Investigation Ends
- A Cook County special grand jury has been disbanded without charging any additional Chicago police officers, including department higher-ups, for their handling of Laquan McDonald’s fatal shooting by an officer.
At a hearing Tuesday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building, special prosecutor Patricia Brown Holmes said the grand jury that convened to look into the controversial shooting has completed its investigation.
That means no other officers — including higher-ups who signed off on allegedly false reports of the shooting — will be indicted.
The only indictment brought by the special grand jury charged just lower-level cops — a detective and two patrol officers — stopping short of criminally charging department higher-ups in the alleged cover-up, even though several had been recommended for firing by the city inspector general’s office for their actions.
All the bosses were permitted to retire with full benefits and pensions including the exempt who ordered the District supervisors and detectives to push through an incomplete (and uninvestigated) TRR so he could finish his portion of the report and go home. The Round Table the next day included Special Ed, who hasn't answered a straight question since then about the entire incident - probably because to break ranks might jeopardize a certain cheating investigation.

Remember that the largest police corruption case in 50 years never netted anyone above the entry level position of Patrolman. Yet, the Marquette Ten were referred to in court as High Ranking Police Officers by the U.S. Attorney.
How convenient. Hitting a little too close to home for the brass I guess.
It's unfortunate they're destroying the careers of the officers already on the hot seat in this politically-motivated, chance for Emanuel to save face with the black community witch hunt, but good that no one else who wears a blue shirt is being dragged down this rabbit hole.

How does a crook county judge get made? They get a sponsor appear before many elected democratic chairmen and promise to do what they are told, that is why you look at some cases that are slam dunks and next you know the criminal is free! The bosses have never gotten in trouble for any of the stuff they do. If people realized how corrupt the bosses were and are it would truly amaze the citizen. When I came on the job in 1986 there was commander who refused to let gang crime into his district. He told us to go lock up people for drinking on the public way and selling snow cones. After he retired the Feds got ahold of him. This commander was going to sing like a bird but pass on before the Feds could do anything. So of course the Feds investigation went nowhere.

Eric Carter is a MUTT and a half. Merit every rank and was nothing but a paper jumper as a patrolman. He is the MOST UNQUALIFIED EXEMPT. He is totally screwing up our SWAT Team.
Of course the bosses skate free. It's called privilege of rank. Hope this all comes out at trial. They will try hard to suppress the whole truth, and likely will get favorable ruling from Rahm beholding judges. Keep pushing out the facts so maybe an industriousness media type from out of city will pick it up and run with it.
This whole thing boils down to when did Rahm see tape and why hold it so long. No doubt in my mind officer is guilty of something ( not sure what), but so are all those who signed off on it. Trial will be a media circus and pity the city if he is acquitted. Get the family out of town at verdict time. Will be worst riots in city history hopefully confined to the communities neighborhoods. Time will tell.

I wonder if Dean Andrews will misplace any of the condo board's books...I personally wouldn't let him be responsible for storing farts in glass jars. But his criminal silence on the Koschman case must have bought him some loyalty points somewhere...
This trial has the possibility of shining the light of day on all the crooked brass and politicians. The city will burn no matter how the verdict come down. Mad riot or happy riot either way a riot is a riot. Hope the feds and governor are prepared to call out guard, it will be needed.

HE'S not taken the fall for anybody, so far EVERYONE else has taken the fall for him.
The coppers who dropped sups=fired/indicted, Dick=fired/indicted, sgt who approved the TRR who WAS NOT THERE=fired, lost house.
This is all HIS doing and other people are getting fired and indicted because of him. And before you start about what a great guy he is and a hard charger, why don't you ask the people caught up his autistic bullshit? The response won't be positive.

I met him in 008 cause I live in GarciaRidge-- after talking to him for awhile I knew that he was shit. I was speaking in terms of having Rham having to explain why he assholed his way out of this mess. JVD should not been working the streets but part time delivering Dunkin' Donuts to stores...It's amazing how the bottom bucket of shit fell out

Sure, that is fool proof logic. Just because the bosses signed off on the shooting as legally justified, does not make it legally justified. The court has yet to rule. Keep dreaming.
Do u guys want people to get indicted???? Listen, NOBODY should have been indicted in the first place. God willing when facts come out everyone gets off. But to hope that bosses or anyone else gets pinched just lends credence to these idiot lawyers, protesters and media that there was some grand cover up. This shows there wasn't and I think trial will back that up with the scapegoats who got indicted already.
