Well Done Officer
- A Chicago man is grateful to be alive after collapsing on a basketball court.
Doctors say he’s only alive because of the actions of a heroic Chicago police officer who says, he’s "always on duty"
Read the whole article for specifics, but very well done Officer. Around 10 full minutes of CPR is exhausting, but it saved this man's life.

Remember the car is not a threat
God simply placed you at the right place and time. It was your spirit and dedication that turned that opportunity into life. You passed His test. May your ultimate reward come in your life, ever after. Great work our brother in blue, truly..."Chicago's Finest!"
Great job
Nicely done.
when it seems your job really sucks, look back on this and the impact you made. think of not just what the man you saved has an influence on, but what his kids, brothers, sisters and family for a few generations indirectly influence. Yes, you made a difference in the world. Isnt that one of the reasons you joined the force?
Great job officer be safe!!!!!
Great job officer
Job well done Office.
Another Hero on the job.
Making liars of the media every day!
J.J.
Well done, sir.
Great job officer! Please know that many of our citizens appreciate what you and other public safety personnel do day in and day out to keep us all safe. God Bless CPD and CFD.
Great work Officer Jones.
(ALL Lives Matter)
Outstanding
Outstanding!
(Please be around should I even be stricken)
You will always be a true hero that that person, his family, friends, everyone who knows you or reads your story!
You bring credit to yourself and the Department.
Retired, 30+
Probably one of the new guys that doesn't get duty availability
But but wait. Cops are the enemy - they are out to destroy humanity. How can this be???
Well done, office.
A huge "Go Fuck Yourself" to Common for his race baiting Anti-Police nonsense at Ravinia. Once again blaming the police for...everything. The only thing that is Common is that Young Black Men are absolutely out of control and putting themselves into situations that dissolve into violence. Hey Common why don't you actually acknowledge the problem and scold Black men to stop being cowards and to do the heavy lifting of STAYING at HOME and raising the children they bring into the world. No instead you pump your fist and blame the police for being forced into this sad nightmare world of Black America and the Black on Black bloodshed which is...Common.
Totally off topic. Clip from 2009 regarding NBA and race. Funny how they choose the best players based on skills and racial imbalance on the teams don't matter. My how I wish we could do the same on CPD. Just promote based on qualifications and leave race out of the question. Nobody cheats on the entrance exam into the NBA. Again all about skills. Why can't this job be like the multi billion dollar NBA or NFL? Nobody protesting at NBA games about no Hispanics or Asians on the team. Hmmm....

SCC is right *as always* - Ten minutes or more of CPR is exhausting. Prayers for recovery and Officer excellent work.
Well done. God bless.
Kudos to the officer (10 min? He must be a beast) and best wishes to the heart attack victim.
Something not widely known (since we all watch the TV shows and movies showing the miracle of CPR) is the odds that a person administered CPR will emerge from the eventualities of the resuscitation effort healthy and with a normally functioning brain are about 2%.
If you're not in the 2% you could be brain damaged or dead within 30 days after enormous hospital resources.
I know, it was news to me, too.
No one will ever hear about it. Doesn't fit the playbook.
I'm ex-copper, but I still remember that good feeling that I got every once in a long, long while from doing something that really mattered - like this. Pull a drunk driver off the street before he kills somebody ?? Save a kid from an abusive home ?? That stuff was why I went into the job originally. As the years went by, I got bitter and cynical, but every once in a while, I remembered why I had started it.
This guy just has to rest in the knowledge that HE knows he did it right. Very few others care anymore.
Damn pity.
great job partner.
