Shooting
- A man was shot by a Chicago police officer Saturday night in the city's Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The 32-year-old victim sustained a graze wound to the head and was transported to a hospital, police said.
At about 9 p.m., officers from the 8th District saw individuals drinking in a park near West 56th Street and South Artesian Avenue. They saw one man with a gun and during a confrontation with the man, an officer fired.
A weapon was recovered from the scene, police said. The officer involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative duties for 30 days.
No cops injured. That's a win nowadays.
UPDATE: To Channel 7 reporter Will Jones, the shot guy is the "offender." You see, if he had a gun and brandished it, waved it, pointed it at anyone (except in defense of self or others), that's kind of illegal under Illinois Law. Stop being a tool of Rahm and at least get the reporting right.

over on zone 8. A quick event display didn't have much info, but I did see the vehicle pursuit was TERMINATED!!! Unreal, shots fired at the police and we still can't chase???

Yeah it was a PPO and his FTO were guarding the scene when they heard a few shots ring out.

Well, recent history shows that since the prosecutor did not see the individual with the firearm, then kim foxx will not prosecute. You see we must honor the word of someone's "auntie" who wasn't there, that he din hab no gun.
Ch 7's reporter Garcia yesterday referred to Laquan as an "unarmed black teenager". I seem to recall he had a knife, clearly visible in the video, that he had just used to shred tire(s) of a squad car. Does Ch & have an agenda, or are they just careless with the facts?

The Sun-Times has a link at the end of the article where readers can report 'Typos' --- so I did. :-)
I informed them that in the 2nd paragraph the word 'Offender' was misspelled as 'victim'.
I then informed them that the Police shoot 'offenders', and Offenders shoot 'victims' (innocent people). I then told them to correct their Style Book so this 'Typo' doesn't happen in the future.
I doubt I'll get a reply.
Other than Cheryl Scott, why even watch Ch. 7 news? Definitely not to hear Chuck Goudie claim an exclusive report taken - without credit - from SCC.

Shots fired at the police last night in 003. A pursuit started and was terminated within 30 seconds. The brass in 003 wouldn't let a pursuit happen when POs were shot at. What little faith in the bosses in 003 is completely gone.
One bullet was in the rear end of the explorer and shell casings were on the street from people on foot firing at the POs.

Shitheads shot at other shitheads about 50 feet from the P.O.'s guarding the crime scene of a prior shooting a couple of hours before. The fact we are standing there no longer matters. They do not care because they know we will not chase them. morale in 003 has always been awful but after this latest incident its hit rock bottom. No faith in leadership at the district level and no faith in the department as a whole. Screw CPD this department is crap, im leaving soon.
