As if these jobs arent already doled out to the community alderman. Should be a very fair and impartial group. Because everything in Chicago is legit.

Hmmmm...
It would seem that if the powers that be were
as smart and politically savvy as they desperately want
everyone to think they are, they wouldn't tie the COPA
investigators to municipal residency so as to foster
impartiality and independence.

No ties, no taint and no corrupting influences.
Right?

COPA investigators residence of record will
be public knowledge thanks to FOIA
requests by the media and other organizations
with an agenda.
Right?

Of course with the now fully weaponized mob
of professional grievance mongers could be
counted on to play nice and not do shit like
dox these bright-eyed and eager COPA
investigators... Or other fun and frolic like
following them home/running them off the
road and such.
Right?

Give this Shit-Show time...
They'll end up feeding on each other
When Policemen get smart for real
and make themselves scarce like a
Mofo.

Or are these notions just mere farts on a windy day?
With the wind at your back...

Meanwhile...
Rahm Emanuel's political vehicle is crashed on
the side of the road and burning like a m/fer
with him pinned behind the wheel...
>I think I'll run for a 3rd term<

Translation:
"I can't believe I fucked up so badly
that I have to stay here, run and try
to dupe these fucking Chicago yokels
into voting for me again."
Right?

So funny that he torched his own bridge of escape
back to D.C.

Heh...
That political vehicle is fully
engulfed in flames and there's
a blackened skeleton in the
driver's seat clutching the wheel.

Jest a grinnin' y'all...

The real comedy begins when the
flat-bed shows up to haul that
crispy and banged-up wreckage away.

"We're gonna stick it in the Cops ear!"

One hell of an epitaph.
No?

Meanwhile?
Police Like You Have No Friends.

Look on the bright side, COPA investigations will be fertile ground for new civil rights litigation brought forward by individual police offiers as cases warrant. Given the track record of Cook County and Illinois politicians when it comes to lawful conduct, there may be new roads for social justice and enrichment in a form of "blue lottery". The people hired to be so called COPA investigators will be clouted and incompetent further enhancing ecomomic opportunity. How ironic would it be for Ed Burke to be doling out money from the city treasury for payments for mis conduct and mistakes by COPA?

They won't have to live in the city. They can just use their play cousin's address in the city. No one will be investigating them anyway.

I love this:

And, there is no salary listed.

WGN reported this morning that COPA will have a total of 145 employees. Plenty of spots for those that have the clout to get their people in.

Look a little harder...candidates cannot have been sworn CPD officers for a minimum of five years prior to applying. Is this even legal?

The City HAS to tie the COPA investigators to city residency.

City ordinance: All members of the City employ shall be city residents. Originally passed in 1929.

In order for the COPA Investigators to live out, the ordinance would either have to be amended to allow them or repealed entirely.

Both are floodgates that the city does not want to open.

I am a recent retiree looking for work, so I am on different job websites a lot. This job announcement is up there with the caveat that no former CPD officers can apply(not that any retired copper with a soul would apply) if they are not less than 5 years gone from the department. It dawned on me that they kinda fucked themselves out of getting any kind of "Patricia Hill" type of investigators for a while with that stipulation. But who am I kidding...I am sure there were more haters than that bitch who have been gone more than 5 years. It will be interesting(and probably predictable) who the former "police" are that apply.

You aren't kidding. There are so many teachers living outside the city I actually thought they weren't required to. Come to find out they are and I was shocked. These are young teachers too. I guess no one investigates them and if they get caught they just work elsewhere unlike police and firemen can.

I somehow missed this post.

WTF????

I thought the city and county were broke?

I am sure these jobs are NOT minimum-wage. Although, I am sure they will be "minimum-skilled" if they are all clout positions.

Are they going to build a building to house these people? I am sure it will be the COPA Cabana.

No one better say the city is broke when they are doing a wholesale hiring of more clout hacks.

Better to do this - Cut the Aldermen down to 20 and put 10 Aldermen and their staffs into this COPA thing.

Net result - you STILL save money because now you only have 30 Aldermen and staff on the payroll.

WOW- I should have Rahm or Preckwinkle's job. At least I came up with something "quick" - not months in the making and it is a LOT better than adding a penny an ounce to soda sales.

If you are a teacher for CPS and have a special skill such as a Special Ed teacher and live outside the city when you apply and get hired they give you a waiver, but if you should ever move into the city, then the residency rule kicks into effect. And yes there are tons of older teachers who live outside but it really seems like just coppers can't go outside. There are still alot of CFD how live outside and don't get bothered. Only PO PO.

Tomorrow is my five-year retirement anniversary. So maybe I'll apply. And if I'm denied, maybe I'll sue because they're biased.
