Is Crime Down? An Update

We posted this graphic the other day, showing how carjackings are up (click for larger versions):

We used it as a sort of "microcosm" of crime being up in the face of repeated denials from the powers-that-be.

Here's a small update to the graphic - note the bottom of the graphic:

30 arrests in 181 carjacking in 2015 - 16.66%

27 arrests in 506 carjackings in 2017 - 5.33%

We'd say that something drastic happened between those two years that emboldened the criminal element to the point that they can increase carjackings by over 180% while arrests percentages dropped by double digits.

What could it possibly be?

The ny times had a fascinating article on the abject failure of affirmative action and college admission/ outcomes.long article short- read it, the big surprise it was big in facts and numbers and low in liberal bs- the basic factor to academic success was if you were born inside wedlock to a stable family . Pacific coasters remain the most over represented group in college due to a 16 % out of marriage rate, whites are 29%, hispanics 50%, and blacks upwards of 70%.
Any cop can attest to these facts. In my 25 yrs I've seen the collapse of the family, kids are wild today. They respect nothing and no one.hence crime rates rise, and basic civility crashes. This is how societies die, does anyone think our society is on the rise? We are doomed, it is just a matter of time before we tear apart, Chicago will become the norm, not the exception.

Wait.....it's because we can't chase stolen vehicles anymore regardless of how they were taken. Once reported stolen, these cars are great for transportation of contraband, robberies and drive by shootings for the above reason.

SCC, perhaps Chicago police officers have figured out that they can protect their lives, their family and all they have worked hard for by not placing themselves in a position where their every action is examined under a microscope.

So, has the "D" figured out that the robberies in Hammond/South side, the shooting of the 73 year old, the robberies in Wrigleyville and North Center, all using a Black Ford Escape, are one big robbery pattern? How about some roll-call emphasis on stopping Black Ford Escapes...I will approve the pursuit, authorize paralleling and ramming, oh and sign your IOD's.

As the police stay fetal to protect themselves and their families safety and future, and politicians cater to the wrong doers it's going to take some private citizen with a valid FOID/CCP that does everything to the letter of the law to send some of these carjackers to their maker. As soon as a dozen or so "didn do nuffins" are laying dead in the street after legally being shot, while they were committing and ILLEGAL act, carjacking stats will plummet. Gun manufacturers should replace, at no charge, the weapon after CPD is forced to place it in evidence. The manufacturer could then run ads saying that XYZ gun is credited with putting the brakes on carjackings and bringing them to a screeching halt (pun intended) in the city of Chicago.

I heard on the radio someone discussing merits of legalized medical marijuana and legal "recreational" marijuana.
Legalizing both was a Democrat pacifier.

What the Democrats have been doing is slowly legalizing crime.
Car Jackin' is a "recreational" crime committed by a medically challenged feral youth.
They get to smoke weed and drive stolt cars unencumbered by The Laws of the Land.
Laws that are still on the books but are manipulated and go unpunished due to identity politics.

Sick'n Tard Low Engery Special Ed calls it "the riight arrest for the right crime".

The cut and dry robbery is no longer guaranteed even with witnesses.
Felony UUW is a just as hard as a murder.
You can't even get a conviction for carjacker with No D/L-No Ins-Fleeing in traffic court.
All because of the common denominator arrestee.

When will that 7 watt light bulb click on...
chases for arrests only help the Merit boss excel and it can easily put you in the trick bag with one little unfortunate reaction.
Stay Fetal or learn how to.

(OT) just a little barometer of checking an area you live in. We have lived in Garfield Ridge over 35 years a great neighborhood, I know people call it "Garcia ridge" many Hispanics are moving here so some say "the neighborhood is changing!" OK so "changing"you would think hmm could it be for the worst? But then you check with people in the know for instance you talk to your mailman who says "many Hispanics moving in but
many are city workers and many are police officers" so you say great news! Next you go to say your credit union that is close and talk to mortgage people there you find out many new coppers want to move to Garfield Ridge and are looking at properties and buying! OK then you go talk to real estate people and are told this area is "hot" homes are being sold at great prices! Next you see rehabbers buying anything reasonable and doing total gutting reselling in the $300,000+ brackets! Then you think lets check schools in the area, knowing the public schools are full, and then you check St.Daniels they are reporting "record enrollment!" Then St.Jane same answer!

Ahh not enough research, so next you look around at archer ave business area and see Aldi spending millions on a new "concept store" corner of archer and Harlem, and then you see owner of Villa Rosa pizza, bought the former Danny's pizza (check facebook Danny's Chicago for inside pictures) on Archer/Menard and spent millions on rehab beautiful inside. Still not satisfied you talk to general manager of home run inn pizza on archer/Meade she says "This is the busiest store in the chain"

Still not satisfied you talk to coppers on the beat 811 who live here and say crime is down! Then you go back and talk to real estate people and are told many city workers are moving here even from "the other side of the track" in clearing because we have 8 schools in about a 1 mile radius plus 4 parks, plus access to archer buses, pace, train in summit directly to downtown, and the orange line bus!

So saying that to say the "homeland" is getting better God bless all the police and people living here!!

I will say, all this robberies in multiple districts and areas with the same MO were delayed in being discovered because you put the robbery detectives in the district. So the detectives in 8 have no idea what's going on in 9 because the don't communicate with each other. When they all worked at the area they communicated with each other and multi district crime was nipped in the bud a lot faster. Now I will say I like the detectives in the district because the response time is faster.

If you want to keep your job, keep your freedom,
keep your family and home intact, stay un-indicted,
un-imprisoned, un-ruined and un-slandered?

Stay out of "The Community's" business
and leave these members of "The Community" free
and unencumbered to do what they do as they and
those who aid and abet them have demanded you to.

Unless their doing what they do infringes on
your right to life, liberty and you and your
family's pursuit of happiness.

It is THEN, you opt for judgement by the 12...

Instead of the carrying by six that Rahm,
Well Fed Ed and the rest of the exempts,
the media, the white-guilt SJWs and
"The Community" fervently wishes to see
you subjected to...

They get to wipe false tears for bright
TV lights while praising you to your
grieving family and friends for your
"brave sacrifice" and "admirable restraint."

Judgement by the 12 means that you bucked
the prevailing narrative by fighting back
and protecting yourselves from those who have
been slid into your former slot in the societal
and cultural hierarchy.

They say:
"Damn you Cops for forgetting your assigned place
in the new societal and cultural hierarchy"

The Police are the problem here in Chicago.

Right?
Well... If such is truly the case?

Every man for himself and that which he reckons will
allow him to stand before his GOD in judgement...

Therefore, the upright and put-upon man has just cause
to abandon the vehicle of civility along with everybody
else.

To mindlessly insist he stays put and be obliged
to have one hand tied firmly behind his back is
the height of hypocrisy and foolishness and flies
in the face of God Given common sense and survival.

(See Ecclesiastes 3:1 thru 10
Of particular resonance for what's
happening to Chicago Policemen is Verse 3)

I can agree about Garfield ridge but let me add we also have an active neighborhood watch, where many coppers retired and some off-duty help! They also try to keep the area great by having numerous parades, and Christmas tree lighting ceremonies,Santa Claus riding the complete neighborhood in a fire truck, Wentworth park installed an ice skating rink and the old Athletico was closing their gym so Home Run Inn which owns that property invested over $550,000 (changed the name to Vaunt fitness) in new equipment as they already owned the building, look at archer/Narragansett new Italian restaurant where tinas was with bbq getting ready to open, spending a lot of cash redoing the building.

Look around many people are out jogging in the morning, the neighborhood is friendly, the police who are respected here respond quickly to any call and handle the situation! Are their problems sure but everywhere has its share, drive around look at all the police vehicles parked from city, county, state police who choose to live here! Plus the taxes are quite a bit lower than the suburbs, and many city employees send their children to the public schools which keeps they at capacity with mostly neighborhood kids! Many new businesses are looking at the area, when they work out the diagonal parking plans off of archer this will help as they need parking!

Bottom line people do not invest in an area that they believe is sinking, look also at Weber, pticeks, and Racine bakery people come from near and far to get their baked goods!
