People think we're joking about Dart throwing pizza parties for inmates. We aren't:
That's for a Friday night party. There are undoubtedly tens of dozens more "authorizations" floating around out there.
We're not sure this is a wise spending of taxpayer dollars - perhaps Dart ought to be making sure the jail is adequately manned before spending money on parties?

DArt is not a lawman,he is a politician and machine tool. The only thing that will get the message thru is a federal lawsuit for unsafe and hostile work environment. Class action with injured officers taking the lead. Then subpoena the sheriffs office budget. Open the books!!! How much wasted on hundreds of new directors and pizza parties? The safety and security of detainees AND the deputies is the priority and should be funded before political jobs are made/given. Trust me, once the lawsuits are filed many other officers will come forward with their injuries and the hostile work environment. Subpoena all recent iods/work injuries and compare with past years. If there is any retaliation at work, it's illegal and the administration is further liable. Name names. Name the directors in the lawsuit and drag them into court. Ask for punitive damages on them personally (as well as Tom). You have nothing to lose as a collective! SUE!!!!!! And record conversations with public employees(administrators) whilst in the performance of official duties. County officers unite! Please forward many more pics of those nonsense memos!!!

What a slap in the face. Two guys beaten badly by the animals and whats the priority? Pizza.

Brilliant! The "pizza's" and "soda's" are for a literacy program and were requisitioned with improperly used apostrophes. The next question is who butchered the punctuation on the form - Dart or the inmates?
If they behaved, Dart should give them some small rewards. IF!!!
They are not behaving. Take any rewards away. Explain that EVERYONE must behave, and they are responsible for making sure their fellow inmates behave.
Especially since they actually are running the jail, not Dart or his Sheriffs.

The author of the equipment authorization form pictured should also consider enrolling in the program, given that s/he spelled "pizzas" as "pizza's". (The "soda's" also made me laugh.)
Mastery of the difference between plural, possessive, and contractions is a lost fundamental skill set of reading and writing. After all, my daughter took until she was eight years old to stop making those mistakes.

Not a cop. Sorry these guys got beat. But facts are facts. Guards at County bring in the drugs, cell phones and other bullshit for the inmates. Been doing this for years. Some out of fear because the inmates remember their names and shifts and it is payback time. Or some false sense of hey I got you when I get out. Then you have the women guards who fall for the inmates. So there is dirt everywhere. That food contract is insane for the garbage that is fed as well. The facility is filthy as fuck. Tom Dart will never lose because he has built a massive PR machine. Plus cops and other first responders from his area will always vote for him.
Maybe their next pizza party can be held @ Chuck E. Cheese?

That place is not a jail. Its a resort for bumbling criminals. There should never be any rewards in a jail for acting civilized. The only rewards should go to the Officers that go above and beyond in their every day duties.

Just a guess here but the names who are providing the pizza party sound like law firms. Could it be that Dart is allowing law firms that support him to pedal their legal business in the cook county jail all for the price of a few pizzas??
With Dart and Fox in office, the county has NO hope to survive. They are letting 4 generations of unemployed felons on public aid dictate how the Sheriffs office and States attorneys office should be ran. They don't back the Sheriffs office and they are literally letting the insane run the asylum. Our administration has turned into another Baltimore. Screw the pizza parties, it's time the CCSD should be ran as such. The criminals that are our inmates should be treated as inmates, not f**king children. We are rewarding killers, robbers, molesters, drug dealers, child abusers with pizza if they "behalf" for a period of time. What a joke this County has turned into.

Jail is a place of punishment. They can give them a bologna on white bread and add a slice of cheese to celebrate. If Tom Dart wants to give them pizza, then let it be frozen pizza from a jail food vendor baked by inmate workers. Those animals are in there to protect the rest of society. They deserve only basic sustenance.
IYC-Chicago used to do this if a housing unit didn't have a fight for a month. They rarely had pizza parties. That's also how they get the youth to go to their therapy groups. They get a treat at the end of each meeting and a subway party at the end group.

No Dart is nothing but a left leaning political hack that is kissing as much liberal ass as possible hoping they will vote him in as mayor.
Dart is just waiting to run for mayor and needs all the black vote he can get. He and his female directors have no experience and do not care about any sheriff personnel. Their main concern is to get his elected, even if it means officers getting hurt.

I say as long as Dart wants the inmates to run the jail, let them and have a major sick call in. When you have no confidence in your boss, and Dart has no respect for the troops it sucks.

See but that's how it works when you break the law, even in Cook County on occasion. No Harolds Chicken for dinner for you. That's the beauty of getting locked up, you lose your privlages.

I did time in county, served it on a bullshit charge, paid my fine and not heard from again. Model citizen since. But the shit I saw in County was fucked up beyond belief. I do not feel sorry for any guards there. First of all, they have a strong union. To take that bullshit is on them. Period. Dart is elected, put someone up against them and get his crooked ass out of office. The assholes that bring in the dope, phones, contraband, rat them out, oh I forgot, wall of silence bullshit. Got it. And the women selling pussy to bangers, guess that is okay also. Then the connected families with the filthy janitor contracts and the garbage food? Yep that is fine. County is where you go to fight charges. Real jail I can see restrictions but not County. Especially non violent offenders. But then again, you more than likely give your friends a pass on domestic or when they point guns in a persons face and call them a nigger, that is cool.
What's the problem? Replace weight rooms and physical activity with a 24-hour Twinkie bar, hot & cold running full-sugar pop, fatty foods, ice cream, and the rest of the foods that are no good for you when consumed in high quantities.
Fatten them up so they can't run from the police. Lower their life expectancy so the taxpayers don't have to support them as long.
If Dart is so wonderful why is there more federal lawsuits by inmates than ever. And the vast majority of them are inmate on inmate. The Sheriff has created such a disaster at his jail where guards are afraid to act and have become (fetal). The result is many inmates are attacking other inmates sexually and otherwise at will knowing their is no consequences for their actions. Even his own hired Directors admit in training class that sexual assaults are up 600%. The sad fact is there is about 100 inmates causing 95% of the problems and the victims are other inmates most of the time. Under Sheahan and O'Grady we had over 13,000 inmates at times and the jail operated much better than with 7,500 under Dart. And what rarely gets reported is the weaker inmates are the most victimized under Dart's leadership failures.
I talked to my uncle who was ASA decades ago. He said Toupee Tom almost got fired for not showing up to work. My uncle had nothing against him but said he would of been fired if his clouted father didn't save his ass. Said when he did show up he reeked of weed.

Said it would take years to clean up the jail fiasco and not interested anymore. The problem Dart has fucked up the jail so much big name people wont run. To much of a Headache.

I hear you brother, remember back in the day we would always be protecting the omega inmates while the alpha would be beating ass or worse. Now we do nothing and just let it happen. Everyone is afraid to defend someone. Let Dart or brass go in but they never do.
Why are the inmates more bat shit crazy than ever when Dart is giving them "state of the art" mental health care??? He claims 40% of inmates are mentally ill and he is the only health care provider in Illinois. He has over 100 phycologists at the jail. They are all getting paid well but do a shit job obviously..

You should black out the signature.
1 - Put inmates in their cells, single person to a cell, and leave them there.
2 - Put cameras in all areas in every part of the jail, no exceptions. No whining from inmates,it's jail, and no whining from jailers either, nobody forced this job on you.
3 - add jail time for every tiny little infraction of any kind.
4- do most movements via inmate alone, by themselves, watched of course on camera.
5- once a certain level of infractions extends beyond a life expectancy, capital punishment just like egregious single crimes are handed.
6- No more commons area, lunch rooms, or common shower areas.
7- make cameras operation a matter of public record, heck show em live and let people watch em live - offer rewards for rules violations spotted. Think it won't work? People are already doing it for Twitter cred with Live PD as they see tossings out the windows that chasing police dont see, as the witness perps drop their wares while cops are gong about the routine cuff and frisk duties.
There are ways to address every complaint and every problem. Union protectionism and democrat control greed usually stands in the way of every one of the solutions, unfortunately.
