. Donald Trump did not cause it and is by no means its ultimate manifestation. Regardless of who wins in 2016, this revolution’s sentiments will grow in volume and intensity, and are sure to empower politicians likely to make Americans nostalgic for Donald Trump’s moderation."

Word is they are tearing down existing housing in the Altgeld Gardens public housing complex. The existing housing stock is contaminated over the years by previous residents with pork products. Word is that thousands of Syrian refugees will be relocated to this complex. Let’s build them new housing for our appreciative guests. Pork exposure would violate religious customs or civil rights of our new guests, so the American taxpayer must once again foot the bill to accommodate the newest underclass or imported voting bloc.

The previously scheduled Latin American immigrants will be cast aside because the newest middle eastern humanitarian crisis can’t be addressed by other Islamic countries. Namely, Saudi Arabia with its high standard of living and affluence has the smarts as not to disrupt their way of life with a massive constantly multiplying like rabbits underclass. Saudi Arabia is smart enough not to import the world's problems, so why do we?

It should come as no shock or surprise that many of the "Democratic" elected officials in Chicago and Cook County in the Age of Obama use the "D" party label as a pose for election purposes. More than a few of the so called "Progressives" have ties to other political parties that have clandestine histories such as the "Socialist" and "Communist" parties.

Do some deep research on these leftists and you will find some familiar names of "community organizers" who have served in the Chicago City Council, the Cook County Board of Commissioners, the Illinois General Assembly, the United States Congress and the White House, who are actually committed to other political ideologies not friendly to the American Dream and the US Constitution. Investigate the names of Danny Davis, Robin Kelly, Jan Schakowsky and others and you will see that they are not truly "Democrats." They are Saul Alinsky type radicals.

The public doesn't know how unions work, and they don't need to.

Only 11% of the US is unionized. That means 290 million people don't know shit about "local FOP" vs "national lodge." They only see that cops love Trump. Cop=Trump. It's boringly simple.

And you know what else? Non-unionized people don't need to know the difference--just like you don't care about their job situations.

In this case, it's the local FOP's job to distance itself from an association with someone who hates veterans, the disabled, immigrants, blacks, women, etc.--because it makes the police look like they hate veterans, the disabled, immigrants, blacks, women, etc.

Pawar's just a messenger; he's unimportant. You know who shoots messengers? The bad guys do.

Shame on everyone.

Oy Vey. I can't wait till this election is over. We need to come together. Even if we put 10 million new police on the streets of Chicago or anywhere else, it will not stop crime nor a create a magical, utopian vision of complete law and order. A police officer would need to be in every home, car, corner, store, office, classroom and on and on and on....There is very little the police can do about mental illness, substance abuse/misuse, impulse control issues, abject poverty and lack of education. Lastly, do we really want to create a police state?

1:45 AM Be careful what you wish for, if Residency was dropped and City workers were allowed to leave , what would your homes be worth?

I think you are stuck between a rock and a hard place ! If you are young , go to another LE agency, if you are at 20 yrs or close lock up that Pension, then find another gig.

I had lived in the City for 60 yrs and when I retired from the CPD I moved to the suburbs and never looked back.Think long and hard before you make your decision and good Luck!

Our homes, except for those on the VERY narrow outer fringe of the city, would be worth pretty much the same as they are now. Since the outer fringe is overpriced because of city workers, you might see a little dip there.

What's MORE important is losing your ability to vote on the issues that affect our jobs and our pensions. I will ALWAYS maintain an address in the city, somehow, some way, so I can have a say in the financial decisions that affect my life and my pension.

And the Project Veritas O'Keefe video is 15 minutes long but worth the view. Jan Shakowsky's husband prominently featured. As a female I'm embarrassed for my gender falling in line with the sexual harassment bs thrown out by the Clinton campaign. That's between Trump and the alleged "victims, none of which ever filed a police report nor have corroborating witnesses but instead waited till a few weeks before the election to unload. Give me a break. Thank you, Chicago Police, for all you do. It is sincerely appreciated.

You quote Angelo M. Codevilla, "Because it is difficult to imagine a Trump presidency even thinking about something so monumental as replacing an entire ruling elite, much less leading his constituency to accomplishing it, electing Trump is unlikely to result in a forceful turn away from the country’s current direction. Continuing pretty much on the current trajectory under the same class will further fuel revolutionary sentiments in the land all by itself. Inevitable disappointment with Trump is sure to add to them.

Sorry we don't need no stinkin', Trump bashing, intellectuals with no imagination. I can imagine a Trump presidency and it will be a lot of hard work, sacrifice and encouraging liberals to open their minds, but won't it be worth it to save our country? We have residency due to STATE LAW, not simply because the city wants it. They placed it into law to insure it would remain intact, otherwise we would probably already have it. The legislature which is democrat controlled would have to repeal it and we all know that aint happening.

10/17/2016 11:14:00 AM

that does not mean that the courts can't and won't overturn the law, but it would be an expensive court fight. I don't believe there is a major city in the US that still has residency. And, if this state law only applies to Chicago, there might be a chance on over turning it.

10/17/2016 10:22:00 AM

Be careful what you give up for the residency requirement.

Do NOT give up ANY contractual protections or benefits. You will NEVER get them back.

You can always sell your house and move. You can't get your benefits back.

Besides, unless you move far out of Chicago,it's more expensive to live in the suburbs. Check out the taxes, water bills, trash collection, etc.

We are not talking about if it's more expensive, grass greener, etc. to live out of the City. We should have the RIGHT to live where we want like any other citizen or any other LEO in this nation and not be stuck here like indentured servants.

It's bad enough I am stuck here "as a condition of employment", but now my family are prisoners here too and exposed to scum and dangerous people, and my kids are denied the opportunities they may have growing up somewhere else.

It's bogus, it's garbage, and everyone knows it. Now that the political elite and media have teamed up to take a shit on us, and scheme to deny us our medical benefits and pension, WHY ARE WE SITTING DOWN AND TAKING IT? Why are we still playing nice with these disingenuous slime balls?

Have a good lawyer take the case to a judge to have the STATE LAW overturned as unconstitutional. We lose nothing contractually. You don't have to abandon your bungalow in Mt Greenwood, but at least we will have a choice of where to live, regardless of commute or cost.

Wake up, officers.

And spare me the asinine "you knew that when you signed on" crap. I signed up to serve people. Yes, I am compensated well. Yes, the promised benefits are (were) generous.

And yes, we on CPD are being denied a basic right that every other officer from every other city in this country has- the freedom of where you want to sleep at night, without risking getting fired.

Nope, neither naysayer or troll. The gentleman is merely making a very realistic, reasonable assessment of short-term vs. long-term prospects. Trump won't solve everything, but he'll be a "good first step," setting further resistance into motion. It is a message of hope.

Last paragraph was --

"We have stepped over the threshold of a revolution. It is difficult to imagine how we might step back, and futile to speculate where it will end. Our ruling class’s malfeasance, combined with insult, brought it about. Donald Trump did not cause it and is by no means its ultimate manifestation. Regardless of who wins in 2016, this revolution’s sentiments will grow in volume and intensity, and are sure to empower politicians likely to make Americans nostalgic for Donald Trump’s moderation."

Worth your time to read the whole piece -- excellent, and much longer than can be quoted here.

"Word is they are tearing down existing housing in the Altgeld Gardens public housing complex. The existing housing stock is contaminated over the years by previous residents with pork products. Word is that thousands of Syrian refugees will be relocated to this complex. Let’s build them new housing for our appreciative guests. Pork exposure would violate religious customs or civil rights of our new guests, so the American taxpayer must once again foot the bill to accommodate the newest underclass or imported voting bloc."

10/17/2016 01:36:00 PM

Something has been going on. Didn't see anything specific about pork, but I'm looking.

"The Chicago Housing Authority is in the process of redeveloping 160 acres of Altgeld Gardens Murray Homes Complex in an attempt to revitalize this public housing development and the surrounding Riverdale community. The project encompasses renovation of 162 separate buildings and construction of seven new laundry buildings. The design and construction work is being done in six phases and in a time period of over eight years."

Perhaps the neighborhood needs a Moo And Oink to provide "an island of economic stability?"

To the previous posts regarding the upcoming contract: Yes, you're correct about the lengthy process to get the new contract approved by the City and ratified by the rank & file in past years. However, since Rahm has a castrated lap dog as the current FOP President, he will want the contract in place before we can elect a real President and Trustees who will do the right thing and fight to preserve what we now have.

Apparently the current membership likes that type of leadership and elected one of the Nolan team as president after 16 year absence. Brilliant.

We moved to a very nice suburb from Chicago and the taxes are the same as I was overpaying in Chicago.
The Chicago taxes were going up also.
The cost for sewer and garbage is actually cheaper than in Chicago now. Our water is about the same or a little less. One thing to note is the insurance for our home and cars is much lower. Our cable and natural gas is way lower without the rahm fees! The price of gasoline is lower and we don't have an extra tax on pop, bottled water or shopping bags! Oh ya, the schools are actually great with kids at grade level and above.
Thanks rahm, you forced me to be the last person from my family, (in Chicago since 1850's), to leave Chicago. Why was I there as long as I was??? Retire as soon as you can and leave... it's not like they give a fuck.
