Hey look, assignments for the new guys and gals:
011 got four new lieutenants, so it looks like half of the Johnson v Johnson Homicide Race is chasing out the previous leadership.006 got three. A smattering of others here and there.
Amusingly, we got an e-mail or two from people in the know - it seems the new lieutenants were given a list of places that were open for assignment and they ranked their choices. 018 wasn't on the list, but somehow, someone landed there. Odds are he makes commander within 12 months.

It's always good to get new blood that is experienced and street wise. These new Lt's will help a lot.
When are they going to make Detectives and Sergeants, and how many?
Give it till early next year and there will be another move after everyone with clout makes their calls again. What's old is new and what's new is old.
T.w.who is going to 18 was the biggest muscle head douche as a fto in 020 along with c.m. as po he was cool and when a white shirt went on he became a big jag.
The same thing happened with the last Sgt class. They were told some districts were closed, but people still went to them. It's a non issue and not a conspiracy either.
The Johnson 011 command staff. - Where should we start? When you see bosses bidding out obviously there is a problem. Commanders will always need the entire district to get the job done. When you treat people like shit behind their backs guess what it ain't going to go well no matter how many people you bring in. Why? They can't do the job by themselves plus they don't have the right attitude. Two years I give them and they will be gone too!!! Don't let the door hit you on the way out and thanks for not doing anything productive.
The guy that went to 018 is a solid dude. He made both Sgt and LT on his own by score, no merit.
018 didn't need a Lt either, go figure
There are always a few spots that aren't on the list, but someone ends up going there anyway. And, not surprisingly, that person always ends up in a sweet spot

As a lieutenant, they are all sweet spots.
Georgas and West will both be off the street in no time.
Hopefully the most violent districts will get the most experienced LT's or the aldercreatures will be pissed!

O.T. Did Special Ed make that new Chicago Police/Cubs tribute video? Only thing that stood out from watching the video was him in it throughout and 9.5 in the video too much as well. How about the department REALLY put a tribute video together for the Officer's that worked their asses off during the series!

TW is a good guy. I've had many encounters with him over the years and he's always been nothing but really nice and positive. Now days it's rare that a good guy gets promoted, especially by his own scores so good for him.

This job is so screwed up, Tom Lamb was the acting CO of SWAT, this guy is a dedicated solid guy and they send him to 9. Now I know that they want you to gain some experience but he is not a new guy on the job. I hope he only spends a few months in 9. Good luck and congrats Tom.

Feel bad for 024. MUNIZ was an ass hole in 010 wanted to write up anyone and everyone on the streets. So the good LTs stuck him as DSS. Cant imagine how he will be as a LT. Keep your distance guys/gals in 024. U have been warned.
Off topic: One of the most stressful times of the year for me is furlough selection deadline! I can't wrap my brain around the fact that I have to pick/request 2 little 12 day segments out of a 365 day year to be off and then hope I'm lucky or unlucky (depending on how you look at it) enough to have the amount of senority to get the ones I want or something close to them. I don't ever want show up in that monkey suit again so how do I make choices from such puny options? All they do is stress me out even more when they do come around wondering if I'll be able to make the best of the little time off I've got coming and everyday thinking how before you know it, it will be over and time to go back in.

Doesn't matter that one retired , They now have 2 on ea watch , days always only had one and midnights has 3 Lt with EVT, so it's a Lt spot filled that isn't needed

It is a clout spot like it always has been. LT's don't leave the office anyways, he'll be safe and sound no matter where he goes.

That's funny, cause he didn't do shit in IAD. Sat on the same four cases for years. Well the joke will be on him, DOJ has been taking a look, lots of inattention to duty CRs coming to IAD, all the way up to commander. Of course the noble chief will walk away.

Rahm added 50 more LT's to the budget next year, so there will be more made. Merit packets for Sgt are not due until the 19th. After that it will take about 2 months to do all the interviews. Expect 2 classes of about 80 sgts and 25 Lts before summer. As for detectives, merit interviews are going on now. First class around the end of January. Good Luck to all.

That was until Maria Soapy Pena and Cynthia "have a blessed day" White got there.
There are still a lot of good cops there and they need a Boss who is a real Watch Commander not one of these silly ass District Station Supervisors.

Its a shame how numb nut Commander Cesario asks PO's at roll call for their police resumes and gives them a due date, then all of the sudden he's on furlough and within 3 days he's gone. I guess the coppers in 019 aren't worth the effort since he got dumped out of 019. Now they have Commander Buslik another miracle worker who was a subject matter expert; Yama, yada, yada.
But I bet you will see merit sergeants made from 014 by Buslik although he is in 019 now or maybe new transfers that come in from 014 and get nominated by 019 commander. So lets see what happens in the spring and when the merit sgt interviews
Nepotism and politics at its best, for all the coppers that work hard and deserve to be promoted keep you heads up high because you are the backbone of the city.
Retired 6 years after a 33 year stint and see several last names of supervisors from my era, maybe not all bad but nonetheless same families holding the reigns just like the politicians that helped them get there. Only the calendar changes.
J.S. going to 11. Great boss as a sgt. Will make a great lt. 11 got very lucky with him. Very smart guy. Looks out for the troops.

It's sad that bosses would act that way considering they themselves needed an FTO in the beginning of their career. A two face boss is the worst kind of boss to have! I would respect one that tell you straight up if they don't like you. Leave the FTO'S alone, they already have it bad enough. congrats to the new LT's

009 is not 011 for sure but I do think they have close to 60 murders and over 200 agg batts with a handgun this year. Certainly not paradise by any measure and probably puts that District in the top 5 most violent in the city. It definitely isn't what it used to be. Just saying

This is the guy who got married in Peoria the same time the Dets test was being given, and was able to finagle taking the test in Peoria with his bridal party that were also on the job. Amazingly they all got promoted and he wrote a thank you note to Bill Nolan fop prez at the time thanking him for making it all happen. True story. Knew Bob when he was in 012 a whiny crybaby lazy ass, in other words perfect supervisor material.
