Ginger Pissing Off Aldercreatures
- Aldermen held a hearing for people living near Midway Airport who say the sound-dampening windows the city installed are stinking up their homes.
Something was missing: Chicago Aviation Commissioner Ginger Evans.
Evans was missing Wednesday, despite a summons issued by the Chicago City Council’s Finance Committee. That infuriated some aldermen and homeowners who have been complaining about the toxic-smelling windows.
Aldermen and dozens of residents were hoping to get answers from Evans. She failed to show up, sending a deputy, Aaron Framme, instead.
Of course, an aldercreature actual walking upright as if they possessed a spine would be a miracle. So they'll posture and make appropriate noises to the persons who live in the shadow of Midway Airport....and do nothing.

Who is Ginger's whack? Making 400k a year and I'm sure she was very experienced and qualified for the position when she got it.

After Ginger's demands for Dep't of Aviation Security to remove "Police" signs from their cars, O'Hare Aviation Security vehicles are still (months after her request) marked as police. This should have been done immediately following the United Airlines dragging debacle. Either Aviation Security are defying Ginger, or there is a plan in the works to resume their pretend police status (probably with Aldermanic backing).
I have them garbage Republic windows in my Midway Bungalow installed in 2002 under the sound proofing program,and not only do they stink you need a pry bar to open them up. Do you remember the property tax break the city gave Republic under short shanks administration on the manufacturing facility on the goose island property it was supposed to provide job, economic stimulus to Chicago residents. This Bullshit deal went belly up just like every other deal that the Daley Crime Family had there hand in leaving the tax payers on the hook along with the displaced employees that they shafted, and all the home owners that had these shitty windows installed by the city under the sound proofing program. The Pay to Play the Chicago Dem-o-rat way !
She is too busy steering contract to Rhams buddies to be bothered with simple people like taxpayers. How foolish Burke is to think is relevant to these people in the future. They laugh at him.
Just prior to the free windows, I had already replaced the windows in my house. I was pissed at the time, but man am I glad now. If you have the windows the city installed you're going to have a difficult time selling. I'm getting ready to pull the plug, and I've had three offers without the house on the market.
So they'll posture...and do nothing. (Unless they find a way to screw someone out of a few dollars).

Don't know what air traffic around Midway is, but if it's increased like at Ohare then that should be the at issue problem first.
Increased air traffic is a decrease in air quality, in addition to the noise.
Where's the for global warming advocates?
Ginger has no say in air traffic, pollution or when or who gets soundproofing.
When it comes to controversy, she's as scarce as Rahm.
FAA sends the city the window (soundproofing) money after a long extended study of flight paths.
The City contracts the work to the lowest of bidders who subcontracts to fly by night installers.
Global Chicago has Chinese sources that sent shipping containers filled with low grade tainted pvc windows and insulation to fourth party vendors. What did they expect, Marvin, Kolbe, Pella top,of the line?
What the city bought were not Made in the USA components.
The homeowners shouldn't have been voting Democrat all these years and that's their problem.
Thinking their Democrat Alderman is going to convince a Democrat Airport Commisioner that was appointed by Democrat Rahm into a swift resolution is nonsense.
The pitfalls for living that close to an airport because of a low valued home in another story.
In ten years or so the City will begin address the problem, case by case.

Rdos being cancelled is part of your duty availability pay. If you don't like it then have union negotiate for guys like you to not receive it and not be subject to days off being cancelled.

False. Management's ability to cancel days off is in our contract. Duty availability pay is a negotiated unpensionable monetary benefit. Contrary to common sense, the two are not connected. Ask the young kids that we threw under the bus last contract that don't get duty availability pay what their plans are for the holiday weekend. Sad truth is people who dont get duty availability for the first few years will soon outnumber those of us who do. How do you think that bene will fare in negotiations when the minority of members receive it.
The SW side waited decades for this noise relief. (Some of the homes predate Midway; most predate jets at Midway.) Now they have reduced noise but health worries thanks to the 'relief'.

Its more likely a backlog at Fleet Management than anything actually sinister. They need to be repainted.
Remember when the Revenue and Finance Departments were merged a few years back? We still have vehicles marked as Revenue and not as Finance.

I'd bet her Clout is good enough to cover her as "Its not personally her fault" that the Bus Shelter failed and paralyzed that poor woman.
And you know City Corp Council is going to appeal that verdict. But I laughed at the amount. City offered 22 million IIRC...and was shot down by the family.
To busy making over $400,000.00 a year to find time.
During the day and eve. is one thing with the planes but 0530hrs and 2330hrs and later is ridiculous every 4 minutes. Also, no "Hush House" when they repair jet engines and run them up to almost full throttle for testing is house shaking. I know, can't complain about moving by an airport but South West wasn't at Midway and planes didn't take off every 7 minutes above your home.
The noise is unbelievable if your near the path of takeoff and landing. No one enforces the time schedule outlined in the "Noise abatement."

On a brighter side the company that won the contract for the windows is out business, take the money and run, no doubt a give-me deal for some hack to invent a window company from thin air, line a few pockets and disappear.
On the other end of the shit stick, how can anyone expect anything in the city to be fixed when city money is just a handout for illegals, lazy baby momma's , friends of the 5th floor and the CTU, Chgo theft union, you know the ones who don't pay their fair share of their pension while getting consistent raises.
Ginger is quite good pounding down those free Manny' corn beef sandwich's everyday. The free food at the airport she consumed for free could of fed a small country; She prefers for Manny's to hold the horseradish !
Would Ginger get a comp from all the food vendors at the airport for big ass lawn parties and home gatherings at her home ? 400 K is hard to live on.

Fully agree no one cares about noise abatement elected are paid off simple as that!
guess that 1/3 of CPS students are illegals , anchor baby or kids with one parent , sperm donor unknown shame isn't it ?
Check out the name of the window company owner. And then find a sun times and figure out who his wife is.
