Hey Northsiders
Here's an interesting little website with all sorts of info on Aldercreature Arena.
Click here for a history of his rise and the lies, dirty tricks and skeletons he covered up to get there.

In the meantime, Ed Burke used a procedural motion to temporarily stall the CHA project building Arena (and Rahm) is trying to bring into 016 to lead to the latest round of "block busting:"
- A plan to demolish a vacant food distribution site in the heart of Jefferson Park and replace it with a storage facility and apartment complex failed Monday to win the support of the City Council's zoning committee.
Although the council typically defers to the alderman of each ward when it comes to matters of zoning, Ald. Edward Burke (14th) stepped in during what had already been hours of contentious testimony about the plan to build a five-story, 68-foot warehouse at 5150 N. Northwest Highway.
Burke demanded that a roll call vote be taken to determine whether enough members of the committee were present for a vote to be valid. When it became clear that there was not enough members of the committee still present for the seventh hour of the meeting, the session was adjourned — much to the delight of opponents of the development.
No idea what pressure was brought to bear on Burke for this action - he doesn't seem to care that often. Perhaps he saw the north side going renegade and voting republican for generations instead of kowtowing to the Machine.

Jerry Mander the area YAY!!!! Send assholes from CC lockup and SS districts to rob, steal and chase out the tax payer and turn the area into more a shit hole if it wasn't getting there fast enough
Interesting when you think about it. Burke has a dog in this north side fight and it is most likely the Archdiocese. The current property was used by FSP for a couple of decades. FSP is the Archdiocese food service program. As we know, Burke and his wife are squeaky tight with the Cardinal. Burke sensed something shady with the deal the corp council signed off on with owner of the property. Burke used a rule maneuver to squeeze Arena. Eddie isn't going to make a play unless there's something good in it for him. Let's see what Arena is going to give up to get Burke, and maybe the Archdiocese, to back off.
Why are these storage facilities popping up all over now? There's something behind their tax break or something along that nature. 22 for example. There is a massive facility off of 111th just west of western. Now there is gonna be a new massive one just east of 111th Pulaski. Why??? Why did you allow two in your ward O'Shea??
Maybe it would be a good thing if the Northside dig start voting republican (for generations). Someone, somewhere has to start breaking up the machine.
Just put the building by Depaul (see next story). Let the liberals back up what they promote.
Police neighborhoods need to wake up. Let your alderman know if they change zoning for kick backs were voting them out no matter where they have a ward.
Burke blocked it for now because his cut is not sufficient. You see folks, the whole deal is about how the money is distributed among city officials and developers. This project is about a payday for city officials who have to approve it. I do not believe it has anything to do with the north side going rogue.
Sometimes you have to pretend it is still a democracy.....
Do not make the same mistake as last time. Put a decent hard working fireman, copper or businessman. Be aware the shills put forward by the machine that obviously owns Arena. Or do what our Founding Fathers wanted us to do, pick someone like us to represent us.
I hope Garrido runs again. He will win by a landslide.
Beware Northsiders
This project was getting too much heat so it was tabled.....for now
Expect the project to be given the green light quietly with another "trick" procedure when no one is watching
Arena knows this which is why he is not screaming bloody murder about interference in his ward
OT :
I seem to remember a policeman in the late 70's, working in a 12th precinct detective unit in greenwich village ...."Carl Levitt"......trying to become somebody. Strangely similar to our Dean.....
Someone else said "no" .....try Radar O'Reilly....I said "don't you ever say that!!"..
Oh yeah...BTW.....Arena is Satan.....
Private Fecundus
The backlash is ferocious up here.
This may cost Emanuel reelection because NW siders think he is behind this and are willing to "kamikaze" vote for WHOEVER his strongest opponent is.
And it's not just old white people. Many Hispanic families have invested lots of money into homes in the 45th and are pissed off that Emanuel is allowing Arena to fill the area with shitbirds.
Kill the NW side and you've killed Chicago.
This is bigger than a Arena. Preckwinkle held a fundraiser for him. I'm guessing she told him that if he helps her get these CHA building in 016 she will reward him with some politcal position.
12:18 AM
"Jerry Mander"? Who he be?
Next time, try gerrymander.
The cops, firemen and other city employees in that ward have been the staunchest defenders of the city's residency policy then all other city workers in Chicago combined as your property taxes literally doubled.
Now you're angry?
Maybe had you considered whats best for ALL city workers and supported dumping residency instead of defending your own selfish interests someone else would give a f_ck.
Now you're getting it stuck right in your @ss.
Nice job people. Enjoy those section 8 mutts and keep voting for pro-residency democrats.
Why are these storage facilities popping up all over now?.................
Cartels need someplace to store their goods in the sanctuary city!
Burke will make money on this trust me he is also a RAT for the government
Ald. Burke did the right thing here. He should be thanked For stepping in we need all the help we can get. Arena doesn't care what hard working decent people who want to live in a nice neighborhood think.
You are wasting your time on him. You need to pressure other elected officials like Rahm and those from the area, Sen Mulroe, Rep Martwick, Cong Quigley to openly oppose this community wrecker. These people represent us, and simply cant be allowed to sit back and let Arena kill the nw side.

3/29/2017 02:26:00 AM
Good luck with that. Who will join you in fighting the machine? That merit promoted cop down the street? The exempt rank fireman on your block? The streets and San guy on the corner who no longer is behind the garbage truck as a favor from the alderman? The guy across your street working for aviation? The water department supervisor?
ALL of whom owe the machine?
Without the threat of a residency challenge they can put a section 8 building in every ward for the next 20 years and never worry about EVER losing an election
Maybe just maybe Pat Levar reached out to Burke and is trying to undercut everything. I sure hope that is the case i have to think that Preckwinkle showing up at arena fund raising event caught the attention of city hall. Rham is not a fan of hers and this pipsqueak arena is getting too big for his britches as the ssying goes. This is city halls way of bringing this fuckhead back to earth
Soon as Burke gets the stuffed Manila envelopes game on, northwest side don't rest easy, arena is out to destroy this once great area!
This guy is the epitome of radical unhinged privilege.
He also is a bit miffed that he doesn't get the attention like his south-southwest counterparts when they have they're community demands outbursts.
Section 8'Arena has other 016 sites in his grand plan to colonize the nwside with Rahm's Kids n' Sanctuarians.
Chicago is going to shit and soon 016 will succumb to democrat blight no matter who is mayor or alderman.
The 45th Ward will go down faster than the old 36th (38) that was 016/025.
Advice: don't go overboard with add-owns or rehabs on your nwside house, contribute some to Def Comp, aggressively save, save, save money (cash on hand is king), hoard some Comp time and cash out big, then move out of the County/State at 29+1.
3/29/2017 01:18:00 AM
Massive? Whatever, let them build apartments instead, maybe we can get more trash in the neighborhood.
To all you northsiders, welcome to my world; they've destroyed the southwest side with their policies and the property value fell into the toilet. It's not that Burke and company are worried about people voting Republican, it's property taxes. Let's say the project happens and the people in that area have the means and just move out. What is going to replace the hard working people, illegals, welfare fucks, and whatever else is not paying their fair share. Their (the Democrat's) world is coming to an end and they know it. It's just like obama care, it's dead like the liberal dem's.
Who cares what Burke is getting....give him more, and keep the ghetto out of 016, and Arena with them!
3/29/2017 01:18:00 AM
You may be correct in that there's some sort of tax break for these facilities, but I'd suggest that invoking Occam's razor to your question may simply suggest that American's have purchased far too much crap than their houses can store. People own so much crap in this country that they're unwilling to discard that there's become a need for all of these storage facilities. I can't imagine there's another country in this world in which people would be willing to pay $100 a month for someone to store a 25 year old couch and a bunch of books they've been claiming they were going to read for the past 10 years.
Now Burke is asking the Cubs to not create their own network and remain on cable. Who in the fuck do these alderman think they are?? Yeah... I'm sure the Cubs will forgo billions of dollars in revenue in order to preserve whatever stock investments Burke has in cable companies.
To 01:18 AM
These are popping up all over because lots of people lost their homes in 2009-2014 and now live in apartments - everybody's gotta live somewhere (notice the explosion of apartment (not condo) buildings going up in the city) and they all need a place to keep all their stuff.
Big business these days - ugly as hell but big business.
Sad but true.
Everybody should be calling Ald. Burke office and thanking him. Pray this thing never goes up!
The Libtards don't want the single family homes anylonger. They are going to start building multi unit places all over. The libtards don't want segregation ,so they wanna stack us all on top of each other. Look around Harlem and Diversey ,north. Gigantic condo buildings ,storage and fast food places are replacing residential areas. The residency rule needs to go.
As a retired CPD officer, and resident of the 45th. ward, I would like to thank SSC for posting this. Thanks SSC for trying to bring a voice to our problem. Bottom Line is, if Arena's plan goes through, it will really be terrible. His overall plan, at this time, is for five multi storied, low income, housing projects. All within, "Shooting Range", pardon my PUN, of the Jefferson Park Terminal. The Jefferson Park Terminal, is already a very depressing place. Street people camped out and sleeping, blocking businesses. People begging, urinating in public, selling dope, etc etc. One of Arena's arguments,is we need to bring in these residents, to attract businesses to the area. Yea, right John, thanks for nothing !

3/29/2017 06:18:00 AM
Our form of government is a representative republic, not a democracy. I hear the political leftists, the media, and academia call it a democracy all the time. I would expect that mistake from them because they are stupid. If we were a democracy, they would trample the minority's side's rights.
Re the storage sites- 3/29/2017 03:51:00 PM and 3/29/2017 05:29:00 PM are both partially right- there are a lot of people who lost homes and garages.
The real issue is that we HAVE collected a lot of stuff over the past sixty years of relative affluence. Now that our families are smaller, less affluent, more mobile and ready to jump to a new job in another town, the LAST think they want is to take grandma's silverplate, grandpa's collection of decoy ducks, uncles typewriters, etc. There is a coming wave of brown furniture, silverplate and 'collectible' items about to swamp the business. Look around at your own extended family and decide what you would do if you had to take it in as the relative goes into a home. Gas pumps? Car parts? Sewing machines? These storage units are the tip of the coming wave as some people try to hold on to things they no longer need but somehow still want. Paying for space-wish I had thought of it sooner.
5:29PM is correct......
People don't park their cars in their garages anymore because they store all sorts of stuff for their kids and family members who lost their homes due to the economy or divorce. Most of these people will never recover.
Chicago is loaded with these people, and they're not all shitheads.
The single family home, American dream is becoming a thing of the past. Young people aren't having families and would rather rent anyways in many cases.
A stable tax paying NW side and residency requirement for city workers is all that keeps this city afloat. People like Burke know that.
2 or 3 flat with family living there is the way to go. Hate to say, most of our kids aren't going to do as well as us even though they are supposedly better educated.
Stay close to family, fight for your neighborhood.
Well said 3:51pm. I think AMC network is is going to start a 3rd spin off of Hoarders. People, just get rid of it! Closets twice a year, garage 1x. Enterprising individuas are making millions off of ones who can't or won't discard their crap. That's a great kayak dude, but your 48 with 3 kids, it's over!
Keep writing the White House, HUD, House Committee on Financial Services, Senate Committee on Banking and Urban Affairs.
Make this cocksucker too hot to handle so that Rahm and Burke fuck him.
Keep dropping dimes to the "G" on Arena's fund raising techniques.
Defund Full Circle Communities and put John Arena in prison.

I deeply appreciate what Alderman Burke did by delaying this vote. I've contacted ALL of my representatives about my opposition to this project. I have enough time in to retire and will be leaving the area before they ever break ground. Rahm Emanuel may be the biggest loser if this project goes forward in his former Congressional district. Remember all those phone calls to conservative leaning people on the NW Side Rahm when you were in a tight election? If we move, who are you going to call in 2019?

The difference is the one at 111th near Pulaski is the last straw for the 19th Ward. We had a great turn out for the meeting on Monday night, where the people expressed their anger with the current alderman and a growing consensus for the person who appears to be a very formidable candidate. More to follow......

I hope Garrido runs again. He will win by a landslide.
3/29/2017 06:30:00 AM
I'm one ward over, but I hope he runs again, too.
But elections are expensive and he's put a lot of personal cash into his campaigns.
He's going to need a LOT of funding if he's going to make another run at it.
Facebook garrido is going to fix everything!! How to solve the problem when in doubt go to Facebook live!!
the guy is an asshole.so is his disturbed wife.bye bye arena.
I hope Garrido runs again. He will win by a landslide.
JG lost in 2011 by something like 29 votes. In 2015, it wasn't very close st all, as the southeast part of the ward voted for arena. That's not exactly city worker territory. I voted for JG twice. I know how much he had into those elections. Not only extremely expensive, but very very time consuming. If JG does run again (and I don't think he will), he will have to put a huge dent in that southeast end of the ward, because that's where arena beat him last time.
I hope Garrido runs again. He will win by a landslide.
3/29/2017 06:30:00 AM
No he won't. The voters have already said no to him. Use your head here.
I live out of state but will contribute money and my time to Garrido if he decides to run again. I suggest everyone who is against this project and arena do the same. If everyone threw even just a few bucks into Garridos campaign and gave him a couple of hours a month walking in the area talking Garrido up he would stand a strong chance of winning. As I said before, I live out of state but I want to see the City survive, prosper if only to ensure that the pension fund remains solvent. To those of you that don't like Garrido fine,I get that. But ask yourself this question. Who is going to work harder for you and your interests, Garrido or Arena? I think the answer is obvious.
There's got to be Federal money somewhere for these new projects, we have to follow the money and there will be the answer. Oh, to all of you out there, keep voting this assholes back in office.
Look, people on the NW Side still think it's legit. They vote, thinking the person is going to represent them. That's a nice and proper way to look at it. Problem is, it's not working, I.e. Senator Munrole, in office a week and voted to raise taxes. They have to start voting Rebublican because every Democrate, no matter who he/she is will go along with the party. I know that's sad, and a bit scary, but true. Just look at what's going on around you. I don't care what the vote is, it's going by party lines. God help this city and country.

This must be someone who remembers when (real) civics
was taught in elementary and high school.
This point about the (formerly benign)
misnomer of "democracy" needs to be driven home.
You know these are sorrowful times when anyone
who argues this point, especially in a public
forum, is derided as a tin-foil hat wearer.
The "democrats" have taken a shit in everything
from education to governance to political discourse
to even hijacking/perverting the language use to discuss thus.
Translation:
You can't even politely discourse with these loons
without their "feelings" bubbling to the surface.
Even "Common Sense" - "...isn't so damned common
anymore."
Great Grand-Daddy said that.
Pretty sharp insight for a
"subsistence farmer" from down
in the "yeller clay" part of
this nation.
It's sad seeing this nation
sliding over the edge and
the youth riding the debris
and gleefully waving as they
go by.

God Bless Us.

Yes, schooled in the seventies, non-public.
The left keeps pushing this meme that we are a democracy. They just hate the idea that the minority has rights. Leftists claim to be all inclusive, open minded, when in fact they are just the opposite. They would love for power to be consolidated with a strong federal government, not wanting powers to rest with the states. The left wants to rule, not govern the people. This is not what our founders envisioned.
They would just love to do away with the electoral college because without it, and with a little help of a few million fraudulent votes from illegal aliens, and crooked democrats casting votes in the name of dead voters still on the rolls, Hillary would have been elected.
But, but, but, the majority voted for Hillary, majority rules.......Democracy, two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Our founding fathers knew how evil governments could be.

The Democrats want to do away with the electoral college. They want big government to RULE the people. They tried to keep slavery. They voted FOR Jim Crow Laws. They were FOR segregation. They have consistently pushed laws and programs that make people dependent on the government. Their politicians take money from George Soros, a man that desperately wants to control this Country.
This is obvious to anyone with half a brain. Why doesn't everybody get it.

The other argument from the left is that the Russians stole the election
Well, the Russians must have forgotten California where Hillary won by over 3 MILLION votes. If they altered the election that would not have happened
