- OT: shots fired at the police in 003. Tac car struck twice. Tac Sgt terminated chase almost immediately. P.O. went over the air and said the car they were chasing shot at them and Sgt asked if anyone was hit. When the p.o. said no, Sgt terminated again. Un fucking real.
- A Chicago Police Department vehicle was fired upon during a traffic stop Monday night. It happened in the Park Manor neighborhood on the city's South Side.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 6700-block of South Rhodes Avenue around 8:25 p.m. when someone on foot fired shots in their direction. The person then ran away, police said.
We haven't heard that the unknown shooter had any connection to the traffic stop or if it was just a target of "opportunity" to take a shot at Officers doing something else. It looks like the car fled the stop, but again, it may have been a self-preservation technique and have nothing to do with the shooter. Too many unknowns at the moment.

Talk about working conditions. Even when thugs like Dillinger, Clyde Barrel and Pretty Boy Floyd shot at the Police they had a man hunt. Now this place is a joke. They have the Police they want. Welcome to the world of Judge Dred.

Mope Sgt terminated the chase and then came on the air later and told a car to recover the shell casings with gloves. I don't expect much from this dept. but I couldn't believe my ears this time.
There was no car chase for shots fired because the shots came from a guy on foot. The stopped car just happened to flee afterward, so the sergeant terminated a foot chase. If the car was just stopped for traffic, you cannot chase anyway.

Officers were attempting to conduct a t stop when fired upon from shitheads who were in front of shit head house. Swuad was hit in the rear. As vehicle sped away someone in the vehicle fired shots at the officers. But hey let's terminate. 8 shell casings recovered. 7 from one scene and 1 from the second.

Some of these bosses are so gutless and incompetent! Not many good ones left boys and girls.
When Chief Granny left for greener pastures, the made-up spot for her that lasted 9 months, the over-seer of the Feds judicial reform report, went by the wayside. No one took her place. You don't see anything on the front page of CLEAR regarding the 75 plus page report or the 5th floors "continuous effort"and our favorite political FAIL word, "transparency ". Gone. There is no intention from the 5th floor to follow or make reform. All a bunch of blah-blah rhetoric from Big Ed and Co. Don't expect any changes with the way they promote, i.e. Cheaters will continue to cheat with secret classes from the experts, merit promotions given to their own nominees by the merit panel, triple merit promotions, etc. They make their own rules up along the way, even Special Ed put in a Sgt as a merit pick, basically back- doored the promotion on a PO because his kid was killed in a shooting(RIP). Didn't even have to be "interviewed" (wink wink)and placed on the top tier by the "totally legit" merit panel. Officers with 8 years on will continue to be promoted because a current Chief is good friends with the retired mom. Rhymes with chillin. Expect Ed's cheating fiancé get promoted.., cmdr or capt as soon as he hits the kidney medical. It will be ethically "ok" cause he didn't approve the promotion, the 1st Deputy will give the sanctimonious nod. By the way, whatever happened to the CR number she got when her kid was arrested ? Don't expect anything to happen on that fiasco, It will be buried under that huge rug in IAD to make way for that deserving promotion. It's all legit.
For everyone else, now make sure you bust your butt out there so that the ACLU can point their pointy witches fingers at you for doing your job or the police board decide to fire your ass from an incident that happened 10 years ago.

I don't care what year it is, if you are willing to allow someone who attempts to murder the police go then you have absolutely no business on this job. You are a danger to your colleagues and should seek other employment. On the other hand, you would make a perfect 003rd District supervisor.

I can't believe officers would conduct a traffic stop anywhere on Rhodes Street. That entire area is a war zone.You officer's should've been at a Dunkin Donuts refilling your coffee. Stop putting yourselves in danger. You couldn't been killed. How many times do we have to say it?
The shit-heads know that they commit a traffic crash if they think that the police are pursuing, or just following them for any offense. Attempt Murder or Agg Battery to a copper, Agg Vehicle Hijacking, etc. All of our G.O.'s are public accessable. This job turned into the supervisors into a bunch of bitches because their getting fired over P.O's actions.
Someone keeps saying the mope boss saved jobs we will get em next time. The car that fired at these officers had stolen plates. There is no getting it next time it's got new plates by now. And this sgt goes into his team and the involved team the next day and says I terminated because it was "just criminal damage to property" ... grow a pair of balls. Attempt murder of two po and you terminate "cause it got on the highway and it was only criminal damage to property"
Obviously you are a crybaby douche on the mission team or tact team grow some balls and tell the mope Sergeant but you won't because you're a bigger pussycat than he is.
