If the "Shitty" acquires any of these vehicles, you can be sure the first ones will go to Rahm and his "Play/Pretend" Secret Service detail. After all, he is becoming more unpopular by the minute. Baby "G"

You're right SCC, CPD personnel will never see that type of vehicle in its motor pool. More than likely every other PD will equip its officers with these vehicles.

Besides we have the finest equipment and vehicles pennies can buy.

Is the Carbon Monoxide poisoning extra, or is that still a standard feature of the Ford Police Interceptor?

To help pay off our pension debt, the city should patent and sell a car air-freshener with a scent called "forgotten apple that rolled under the seat of a pool car".

Ha, will never happen. You have ETs who collect evidence that is supposed to be used in the conviction of criminals driving around in economy rental vehicles that can barely fit their 10+ years old camera and additional equipment. Add to the fact they are NOT emergency vehicles so don't expect them go through red lights or speed to a crime scene. It is amazing one of them have not been jacked themselves.

They look like hoarders driving around with their shit packed up all over in the trunk and back seat.

This jacked up department could have at least rented full size tahoes for use or better yet buy the proper vechiles that all other departments use for collection of evidence with compartments for all the equipment and proper storage of evidence.

There is zero support for the forensic division throughout the department and lack of proper training. There will be ZERO FI's in the very near future who were trained and had the knowledge to properly process a homicide scene and police involved shootings.

Par for the course on this department though

With all the money Rahm spends (wastes) on stadiums, bike paths, and CPS, we should be driving Bentleys.
Best way to bulletproof a beat car is to keep it out of the ghetto traffic.
Driving sensibly slow to take reports and with a wash every Saturday morning, our cars will easily last 10 years.

I was recently in New York. I saw that NYPD, has installed aproxamtely 20"x20" ballistic glass panels in the Ford SUVs. The panels are mounted inside, between the windows and front seats. They looked like the were mounted on the door post or cage extending forward, and about 1"-2" thick.
Drivers frint seat passengers are protected while sitting, no head shots.

This is something Rahm would never do.

Yea we need those. Just last night a 3rd district tact unit got shoot from the front and the rear. Officers were ok. But the white shirt terminated a chase and they let the p.o.s go. And to top it off I heared the paper for it was criminal damage to vehicle. SMH.

One thing, seriously.

Police, city, county, state cars are sold at auctions, usually.

What happens when/if the bad guys get these (with 249,000 miles?)

Like my old employer used to say, "you can be replaced. That (vehicle) can't...." and they were serious! RETIRED. NOT ILLINOIS. NOT LAW.

One might ask why FORD isn't (or Chevy or Dodge for that matter)isn't manufacturing a police model that is already factory equipped with all the bells and whistles ALL police cars SHOULD already HAVE in the first place?

The big three were on that track at one time, gee, what ever happened to that action?

Gives a whole new meaning to government motors, huh?

A few of these with machine guns and Hellfire missiles would put a quick end to vehicle pursuits. Drivers wouldn't be able to show you their license and registration fast enough!
Would hear a lot more "Yes Sir & No Sir" too. "Polite Society" would take on a whole new meaning the likes of which Chicago hasn't known in a long time.

Ford is even doing them with factory warranty certifications, been doing it for awhile and does not add much to vehicle, some cities value their police officers, our city leader rahm take a look we are losing millions next month money from the feds for policing and new equipment, simply because rahm stands up for criminals and supports criminal illegal invaders in full violation of federal laws! Why is he not arrested? Thought federal laws Trump state/municipal laws!

Ford bulks up bulletproofing in police cars
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2016/03/10/ford-upgrades-bulletproofing-police-cars/81588578/

Even hollywood weaponized cars for the good guys like:

Original black beauty:

The Green Hornet's 1966 Black Beauty

(satelite technology, rockets in front and back, bullet proof body, and more!

Then the batmobile:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uerDqAIjins

Lastly KITT:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNyXYPhnUIs

So way back when hollywood protected crime fighters, today it is so easy to upfit our vehicles with lightweight Armour, that could protect police from being victims as they are in their vehicles, but this city would rather use that money to protect illegals, and thugs and then bastardize the police awarding millions to felons and their families! Rahm toni tommy and the 50 would do anything to stay elected, they would sell their own mothers, heck some would even be caught with a hidden wedding dress that is theirs in a funky basement to get that spot!

God bless the police always and forever!!

Ford does the factory ballistic panels and with factory police equipment:

http://www.government-fleet.com/channel/law-enforcement/article/story/2016/11/2017-police-vehicles.aspx

Excerpt:Like the PI Sedan, Ford’s PI Utility offers ballistic protection, police silent mode, and engine idle.

For agencies seeking a more low-profile appearance than a traditional light bar, the optional front interior visor light bar is integrated into the top of the windshield. When activated, the light flashes alternating red and blue bars or can be programmed for red/red or blue/blue operation. It also offers white “take down” and “scene” lights.

New rear spoiler traffic warning lights feature red, blue, and amber LEDs encased within smoked lenses. Inside the vehicle, the overhead red/white dome lamp now uses LED lights.

Key Features for 2017:

NIJ Level IV ballistic protection
Silent and engine idle features
Low-profile lighting options

Key features but the bottom line the city will not pay for them, and also has goober the politically connected goofs at fleet butcher them up installing old shit police equipment! how about when we got the explorers when they were shorting out from fleet taking the computers and mounting them lower on the the floor when the snow and water came in contact they shorted out and ford rightfully refused to warranty them!

The vehicles can be fully factory equipped, with plug and play capability (everything fits as designed not put in where the wires are cut and taped together like our fleet does), this way everything is factory warranted, and if done like this we would not need fleet, take the vehicles to the dealers to get things done using factory parts the correct way! look for example at state police they get a gas card, can fuel at many stations which saves valuable time, and saves them money you don't need a fully staffed gas pump area with people that have no clue what to do! God bless the police!

carbon motors; the ovommit administration refused to give carbon a loan to start production in their new plant they wanted to build. Carbon folded. The prototype police vehicle they built was sold at auction.

Can we just bundle our last 25 years
of body armor together in an old carrier

We think it's a sight better than the

so far...
