Bright Ghetto Idea

  • Charges are pending against a woman who is said to have attacked Chicago Fire Department paramedics in the back of an ambulance that was shot during the episode in Englewood early Sunday, police said.

A bullet lodged in the passenger side door of the ambulance as medics were treating a patient whose family became irate when they weren’t allowed in the ambulance. The woman herself later was arrested on suspicion of attacking the paramedics inside, according to police.
CFD spokesman gives the company line that the gunfire may have been directed at someone else, but what else are you going to say to keep paramedics from outright refusing to go into Englewood? Rahm can't have that.

Wasn't it just last year that CFD attempted to ban bulletproof vests for their personnel? Perhaps they ought to be issuing them instead....and armoring up some ambulances.

Paramedics wearing body armor is an
"Aggression" towards the perpetually aggrieved community...

So you know that The Police wearing body armor
and being armed is a straight-up "declaration
of war" against the perpetually aggrieved community.

We wonder who is going to examine the perpetually aggrieved
community's "declaration of war" against the rest of everybody
else that makes up the majority of upright law abiding society?

Chicago is equivalent to a war-torn military combat zone! They should paint all Ambulances with the Ref Cross medical symbol. It is hard to believe this is a major US city. The Mayor and Special Ed really have everything under control.

These folks are very family and clan oriented, so it is understandable if they sometimes get a little testy. Did the ambulance have a police escort?

Replace those ambulances with Brinks armored money trucks or those US Military surplus armored vehicles that the Federal Government was giving to local police departments. Remember when that dim bulb Obama said local police departments should not have those vehicles and started calling them back. He was such a visionary!

Were Aggravated Battery charges successfully brought against THIS bitch?

Or did she hit the paramedic with something more than a shoe?

I predict the usual double standard.

Paramedics are expendable. Rahm voters have a high turnover rate, mostly due to death. However, when did death ever stop a Democrat from voting?

Now, kees me you fool!!!!

How about instituting a policy that if the patient being treated OR THE FAMILY / FRIENDS get out of line and attack the paramedics, the patient will be evicted from the ambulance, left on the side of the road and the ambulance and fire/rescue workers will leave. Period.

Battle the Badges, it’s the communities version of the annual Battle of the Badges charity event.
Police (mostly) and Fire are Rahm’s punching bags, so why not make it the communities too.

Should by some chance there’s an approval, the felony will be kicked down to misdemeanor SOL.
Hope some yellow slips made the entire incident worth while.

The so called community trust that Lo Energy Special Ed is looking for seems to evade the reality.
Stay Fetal.

Haven’t you been to a shooting, seizure, car accident, or anything else on the south or west side? They yell at, impede, threaten, argue with and intimidate CFD personnel. These life forms are ultra violent in nature, have no concept of right and wrong, no feelings of guilt or remorse. They will take anything and everything they want and are given the opportunity to. They show now appreciation for what anyone does for them and they expect, they demand, the very best treatment under all conditions, even while threatening the hand providing them services. This class of person is a failure, always has been for thousands of years, always will be. They will destroy society and we will allow them to. We will enable them every step of the way

Public safety is a joke.

The police have gone fetal due a lack of support from the city administration, the media and the courts.

Who can blame them? A cop doesn't have to be real smart to realize that he has more to fear from from the criminal justice system than the criminal does.

If it were not for the efforts and skills of the trauma medical system in this city, one shudders to think what the homicide numbers would be.

Attacks on Fire Department Personal are occurring more and more. This is especially true regarding Paramedics. A rational person would assume no one would try to attack a person who comes to help you. However, we are dealing with people who are not rational. I feel sorry for paramedics. i hope the leadership of the fire department insists that any attack on fire personal charges will be sought.

There should be a daily protest at city hall. At least from now till the election if not longer. Asymmetrical warfare. Do whatever Rahm least expects. Because if behavior is anything predictable you can bet he's already figured the angles to twist it to his advantage in the election. Make the alder assholes lose their cool and catch it on camera.

The NRA already has a feature called the "Armed Citizen" dedicated to telling how armed citizens successfully protect themselves from criminals. Wouldn't it be great if the NRA would start something similar except it would be called "Only in Chicago" and tell stories of how incompetence in high places puts felons back on the street.

@ 01:08:00 AM: A red cross? That's laughable. If there is one place in the world where the Geneva Conventions should be ignored, it's Chicago.

Should’ve let her out of the ambulance and drove away. Paramedics remain at the scene too long trying to stabilize the idiots. How about pulling down the street. Let the idiots refuse on body camera.

I thought the CFD sent a truck with the paramedics on every call. I’ve seen the truck pull up either with or before the paramedics arrive
Actually had a woman pass out in church and a paramedics ambulance pulled up followed by a fire truck. That was in 016 at a church. I’m sure if they do that up here they do it in less desirable areas

Cut the bs about the efforts and skills of the trauma medical system. There’s wounds they treat and there are wounds you won’t survive
If your statement is true than why were the there one in three deaths this year(8 dead, 25 shot) this year and last year only 7 died out of 45 shot, or like 1 in 7 died. So I take it that the trauma efforts and skills were less this year last year I in 7, this year one in 3

At least eight people were killed and 25 others wounded in shootings across the city since midnight Friday, police told WLS. Last year, over the entire weekend of the unofficial start of summer, seven people were killed and 45 others were hurt.

Yea, that will work. I’m sure every boss on the CFD would love to write that order or every alderman would like to introduce and sponsor an ordinance stating just that

Sticky situation for medics is they can be held accountable by the state also not just the city. The city doesn't control the Licensing of medics the state does its like a double edge sword.

CFD guys and Girls rather then the load and go on the drunks load and go on the gun shots victims that way the people outside don't have time to react.

Of the standard scene size up if its to dangerous to go in then wait at the corner till CPD breaks out the Billy clubs
