Dashcam Video

We suppose this type of video is going to be the norm nowadays. One upside (of very few) is showing an unaware public just how quickly (and messily) situations unfold:
  • Police oversight officials released case files Thursday from their investigation of an officer who fatally shot a 19-year-old man after being pinned against his police SUV earlier this year in Hanson Park on the Northwest Side.

The cache of documents provided by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability includes dashcam footage of Juan Flores backing an SUV into the officer, who then opens fire.
The video is disturbing to say the least. The Officer ended up with a broken leg, the assailant ended up dead and COPA couldn't think of anything to charge the Officer with yet, though they have years to go over the tape as opposed to the Officer who had barely half-a-second.

Remember...

A vehicle cannot be considered a weapon
according to the ACLU-ified, new and
improved CPD.

Rahm gave up common-sense, reasonable man
self defense for Policemen to pander to
those members of certain demographic subsets
that incline themselves to the intentional and
violent misuse of motor vehicles to elude
Police custody.

Heh...

Give CPD administration, local media, COPA and
Kim "Me and My Peoples/Folkses Revenge
Against The Police" Foxx a little more time.

They'll manufacture something to hang on that
young officer.

Or they'll visit him with something 20 or 30
years from now so they can crow about not
letting him "get away" with something.

"...No matter how long it takes."

We hope all the paper is tight regardless
of what the camera shows.

Best wishes and a full recovery
to the injured Officer.

Conversely, releasing these videos to the public who are untrained nor educated in police proceedures could cause a lot of Monday morning quarter backing because the police did not measure up to their favorite TV cop show. Remember people aways comment on how the police have done their job. People don't video or comment on construction workers on how they are building a building or any other profession.

The "Perception" is ultimately all that matters. Before the video was released locally, someone sent it to me from The Daily Mail, a newspaper in England! Think about how the world has changed, something that happened in Chicago, is published in England, before it is shown to the public, where it occurred. And in the Daily Mail presentation they described the deceased 19 yr old as "Drunk". Do you think the local Media would ever be so bold as to state what they know to be the truth? Chicago was once famous for hard hitting journalism; today the Media are Sycophants and Stooges for the Political Class; and the Truth must be pursued elsewhere. I guess telling the whole story, if it does not fit the Agenda of Oppressive White Cops, is forbidden. Be Very Careful; Rahm is looking for a scapegoat, preferably White, but Tan will suffice. For any incident this COPA farce finds a Police Officer at fault, they need to be put in the same situation, at real life speed, and show how the Police should have handled the incident.

Put their lives on the line and there will be very few, minor accusations against the Police.
Stay safe Officers.

I don’t know, if digital imaging video is never being used in the prosecution since releasing it compromises the legal case but it sure sways the public opinion, used as political campaign ammunition and of course Anti-Police Movements.

At what point is video evidence and since when do we allow others to compromise it?
Upon receipt, packaged, tagged, inventoried. Right?
For example, let’s see the gun or knife joe used in commission of the alleged crime, pass it over here.

Pre-release of video is not necessary.
Not even for threats of impeding civil disobedience.
But look at who’s running the show.
Any and all dash cam or body cam video should not be released to anyone beyond the LE agency that retains it.
No States Atty, no DOJ, no elected public stooge.

Justified today, murder to follow later when we find our witness.
Seven years of going frame-by-frame, the COPA will spin any bit of that video to present some twisted case to an equally divisive Cook Co States Attorney to prosecute.
Just as they want to retain CR files permanently and as as we all know the COPA is reopening decades old cases.

Political pawns and the Democrat way.
Do y’all selfs a favor...don’t get involved or as little as possible in ghetto affairs.

Work Smart - It’s Them against Us.

Thank god the alderman are founding a task force to address terrorist uses of vehicles for mass casualty attacks. Maybe we'll finally have a solution to defeating the threat of a weapon weight thousands of pounds? Maybe spring boots that will allow first responders to jump and bounce onto the vehicle. From there, officers can use a mini plasma torch to cut through the roof and place the offender(s) in custody. This is an easy, low-cost fix.

On another note Ray Mr "skycap" hmm grew up in Brighton park your area, your ward was a nice place with the "legal immigrants" keeping it clean and safe! Now it looks like total shit, garbage everywhere the illegal invaders shooting up the place with rifles yet again!

2 more dead with rifles, but thank god they were scum gang bangers so loose to the community, and this shooting style saves the taxpayers paying millions in hospital bills and or putting them in jail where they gouge themselves on Tommy "pizza boys" pizza!

Ray now you were excellent at checking people in at southwest airlines, now you stand up and say "we don't want the feds coming here!" With all the killings how about stationing a huge van with the bodysnatchers and buy some land dig a hole, rinse and repeat throw they in, this is your way let the self cleaning oven clean itself! Bravo ray great plan, as long as innocent life is not full of holes,or killed!

Raymond did you ever think to take and stand and support police, and "law and order" invite the feds in, expose all the crook county/city of chiraq corruption that is letting all these bodies pile up? No because your hung your "testicular fortitude" up at the altar of rahm who is everything wrong with this city, and you handed what little you had left to toni the sugar queen failure! A Rockford, Illinois police officer was killed in the line of duty last week after a traffic stop turned deadly. Officer Jamie Cox was dragged for nearly 2 blocks by the driver of a small pick up truck and died of massive blunt force trauma. The driver died as a result of gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma from a resulting crash. Vehicles are not weapons according to the CPD leadership. Tell that to Officer Coxs' widow.

Just like the In Car camera, the body cameras have a 60 second loop. When you turn on the camera, it keeps the last 60 seconds of video stored at all times, and as you go over 60 seconds, that older video drops off. So if you have had your camera on for five minutes and then activate it, only the last minute of the 5 gets added to your taping. The first 4 minutes gets recorded over

11/12/2017 08:17:00 PM

Any type of camera, body worn or car mounted, is always recording. It's the triggering event that captures to memory the footage. In body worn it's the person pressing the activation button, which includes a predetermined amount of time. Vehicles are similar. Your employer must disclose exactly how they work.

+++++++++++++++++++

Yes, they are recording ALL the time. Sound(I think) is only recorded when the camera is activated. A marker is placed on the hard drive for items that need to be archived and uploaded, otherwise it is just overwritten in a loop. (First in, first out)

However, when/if Data Systems comes out and removes the hard drive from the car, they can see everything on the drive.(The last 24+ hours, I think) A long process to watch, but it is all there. Don't forget, this is all for officer safety, ;)

Speaking of Dash Cameras.
Everyone of us should have a dash camera in our personal cars, to protect us in the event of an incident off duty. Shop around and get one that suits your budget, but don't buy one with a Chinese name to it. Remember, you get what you pay for. With all the car jackings this morning, what if it happened to you on the way to work or home. At least with the dash camera depending on where it is mounted, it will capture some or all of the incident. Most of the units record audio as well. Protect yourself form copa .
