Quality Control Oops
- Two people have died and at least 14 others have been hospitalized in a series of drug overdoses Tuesday on the West and Northwest sides.
A 50-year-old man was found dead of an apparent overdose at 6:28 a.m. in the 600 block of North Homan Avenue, according to Chicago police. [...].
About 9:40 a.m., multiple overdoses were reported in the area around Chicago and Homan avenues, police said. About the same time, multiple callers also reported a silver-colored SUV driving around the area selling drugs.
At least 14 people have been hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital, Norwegian American Hospital, Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center and West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said. A Chicago police officer used Narcan, an opiate overdose antidote, on two of the people who were taken to hospitals.
We have an e-mail that says 011 actually ran out of Narcan last week. Hopefully, they get some more just in case a cop comes into contact with this garbage.
We guess you can't expect the best quality control from west side dope dealers.

I hope you find the dealer. I hope your criminally corrupt racist and incompetent States Attorney charges him with murder charges for killing the addicts.
.
So, are these murders, or just death inv.
Murder numbers count, DI don't.
Just legalize it already.
Oh yeah, that would directly impact the black budget of the intelligence agencies.
Why are we in Afghanistan ?
Narcotics are a weapon to be deployed against your enimy... just ask the Chinese and Russians.
Who is deploying this weapon against the USA and why ?

Blame the Russians.
Narcan is gonna end up as a political football.
It will acquire currency status: distributed as
rewards, withheld as a punishment. Scarcity
will be equivalent to population control in some
districts.
Always buy your dope from a reputable dealer.

Life without living. Reminded of how the Chicoms dealt with the world's worst addiction problem back in 49. Gave the junkies one year to clean up or else. By 1950 there was no longer a problem with drugs; the Chinese won their war in 12 months. Yet we have been dealing with this issue since Anslinger. Makes one wonder where the money goes, cause it sure as the dickens isn't benefiting the average joe
Typical day in 11. No shocker.
Narcan ought to be reserved for the truly innocent who come in contact with this garbage, it ought not to be used for engaging in necromancy of degenerate addicts.
What does special ED do?
Does the Detective Division really investigate these as Homicides?
Or do they get down graded like they normally are and nothing is done?
If a person sell poison and somebody ingest it what is it? Does Kimm FOXX want more black and brown people in prison?

Maybe congressional democrats could push to abolish Customs and I.C.E. allowing greater amounts of heroin and fentanyl to cross an open border for use by the American people. This would assist cartels in their war against America. Maybe progressive minded advocates for "casual" users can use taxpayer funded monies for "safe" needles to inject this foreign made poisons into their bodies.
After all, this is small amounts of heroin for casual non-criminal recreational use. I guess living in the greatest nation with the most opportunities for success is so great a stresser that one has to resort to illicit drugs to take the edge off and deal with reality.
This is a self-correcting problem that make The City a better place for the good citizens. It lowers the welfare roles and Kim Foxx has fewer cases to decline prosecution. The recidivism by these wastes of human existence is zero.
I'm sure they were all upstanding citizens and the insurance they have thru their employer will cover the ambulatory and hospital costs.
yea! legalize drugs and tax it.
San Fransicko here we come!

The following is a draft by Rookie Trib J-School jockeys:
A sinister silver-colored SUV stealthily navigated Chicago
streets selling Class I substances to unsuspecting addicts,
resulting in overdoses. Two souls succumbed to the illicit
narcotics while two were saved by the opioid reversing
agent Narcan. SCC wasted no time spreading the news,
in the hope of saving future users. Citizens should summon
police if they see suspicious activity surrounding the silver
Sport Undertaker Vehicle.
Let them die. Who cares.
Culling the herd.
As bad as this sounds, they are saving family’s from years of lying and stealing.
Dopers want legal drugs then want the gov't to help them when they develop problems.
We are a society of sick, weakling degenerates.
Fuck em.
Kudos on Anslinger, as in long before there was
a Richard Nixon "war on drugs," there was Anslinger.
You get what you pay for
More of this please!....
We Are All Replaceable
The sad truth is that when an heroin addict finally passes away many of the family members are secretly relieved. Most people want them to get into rehabs. But the dirty secret is that not a lot of addicts or alcoholics, for that matter, get clean even after rehabs. Some have been in and out of these places for decades. That "recovery house" off the green line was classic. Guys overdosing all the time in the house.
I like this idea , cleaning out the population. And the dealer makes money and spends the “earned money” in the community which in turn funds tax spending on the under privileged. It’s a win win for all !

Your statement is definitely spot on! The medical pot places are already expanding and getting ready for recreational pot! Watch and see how this corrupt city county the most corrupt in the country further disintegrates into the bowels of the black hole. look at the synthetic marijuana that is popping up and killing people/folks unless the junkies use our hospitals with us the taxpayers paying for them to get care as they will do it again.
Fat jb touted about this and about using the hundreds of millions in potential tax revenue to pay the debt and the pensions, more lies and bullshit that money is already spoken for in the pockets of the scum elected to buy more votes to stay in power. Have a friend that is a highway patrol boss in California where it is legal and they tax the shit out of it,opening up more of the drug corners where the dealers get it directly from Mexico (sanctuary city state like us), and sell it for less.
Are CPD coppers as in fake media stories carrying narcan? Be careful around junkies don't want skin contact or the scum to spit in your face, remember the fastest transmission is your eyes, so if you rub your eyes and have contact with drug residue you will be in serious trouble, if your not geared up stay away from these incidents that is why we have fire. I know the "secret" with the mutual box alarms with fire that the suburbs will respond to major fires and that the fire ranks will dwindle as we don't have many fires like years ago,and rolling tye big rigs on ambulance call is ridiculous. Lori and her top staff will be adding much needed more ambulances and not many firefighters as they are not needed, and the firefighters that gave the EMT status just cut your own throats showing how much less your needed. No not anti-firefighter just the reality so you will not be shocked when this happens.
Ya sure, lets administer Narcon to these drug addicts, thief's and all around criminal pieces of shit so they can continue to do the same until they get the final hot shot.
I know its sounds cruel, but just let them die. They are already 1/2 way there anywhere and wont cause anymore grief or pain to other people.

This lady is trying to give them jobs,!good luck with that, useless community members, maybe handouts
Keep the Narcan for the cops in case they touch the junk. Otherwise, let the druggies croak. Less social services payouts.
I don’t understand why it’s society’s task to save the lives of people who self-destroy themselves purposely.

You can’t be serious. Yes it gets investigated the same as if someone went to Ace Hardware, bought a bottle of Drano, drank it and croaked.
Let's just make sure the medical examiner reports these deaths to the social security administration. We don't need more exempts cashing checks that aren't theirs.
Sounds like they need a better chemist.

Or do you use a Hospitalization / Accidental ?

Good news stories in city are hard to find. Then this.
Glad to see if am not the only one that thinks reviving these POS is a bad idea.
I retired from CPD in 2008, after 31 years of service. I lost my son in 2015 to a drug overdose (Heroin). I used to feel the same way as some of the previous posters. However, after losing my first born who prior to becoming addicted was a wonderful young man and father, I can say the pain is almost unbearable. To the posters who think that all who have succumbed to heroin addiction are mere garbage, may you never feel my pain.

Good dope, brings them right to the brink of death but doesn’t kill them. That’s how you know the dope is good stuff. Bad dope, kills you. Too much of the happy stuff in the dope. So it’s no longer good. Because you’re dead. Just go ask the hypes in 011, they’ll tell ya.
Would be much better quality if there was a city, county and state tax on it.

i certainly all these addicts have their health insurance paid up. I'd hate for tax dollars to be paying for this nonsense...
Under Illinois law police officers are required to have Naloxine (Narcan) immediately accessible to them and are to trained in its use. The law went into effect over a year ago.
It's a conspiracy perpetrated by Kim Foxx so that she has fewer defendant to prosecute or to approve charges on. Allegedly
Our suburban GOP township hosted a panel to educate the public on the Drug Crisis. Very little turnout except for those in the GOP. WE had the county sheriff, drug police, a bereaved friend of an addict speak. Realizing how much money is spent to try to rehabilitate drug users made me angry. The bereaved friend said how "good" his dead friend was. I should have spoken up, but I was too stunned to think straight at the time.
As I mulled on all the facts later, I realized, "Wait a minute, addicts are not good people!" They make life hell for everyone who cares about them; parents, spouses, children who fear the ringing of their phones.
I think that one rescue is sufficient. If someone does not learn to avoid drugs after almost suffocating, then it is time to let them die. As awful as it is for their families, an end to the horror has to help them get on with their lives.
We are drowning in the costs of rehab, the criminal justice system, the hospitalizations, etc. Don't even get me started on the cost of saving the lives of gangbangers who are shooting each other every week. Who decided that the taxpayers have to pay for the lawless and uninsured?
Make that 4 dead

Is Walter White available??
something most democrats call a nonviolent criminal
outdoor sales reps for the drug cartels
they don't even take into consideration Innocent Victims shot , killed during drug Wars . Nobody cares about the players , it's a fast life , part of the game.
Not so much for the people that they get hooked on drugs and end up dead in an alley or abandoned building used as a shooting gallery for hypes , the young women forced into prostitution to support drug habits .
Copy and Paste it might wake up a few democratic voters with heir head in sand or up commie bernie , uncle joe's ass
If Police Officers are responsible for administering Narcan shots and God Bless Them For doing so ,to individuals overdosing on heroin the Police Officers, sure as hell should be able to stop and frisk somebody if they determine probable cause ,which would more often then not save more lives confiscating illegal weapons and dope.Sounds like a great idea stop the illegal activity before its able to claim and destroy lives.
Worst thing in the world is the reaction of a junkie to Narcan. They'd rather die than lose their high. Citizens never get to see the pure evil of a revived doper. Maybe if they forced Joe Citizen to ride along with EMS sometime the idea that 'They Are Just Like Us' wouldn't be so prevalent. Those of us that don't reside in the ninth circle of Hell don't agree with that Kumbaya bs.
What’s the penalty again for Possession with Intent to Sell ?
Not just in Cook County but all liberal tolerant Democrat controlled cities across the nation.
So if there’s a Narcan/naloxone shortage, then the drug supply must be plenty.
If the drug supply is plenty, then the money for the har’ron is plenty.
Since there’s no jobs aplenty, entitlements must be a plenty.
If the entitlemints are not plenty enough, then the crime rate must be plenty.
If the har’ron is plenty, then the courts must empty and therein lay the problem.
I’m more concerned with controlling the grubs and weeds for another dire lawn season.
Can I get a gubmint subsidy for that?
Funny how they can control, outlaw and remove lawn products from society mostly from public outcry and poison factors, yet deadly narcotics continue flowing in from across the open borders and shipyards remain uncontrollable.
Funny thing is the junkies are going to be going after this shit hard. " I want me some of that shit. It's the bomb"....
Ah to bad. Maybe some will stop now before they become room temp display items.
Who cares let the addicts go. They are a plague on society
At least one copper got poked with a needle yesterday.

May God comfort you, sir.
My barber lost one of his sons to injectable drugs (before
fentanyl came along). Fentanyl is used in liquid forms
during open heart surgery as a pain reliever. It is also
used in patch form (3-day sustained release for terminal
cancer patients, or intractable pain). It is NOT a street drug;
it belongs in the hospital. China (a Communist state running
a subsidized capitalist market to gain money for military
gain) has been shipping fentanyl to the U.S. just for profit,
and no doubt as a direct war on our most vunerable citizens.
Our pharmaceutical companies can produce all the "clean"
fentanyl we need for medical purposes. China exports death
in exchange for peanuts. Strength and purity are of no concern.
Dope dealers lack the scientific equipment to access strength
and purity, a fact China is well aware of. Even if they did, they
lack the years of medical experience necessary for refinement.
As much as heroin is a Class I substance, fentanyl is 1,000
times worse. It absolutely has no place in street drug culture
because of it's narrow therapeutic index (medical dose is VERY
close to lethal dose).
Stop the ghetto lottery: Be like Texas
In a nutshell, the Texas Tort Claims Act § 101.125 limits the amount of recovery they may receive for the governmentally-inflicted harm:
The maximum the State of Texas can be held liable for is $250,000.00 per person, $500,000.00 per single occurrence for bodily injury, and $100,000.00 for property damage.
The maximum the City of Houston can be liable for is $250,000.00 per person, $500,000.00 per single occurrence for bodily injury, and $100,000.00 for property damage.
The maximum Harris County or a “unit” of local government, can be liable for is $100,000 for each person, $300,000 for each single occurrence for bodily injury or death, and $100,000 for each single occurrence for injury to or destruction of property.
The maximum liability of a Houston Police Department (APD), Harris County EMS, or other emergency service is limited to a maximum amount of $100,000 for each person, $300,000 for each single occurrence for bodily injury or death, and $100,000 for each single occurrence for injury to or destruction of property.

I’m so sorry for your loss and the absolute ignorance of some of these comments. I’m a cop as well and have read A LOT about the opiate crisis and addiction. There is so much more to these issues than what many people see on the surface. I thank god I haven’t had a loved one face addiction. Once again my heart feels for you.
But president Obummer says drug dealing is a victimless crime and should not be in jail. As does Percrinle and SA Fixx

Where on earth did you get that idea from?
Hey Lorie and your crack (can I say crack) Transition Team look what the Mayor Murder left you. More murder victims for you and Special Ed, only this murder spree was not done by gun but by dope - crack and heron. Lorie you're so deep in the hole you're gonna need a flashlight to figure a way out of Rahm's hot mess. You and the Socialist Democrats are always pushing for gun control for responsible citizens and leave the gangbangers to Kimmy and her social justice worriers. You see how well that's working.
Back to the dope thing. Rahm and Special Ed did little to quash the dope dealers and the Mexico to Chicago distribution system. As a matter of fact, dope has and continues to flourish in the city, under the nose of the Midget and his lackey the Superintendent. The new and sudden spike in murder by dope is a puzzle to Special ED. He can't use the tired old gun control theme as the usual solution to Community self inflicted genocide. You can't ban dope cause it's already illegal. Some one should tell Kimmy that because she's letting dope slingers back out to do their "business".
What kind of a public excuse are you going to sell to the media about dope murder - "we got Narcan". Many of the Districts are out of Narcan already. And now the Fat A$$ Tax Cheat in Springfield is pushing "Weed for Money" to bailout the corrupt and bankrupt State. Another Democratic Socialist "Weed for Money" successes story is coming up I-55.
Well Little Lady, jump into the Blood stained streets of Murder City and start reforming. Give me a few minuets before you start, to get my popcorn ready and so I don't miss a single second of watching you reform Chicago.

I retired last year. I am currently raising my grandchild as a result of his mother and father both losing their lives because of heroin (fentanyl). I can certainly understand your pain, but every single day that I spend with this baby, I'm glad that I am the one raising it instead of those two junkies. Look what happened in Crystal Lake. I'm sorry for your loss and I don't know now; or never will understand your relationship with your first born; but my daughter literally destroyed my life and my retirement by stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars and ruining my credit. I'm gonna spend the "golden years" in debt, living in Mt. Greenwood, raising her child. Life is what happens when you make plans!
Ask Toni Preckwinkle and Kim Foxx. Drug crimes are "non-violent" crimes. Nobody dies from "BAD" cuts of heroin. Nobody shoots someone else dealing on "their" spot. Junkies NEVER rob, burglarize, steal to support their habits. Toni and Kim said that drug offences are "non-violent" Believe them and keep voting Democratic!
I chose a great couple weeks to be out of the hood. Good luck to those still grinding.
The man that killed Commander Bauer is going with self-defense. I want to throw up. F*** this city! F*** every rat, animal, non-productive POS . F*** these defense lawyers. F*** the SA. F*** the Attorney General. F*** the media. Disgusting!!!

Most were not born addicts, injury, military, wrong crowd got them started. Medical profession is one of the main culprits.
Yea makes perfect sense!!! Give them narcan so they can keep doing the same shit.
Bottom line is they made a choice. Bad choices have bad out comes. Very selfish choices hurt the families and that is a shame but blaming anyone but the person who made choice is wrong. Excuses for lack of personal responsibility.
Horrible addiction have some compassion don’t spit up in the air because it just might hit you in the face. Addiction can happen in any family. You become a slave to the drug and will sell your very soul. I know they made the choice but just have a bit of compassion. Don’t let this job harden you .

Most experiencd EMS know that narcan sobers the junkie instantly: pushes the drug right off the receptors. ProTip: Best method is give the junkie half the narcan immediately; the other half at the destination ER, where there is help to control the junkie. You still legally administered full dose, CYA.

To 10:35am, the retired CPD who lost a son. I'm so sorry for your loss. Words can't express my sadness at your loss. Not a cop, but have had may in the family. I heard the same negatives around the dinner table for many years. i cringe when I hear negative comments like some of these. SCC serves as an important outlet for the beat copper. A place to pass along ideas and grievances about the job. A place to let off steam. I understand that. I also know of No one who woke up one day and thought, " Gee, I think I'll become addicted today. Yeah, why not. " Addiction happens, and sometimes it happens to us or our loved ones. Your pain is a testament to the love you have for your son. Again, I'm deeply saddened by your loss. May you find comfort now and in the days ahead. I'm praying for you.
NOT law. The law states that first responders are authorized to be trained to administer Narcan. It IS NOT mandatory for officers to carry and administer. CPD D18-04.
OFFICERS!!!! You will NOT absorb fentanyl or heroin immediately upon touching it. You will NOT immediately overdose from touching this shit either!! Anyone who tells you otherwise is fucking trying to scare you! Don't give yourself or your partner narcan unless there is respiratory depression (less than 10 breaths a minute) or comatose.
Love, a concerned Chicago paramedic out there with you all everyday
drug dealer is a non violent criminal , ask any democrat

I dunno. Are you good?
