Now 595 dead. Weekend should make it 600. Warm weather coming. Holidays coming. Two months left in the year. It's going to close. 700 just might happen.

The way a good chunk of the weekends have been rocking along, with some of the 2016 weekend stats being roughly equal to the COMBINED numbers for '14 & '15, 725-730 seems not only possible but probable. HJ's numbers for this weekend as of 2200 Friday show 16 shot, 4 KIA,
with 8 shootings in Garfield Park. All of the Garfield shootings happened on Maypole including a party of 7 (1 KIA) catching lead in the 3300 block.
New Year's Eve falls on a Saturday night this year, and a lot of people will be off on Monday the 2nd, so 2017 will start out on the manic side as well.

Now round down to 2.0 per day = {Y}. Take 77 x {y} or 2.0 = 154. The final total will be 595 + 154 = 749. this simple math if true will make Chicago the murder capital of the world. Do not let the Democrats tell you otherwise come Jan 1st 2017 when the totals are in.

Despite all this persistent negativity, Chicago is still a great place to live. All of this violence and mayhem is only concentrated in small parts of the city. The other parts of the city are vibrant and full of energy. Last weekend my wife and I went to downtown/Michigan Avenue. It was wonderful to see so many tourists at Millennium Park. All those different languages pouring in to my ear. Plus tourists from the suburbs and out of state. Developers are building 8000 luxury high end apartment buildings in downtown alone. Yes, things are that bad. Oh yeah, we are the next Detroit.

Does anyone know if JeyJackass counts the Shootings on the Expressways inside city limits in their stats? We know the CPD brass does not. Yeah, I know what you are saying "that is all". I remember riding around Armitage and Halsted in the late 70's making fun of the "Volunteer Victims", yuppies buying apartment buildings in that shit neighborhood. Man, am I glad I never invested any money if real estate in Lincoln Park/DePaul area, I would have lost it all!
Chicago is the next Detroit, the fight of the middle class continues on both sides of the city limits line. Cook(Crook) County loss, what 30,000 since the 2010 Census, Chicago 100,000 plus. Chicago has more empty storefront since '10. Crime has spread from its Historic home in Austin, Garfield Park, Englewood, etc to Lakeview, Rodgers Park. Even the Mag Mile area is hit with shootings and mugging regularly. The state of Illinois is leader in sheding people. In 2015 loss more jobs than it created. The city, county and state finances are joke! The unfunded liabilities of all three levels of government are in hunreds of billions of Dollars. To top it off Chicago is just missed by one making the top ten most expensive places to live in the U.S., and North America.
