Even the Kids Are Leaving

  • The state of Illinois is among the states leading the nation in the number of college freshmen pursuing higher education in other states, according to a state agency.

The State Journal-Register in Springfield reports the Illinois Board of Higher Education says between 2000 and 2014, the number of freshmen who left the state to attend college rose by about 64 percent.

The mark was hit before the state's two-year budget impasse, which negatively impacted the finances of the state's colleges and universities.

Only New Jersey, which also has had state budget woes, exceeded Illinois in loss of students to out-of-state schools.

And if these kids actually pay attention, they might actually learn that there is life outside of Illinois. And that could truly spell doom for the State.

Relax, it's only 64%....really quite manageable, I think.

Because the higher learning systems are being overwhelmed by non-paying students and all of the baggage they bring. And I'm not talking about backpacks.

News of the Sugar Tax and Preckwinkle in
particular has made National Radio News.
Toni states if tax is not sustained, there could
be an 11% budget cut and layoffs.
O.K. Toni, how about you leave first.

Relax, I am sure since 2014 that "There has been a Decrease in the Increase."

Might be because that jagoff, Rauner, can’t promise them schools will be funded properly in a state that might not be able to pass another budget. As my my clients might say, “The muthafucka gots to go!”

No more beavers by babbling brooks in the woods,
no more camp outs and marshmallow roasts.
Young folk turned into exiles from this pristine
land. Overrun by crime and politicians hell bent
on taxation.
Son, take this money and don't be a Belushi at
school. Please learn something so you can help
yourself and the family.

But yet this corruptinc. state, city, county will bend over backwards to put the illegals into the schools on full scholarships, while the working citizens are forced to pay for this nonsense! the elected boldly and succinctly violate federal immigration laws and dare President trump to arrest them, lets hope the "make America great again" President trump sends in a massive amount of federal teams to forensically audit, prosecute, and detain the head elected democratic criminals in the republic of "chaos, mayhem, carnage!"

This really is sad news. And no, I'm not being facetious.

Everyone knows that college degrees in 'STEM' disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) are going to be in huge demand in the near future. Not to mention that Mechanical and Electrical Engineer graduates never had to look to flipping burgers at McDonalds as a fall-back career. And the truth is that Illinois has The Best Engineering School in the country -- it's The College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana.

I worked with many Mech Engineers from the U of I and they were all top notch. Grads from there also make more money starting out and career wise than from other schools. A friend of mine's son is a U of I grad and after 2-3 yrs he was making $100,000 from a company in Roselle. He transferred to the Engineering School at the U of I from.... Harvard! (not kidding) He had a full-ride Athletic Scholarship at Harvard but wanted that BSME from the U of I.

The Engineering School at the U of I is also A-One in the Computer Sciences. Some may know this but the first 'real' Web Browser, Mosaic, was invented there. I'm praying that our Granddaughter applies and gets accepted there ;-) (she's a Jr now & in the Nat'l Honor Society.

And for Law Enforcement, it's my understanding that the Criminal Justice program at Western Illinois University is one of the best in the nation. A friend of mine and the wife's son got his degree in Criminal Justice there and is now ... a Chicago Police Officer (and has been for 'a few' years now).

Anyway, as much as Illinois sucks, it still has some mighty fine Universities and Colleges. (no comment on the assholes at Northwestern Univ)

Foreign freeloading students and unhinged progressives, liberals along with foreign incomprehensible educators,
that's what Illinois has to offer. Same applies to the medical profession.
Too bad for those who are stuck and do not have options.
Rahm won't be sending his kids to an Illinois higher education school.

The only ones benefitting from Illinois are those who get the contracts from the cesspool of the elected.
Think Rahm is going to adopt an Illinoisans First policy, or how about the next spendthrift Democrat for governor?
Just more tax raises to build a bigger Sanctuary.
The only ones benefitting from Illinois are those who get the contracts from the cesspool of the elected.
The only thing not leaving Chicago - Illinois are the cockroaches.

Looking like nfl idiots will be putting themselves in the unemployment line where they belong:

Gerald McCoy: 'It's going to be an uproar' if players forced to stand

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Gerald McCoy, speaking on Adam Schefter's Know Them From Adam podcast, said he thinks there might "be an uproar" if NFL players are forced to stand for the national anthem.

"I don't think guys are gonna like it," McCoy said, when asked about the possible reaction from players. "I think it's gonna be an uproar if that is to happen because you're basically taking away a constitutional right to freedom of speech. If guys wanna have a, I guess you would call it a peaceful protest, I don't think it's right to take that away."

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20989433/gerald-mccoy-tampa-bay-buccaneers-uproar-players-forced-stand

The ticket sales are down, ESPN was even insane enough to say "boycott sponsors" nfl did this now they can live with trying to find a job, which will be a problem for the league which is obviously "mentally challenged!"

The biggest problem with Illinois is the cost of tuition at state schools in the first place. Both of my sons went to private colleges for about the same price, possibly a little more, and received good educations, and are gainfully employed. Many of our friends kids went out of state because the tuition was almost even with other states nonresident prices. You get nothing for being a resident. State schools also pander to foreigners who pay. Hate this state. Already bought a home up north and planning to get out of here soon.

The U of I would rather have foreign students than locals. Especially from inner city Chicago.

They pay more.
They don't need remedial programs
No crime.

True for my kids. One in Missouri, with the easiest path to in-state tuition and one in Kentucky (with competitive scholarship offering made it cheaper than any IL state school).

How hard is it to be a resident of Illinois to get into u of I? Is it true that 40 per cent are from other countries?

Best in the Nation? Worked with several WIU Grads on CPD and they couldn’t write a GOCR or Arrest Report to save themselves.

University of Illinois prefers out of state and out of country students. They are cash cows. And for the most part, they are no-crime problem people.
