The Long View

Rahm looking to run for a third term. Evidently, his star has fallen so far with Hillary, he isn't getting a cabinet post nor an ambassadorship.

In the comments, here's someone who knows what's what in Chicago:
  • Rahm is in Desperate Mode, and his interview with the Scum-Times last week showed it.

    1. He realizes that the McDonald case has trashed his credibility in the Black Community, so he is appeasing them in any way possible.

    2. He is about to give the most decayed Black areas an influx of City business. In the Interview, where he Blessed Us by promising to run for a Third Term, he stated that he was moving the huge Fleet Management garage facility at Goose Island, the North Avenue re-fueling facility to police, to Englewood. Apparently part of the deal for the Whole Foods in Englewood was to create an island of economic stability.

So I guess the fantasy is for [a worker] who has his City job at Fleet Management, to now commute to Englewood from the Northwest Side! This of course is going to cause retirements, which means patronage jobs open to be dispensed, by Black aldermen. Expect the new Police Academy to also be developed in some abandoned area of the South side. Stimulate the Black economy with Public funds and expect Black Political Support.

Here we go again with those Chicago Values! Democrat politicians have a way of being benevolent with tax-payers money, but they never spend their own, just other peoples money!
Makes sense.

Rahm may indeed be 'pandering,' but it's a good idea for the City to invest in some of the more impoverished areas of the city.
Good for the economy, good for job creation. Not that I would ever vote for Rahm (never did), but I hope it spurs more businesses to invest and spread out on the South side.

More like a "false front" of stability, a "Potemkin village."

It will operate at a loss, subsidized by the higher prices charged in white neighborhoods -- and of course encouraged by whatever other "cooperation" the city throws the corporation's way.

SCC - There is one positive result to moving the Academy to a blighted area - let the recruits realize exactly what they are getting into before they are assigned to the shortened field training period. Unless the recruit has clout, that is the type of community that they will spend at least 6-8 years of their career attempting to serve. The PPO attrition rate will be at least 20% if they have any brain cells.

Thankfully I have a car and still mentally aware enough to be able to drive. I hardly ever purchase anything in Chicago just because of the stupidity of the Demorats who have raised taxes on all commodities. I always have my reuseable bag in my car in case I go to Evanston Aldi. Most items I purchase are from Evanston Jewel, Aldi and Valli. If I splurge at Marianos it is in Skokie or Lincolnwood at Binnys. F U Rahm and the 50 idiot alder persons.

SCC troll reader: Sharing jobs with aldermen? Does anyone remember the Shakman decree? WTF? The DOJ is here investigating the police but the politicians are something the DOJ is apparently oblivious to while at the same time the problems at the CPD are first and foremost the RESULT of the unethical politicians.

Now seriously, how can anyone not see the corruption that abounds in the DOJ? And we citizens should have full faith and confidence in our government, the DOJ and the FBI and the IRS. Are you kidding me? I used to laugh off people that predicted there would be a civil war in this country but I now think to a minor degree, under the right circumstances, I can envision it. As people become more desparate, what do they do? And with the general movement to corruption by government and more desparate people, maybe a revolution is where we end up the result of what desparate people do.

Makes perfect sense. Appease the communities that cause the most headaches. The same communities that need the most assistance and contribute the least. They get and get and get and now feel entitled to get anything!
You've created a living, breathing, breeding monster and you won't stop feeding it! Any effort by Police to contain the monster is looked upon with disdain and the Police are further handicapped.
Working, tax paying, law abiding citizens see what is happening and they're not going to vote with the monsters. Civilized people want and need law & order and if you can't deliver, you can bend over and kiss your ass goodbye, Mr. Mayor.

Let me start this by saying I hate Rahm. But look at what he was left with by dum dum Daley and look where the city is now. All of the pension funds have considerably more money in them. He claims to be hiring more officer after Daley let them fall way behind. That means more people paying into the pension. The city is way better off financially since he took over and you don't have to like him to see that.

Tiny Dancer is going to run for reelection?? Really? No bullshit? Its not April Fools Day by chance is it? (/s)

Seriously, if this asshole thinks he can get elected again just because he plans on throwing tons of taxpayer money into Da Hood, trying to mesmerize Black Voters with shiny new Public Buildings -- 'Why lookie there Mavis, Rahm put a shiny new thing in that empty lot. Damn, whatta swell guy! Weeze gotta vote for him.' -- that tells me that the Nine-Digit-Midget has zero respect for Blacks, that they can be fooled by anything, like the Indians who sold Manhattan for a bunch of shiny trinkets.

But even more so, it shows that Flaming Tutu has zero respect for the actual Taxpayers who'll be funding this Dog & Pony Show in Da Hood. That no matter how much he f--ks them with taxes upon taxes, taxes ad-infinitum, and fewer and fewer City Services, like almost zero Police protections, he assumes that they'll vote for him anyway.

So if he does run, and actually gets reelected...well...they'll be no bitching from you North & Northwest Side Yuppies when he comes raiding your bank account over and over. You deserve everything you get. And everything that you WON'T be getting!

Democrats have used the black community in every way possible to get the votes and fill their pockets with corrupt contractors. Very little actually goes into the community, simple box constructed buildings designed to last a few years because they'll get destroyed eventually. Polls know this, they know folks like free stuff. Give the crying baby a lollipop to keep them quiet.

As far as construction goes, there isn't room for ulitity buildings on the NW side. Soon Area North will be on the auction block, they're knocking down that Western Ave. bridge for more traffic flow to accomadate something big. Gas at Sunnyside will go too as soon as a developer can get federal funding to cleanup the grounds and remove the fuel tanks.

The Media is on Rahm's side 1000%. Rahm is showing his cards for the future, distracting from the violent crime. New buildings and community edevelopment will overshadow the 6+ murders and 50+ weekly murders and shootings.

The Democrats, Hillary Inc, Rahm & Co. are indeed in panic mode, it's obvious they're concerned with popular TRUMP.
Rahm is not confident Hillary will be a slam dunk, even Camp Hillary is shaking. David Axelrod (D) one of the most brilliant of strategists and advisors ever, is dead silent. He did peep a few mishaps about the HRC campaign last month and he hasn't been quoted since.
Go figure.
Illinois probably will have a very strong showing for Trump, beyond what they want you to believe.
Don't believe the polling. Get out and Vote TRUMP.

Just heard that Rahm is budgeting $1 million for folks to obtain city issued personal ID cards. More Free stuff.

looking at this from the outside, I would suggest no one w/o clout is likely to enter the Chicago PD academy thinking they are going to graduate and get some plum job without first spending time in the hell holes of Chicago.

If they do, they probably are too dumb to be cops in the first place and need to wash out.

It appears that his relentless disdain for the Police Officers, he and his media flunkies have hobbled and demoralized them to total ineffectiveness. While the inner city black-on-black violence issue is unmentioned and continues to spiral out of control.

These 2 course are converging to create a city that will become unlivable in the not-so-distant future.

Not a cop but makes sense - seen it already in government. The military just did away with 20 year retirement. New service members now get TSP with matching contributions - no pension. Those already in have their retirement but can opt in to the new system (nobody in their right mind would do so).

While not a huge fan, I used to occasionally frequent the Whole Foods grocery stores in Lakeview (where I reside), and Edgewater (where I work) as they are closer than nearby Jewel stores.
Not any more. I refuse to patronize my local stores and pay higher prices so than Englewood residents can shop at their Whole Foods and pay lower prices.
What kind of crap is that?
How does the senior management of Whole Foods essentially justify exploiting white people by charging them higher prices so that poor black people can shop at a store that they otherwise couldn't afford?
They know they will be operating at a loss.
Why didn't the city encourage an Aldi or Jewel or other moderately price store to move to Englewood?
The whole thing stinks. Someone's getting money out of this.

Google 832 W. 63rd, Whole Foods.
Then search 'grocery stores' on the map nearby.
You will find a pre-existing Aldi TWO BLOCKS east of Whole Foods, at 620 W. 63rd

There is also Sav A Lot ten blocks from Whole Foods, another nearby Aldi's and Food For Less no-frills grocer.

The whole thing is hipster-hype. Obviously, if you don't have a Whole Foods near you, you don't have a 'real' grocery store.
