- Chicago recorded its 300th homicide over the Father's Day weekend, just like it did last year.
The somber milestone was reached around 2:30 a.m. Monday when a 33-year-old man was gunned down during a burst of violence that saw four people killed and 13 others wounded over just five hours Sunday evening through early Monday, according to data kept by the Tribune.
At one point, officers working a double-shooting on the Near West Side late Sunday night had to duck for cover when shots were fired blocks away.
According to HeyJackass.com, the final tally was 13 dead and 56 wounded for 2017. Last year it was 13 dead and 46 wounded, so the maimings are picking up the pace.

In Missouri and Arkansas I can hear shots of different kinds of rifles, pistols, etc. In the fall, winter and spring it's just people out hunting. In the summer it's people target practicing. When game is killed, most of the time it is with one, single shot. Sometimes a second shot is necessary, sometimes.
Liberal democrats have publicly given a demonstration of their shooting ability. What was it, 50-60 shots fired and one politician wounded? If they've got a lick of sense, which doesn't seem to be the case, they ought to think long and hard before starting a shooting war with Police and Republicans.

I had a similar experience in central Indiana. About 15 guys were in a field with guns and dressed like military guys. They were attacking a barn in a mock military exercise. They set up some targets and began shooting. I was in the military and know the sound of full-auto. I learned from a farmer that the area has a volunteer group formed to protect the community from criminal types or a break down of society. I was looking to purchase real state and now I like this area even more.
Hey Mayor, I would like to congratulate you on the homicides from 2016-2017 and the 11.2 % clear-up rate....... You made this City even more dangerous, and that's what your legacy will be, and Oh, I almost forget, fuck you.
