So can anyone explain what actual qualifications Eva-Dina Delgado has for judging police work? How many agencies she's worked for, how many arrests and court proceedings she might have participated in? What papers she's published or commissions she's served on?
How about evidence interpretation? Ballistics? Crime scene processing? Simple physics?

To answer your question SCC, she has had clout jobs with the City and the CTA, that is what makes her qualified to judge the police! But in actuality she probably could not tell you the front of an el train from the rear of the train. Probably never rode a bus or train as all these elites are given cars. Here's something else which is related. The Illinois Dept. of Professional Regulation investigates 45 professions some being physicians, nurses, accountants, locksmiths, professional engineers, funeral directors, social workers and many more. They have 45 different boards and committees who establish standards and rules and recommend disciplinary action for those who violate the law. And guess who sits on those boards? Why it's members of the profession of the person they are investigating, like accountants investigating accountants, engineers investigating engineers. Furthermore the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission which investigates attorneys for wrong doing has attorneys investigating themselves. So everybody else gets to investigate themselves. Do you think there are any police officers allowed to sit on these boards to investigate these groups. What is amazing is that everybody and their brother investigates police officers that have no qualifications, background or knowledge of what a police officer is required to do, especially that decision that has to be made in seconds but will be investigated and analyzed for months and years by the Monday morning quarterbacks. So now you know why the entire system is corrupt.

It is not in the interest of fairness or Justice to allow these
unqualified individuals to sit in judgement of individuals
who have made a career of protecting and serving the
public at large.
We are pitting Peter against Paul if we allow this injustice
to stand. The mayor is nothing more than a puppeteer
playing one side against another in a veiled attempt to
increase attrition, decrease payroll and legacy costs
inherently involved in the running of a police department
by using a civilian to cater to a voting block. It is the
ultimate insult to a professional who gave the best years
of his or her life in service to the public to be subjected
to the whims of an individual acting as both Judge and jury.
It's not only an insult, it is ILLEGAL. The police must band
together to fight this travesty of workplace injustice.

Why are any of us complaining? We all knew what was going to happen. Know the FOP must get ready for the court fight to save his job. Layers, media ect. If a full blown out fight in the courtroom does not occur, then we as a group need to find a group that will defend us.

What happened to the lady involved was tragic, but the PO followed the dept guidelines on the Use of force, and he complied with Illinois Law on Use of Force. Does Delgado even understand the Departments rules and regulations? No not unless they are described to her prior to the presentation of the case.
Now look at who they are putting in charge of COPA. Another political appointee whe was in charge of the Illinois Secretary of State police. And this new Director is in charge of doing misconduct investigations on street police officers?
As the lead of Secretary of State police, how many times has she exited a vehicle to enter a home with a active domestic fighter? Let alone confront an armed robbery subject? But I bet she understands the weight classifications and time limits of a truck being driven in Illinois.

It's really funny that the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation can administer licensing tests for those 45 professions successfully and I have never heard of a complaint of cheating, favoritism, clout, nepotism, sexism, racism etc. they check your credentials and then you can sit for the exam. Our previous mayor, the little midget, had to take the bar exam 3 times to pass. One former Alderman took the COA exam 3 times and never passed. There was a Capt on the police department who went to Michigan State Law School and took the bar three times and never passed and his father was a big politician with the old school Daley democrats.
The city needs to have IDPR administer all of the tests for the police dept. like they do for the 45 other professions but then how will the pols pay their friends and supporters back for the democratic vote?

The only reason Kevin ask Prieb to be on his ticket was Prieb's popularity. After Kevin won, he started to box out Prieb. At every turn, Kevin puts road blocks in front of Prieb. The other problem Prieb has is the fact that there are several left overs from Deano administration who has Kevin's ear. These left overs will do anything to get Deano back. Watch Deano try to make a comeback the next election. There is much infighting in the FOP and it's because the Deano left overs are giving Kevin some very bad advice. From what I understand there has been some very heated arguments between Kevin, Prieb, and one particular deano leftover. One can sense the egg shells people are walking on when you go into the FOP Office. Prieb wants the FOP to be more aggressive but has been shut down in ALMOST EVERY OPPORTUNITY. Prieb has done some things on his own and Kevin has gotten in his face over this. They have had several VERY HEATED ARGUMENTS. Many of the arguments have been over Prieb's writings on the blog.
For anyone who doubts Prieb aggressiveness, every PO should listen to his speech at this weeks Police Board meeting. He has the balls to blast the Mayor and the Board decision on the Firing of PO Robert Riaimo. (Front Page of the Tribune Friday 20 April 18) What Prieb said every PO should be made aware of. That should have been Kevin but Kevin has no polish what so ever.
It doesn't matter what her qualifications are, or aren't, she'll do the bidding of her masters. That's the only qualification needed for a tyrant. No backbone needed.

How does that make you qualified to understand what a police officer has to deal with? I understand Rahm wants votes but how cold hearted do you have to be to want votes over a person’s life and livelihood? I guess I could never be a politician because I care about others too much. Also-one of the cases she wanted a suspension and not a termination was S H from 8th district. That woman had several serious situations involving her and her son-people in 8 know what I’m talking about. This board member only recommended suspension-if anyone should have been fired it was her.

I keep making posts here saying "AS YOUR NEXT FOP PRESIDENT". What I would be doing is calling/rallying our troops and take to City Hall for a march. This needs to be addressed already, the only way to address this nonsense is to have our voices heard. we must ban together and make sure: Rahm doesn't win reelection, make sure our person gets in (with the reassurance to replace COPA), consider our choice for Superintendent. By banning together we can influance the election and get what we want.
The FOP has to go up 100% against Rahm or be voted out. So fat they look like they are in Rahm’s pocket.

Hey SCC this is coming from someone who has a lot of recent experience with the police board and its proceedings. The system is very flawed and skewed to jam up the officer. FOP could and should put up a fight about this. The sad thing is that the FOP is clueless and they don't want to get involved. The city attorneys are very corrupt and don't play by the rules. You would think that someone from FOP would watch the hearings to gain insight into what the city is trying to do to the officers. It's not happening. Everybody should go to the police board website and become familiar with the cases and outcomes. Who the board members are and how they voted. How can someone with no legal background write a decision or dissent? They're doing whatever they want because nobody is calling them on it.
Put them all in a room and have some crazy person come in swinging a bat and see what they would do.

Not only are we being killed across the country due to this new agenda against the police but we are now losing our jobs our families our livelihood our sanity for simply doing our job. Someone from Peoples Gas? How about someone who works with their hands from Peoples Gas. Where is FOP on similar vote or where is no confidence petition for No confidence vote for entire Chicago legal system courts, judges,ASAs, Kim, Prekwenkel. If you do anything anymore you are a fool. answer your calls and do the reports necessary. dont do any traffic stops or street stops. 1st and 16th----thats all that matters now. why would you risk yourself and your family for people who dont give a sh*t about you. and its only going to get worse before it gets better, if ever and certainly not in my career will it change
