Making that Money
- Over the past nine years, two nephews of former Mayor Richard M. Daley have been involved in separate plans to redevelop a rundown warehouse on 15 acres of polluted land in Little Village just north of the Stevenson Expressway.
It hasn’t turned out well for Chicago taxpayers.
First, taxpayers have to make up for $4.2 million in city pension money invested on behalf of teachers, police officers and other city workers that ended up squandered on failed development plans involving Daley’s oldest nephew, Robert G. Vanecko.
Now, taxpayers stand to lose another $4.1 million on the same property at 3348 S. Pulaski Rd. That’s the amount of a property-tax break given to a second redevelopment deal for the site.
Amazing how that happens - a magical last name and everything you touch turns to millions of dollars while we have to sweat even getting a pension and losing all medical coverage.

This fucking city is so corrupt yet still the dumbass people keep voting in those who make this city corrupt by making it work for them, their families and friends; while the little guys foot the bill. Water bill going up, Property tax bill going up. Fees going up. Phone charges going up. Electrical going up. Ever look at your food bill receipt and notice the different taxes on it? There's an old saying regarding taxation, "If you pluck the feathers of the goose once too many times in the same spot, the goose will go bald in that spot." The demorats who run this city, county and state by all accounts don't care if the goose goes bald in any spot. It is after all, 'The Chicago Way'.
Milwaukee just got rid of its residency rule. Chicago is holding out, knowing that if it loses the residency rule every city worker will flee the city, housing prices will drop, by the same token taxes on homes will plummet and revenue will drop.
There are the elites and there are the little people. Sometimes the little people have to pay so the elites can maintain their lifestyle. These are the American royalty and the nobility of America. The Bushs' the Clintons' the Kennedys', are the Kings and Queens. The rest are dukes, earls and Barons, who may someday become kings and queens.

The power of the political class to zone, rezone and define regulations means a property can go from little to a lot in value or from let's' say 200K in value to 800K in value. Let me explain. My uncle had an apartment building in Ravenswood and he tried to get the permits to knock it down and build a large condo building with large commercial spaces. This was at the corner of Lawrence and Damen Avenue. The political ruling class would let him demolish the property if only he replaced it with what he already had. Finally he sold it and a real estate developer from out of state bought it. They too had difficulties getting it rezoned to build a large commercial and large condo building. They did not know how the Chicago way works. Finally they sold it to another developer and then all of a sudden they rezoned it and they were able to build a large commercial store front (it has a CVS on it), a large parking lot and about 30 condo units. My uncle was cheated out of 3 to 5 million dollars. Such is the Chicago way.
Rahm with another tax shoved down our throat. S0.07 per bag while shopping.. this is on top of all the city taxes on items in the bag. He is taxing us out of the city. Milwaukee just got a favorable decision for their employees who wanted to secure the right to live where they chose. Meaning residency requirements for Milwaukee city employees will be lifted. It is time all city employees here stick together and call for the same.
The political class in this town have been making money on the backs of taxpayers, it seems, forever. Are the elected officials losing their healthcare after they retire? Are teachers? No to both. Being a career politician is not what was intended, but they make it that way. It was to be a term of service to the community, not a lifetime ending in a very lucrative pension with many sweeteners . School boards around the state violate and circumvent state law to pad the pensions of teachers. Who is doing this for the cops and fire fighters? The Madigans, Daleys and Burkes get rich while the retired cops have to struggle.
The piece of shit reporter Novak can't write anything new this has been in the papers before. Why isn't he writing about how the liberal media is running the election. If the bitch wins and we lose the senate and the house we are fucked and say goodbye to the Supreme Court.

Read how some "developers" Daley is hooked up with are buying up like 3,200 lots in Gary. Story said "rest of northern Indiana, get ready for the wave of displaced poor people that will further swamp your social services" and, in the case of the bad ones, will bring more crime with.
Another one of these deals where they make "plazas" with "sculptures" and parks and "performance arts centers," anything that will suck tax money and grants, but still end up with no jobs for ordinary people.
Hope fully Daley will spend the rest of his life in a hospital for what he and his family has done to this city. Everything wrong with this city and it's finances has the Daley name, relatives and his friends. When dose this stop.
People think that I am obsessed over Miegs Field. I am not, for this is the key to destroy the corrupt political machine. I counted at least 13 different felonies and two deaths. There is no statue of limitations on these crimes. When the ringleader is arrested, he has two choices: A) Be a stand up guy and not say anything. Even with a short sentence, he will die in prison. His friends will say nice things about him at his funeral. B) Sing like a canary. Think of all the people that will go to jail because of him. This will cause others to sing leading to more arrests. This will end corruption because no one knows who to trust.
This will break up the corrupt democratic machine. This is why the politicians have not arrested him. The media love corrupt government and this is the reason why they have buried this story.
The Daley Friends, Felons and Family Plan are still stealing from the taxpayers. It's called Navy Pier. The Daley administration gave it away, a 99 year lease, to you guessed it, a foundation run by the Daley family. Taxpayers subsidize it up to $25,000,000 per year. And it legally protected by Little Lisa Madigan. The Illinois Attorney General protects Stepdaddy Mike and the Daleys.
