The Department tacitly admitted that Brownie has fucked up the entire riot response and reached back in time and tapped Steve Georgas to fix the entire broken situation. To be fair, it's not all Brownies fault, but the fault of the political system putting incompetent morons in charge and chasing out anyone with actual experience. And of course, Groot calling the shots when she can't even be a moderately successful federal prosecutor.
Georgas has taken a bunch of heat over the years, some justified, some not (as all criticism is mostly opinions), but he successfully pulled of a decent NATO response along with the Cubs World Series run after Carter and others completely dropped the ball on that event.
It will be an interesting couple of days coming up with the current 12 hour schedule predicted to last through the weekend. It's obvious no one at HQ is currently capable or willing to take the reins and Groot cannot look like a total failure in her choice of supernintendo.

I’d love to know who’s on the 12 hour schedule because it sure isn’t 3rd watch. I haven’t worked less than 13 hours a day since this shit started and neither has anyone I’ve talked to. We must be the whipping boys. We are all so tired, our bodies ache and yet they keep pushing us. If a fight broke out in front of me I don’t know if I’d have the energy to intervene anymore. I’m that exhausted.

In Davenport, Iowa a female biracial 22 year old protester was hit by a gunfire from another "protester" and died. She and a friend came out to protest and tried to leave when it got violent and was killed. Not by cops, but by a rioter scumbag. No real wave of coverage on this kids death. Yep, can’t even do their job and in good faith expect any protection for doing their job. Officers are tried & convicted by one sided narratives & videos don’t even show the full depth of what they are going thru. This is what happens when you let cowards tell those going into battle how to do their job while they sit home. They deserve the police department they are creating. Tom Folliard was running Humboldt Park Fest and the Taste of Chicago as a sgt. Detailed a few weeks at a time out of gangs south to run these fests for many years. Georgas is helping because Randal Darlin BS'd the Superintendent, the Mayor and the Department on the establishment of a technology room that mirrors what CPIC should have been. He bosted so much about how his personal creation would do so well that when it was put to the test the first day of the riots it failed and he failed miserably. Steve was brought in to help him. I would not call it so much a return but any person with expertise in any area is tapped into. Nothing new here. Steve was the only one who the department utilized for events for years so it has nothing to do with real talent. Two guys that work here in Special Events has more talent and expertise than he does, but since they are not a part of the connected crew, Riccio leaves them in the shadows. What happened to the department working together. Same old hand picked cronies to do one job and make one or two look good, then on to the next golden boy.

Funny you mention this, it’s all true. The irony is that darlin was trying to make himself look good by telling brown stain that OT was not necessary. Darlin has raped the department with OT all his career including his years as captain.

Chase: Was sitting in the house in 016 watching TV when all sorts of policez started flying around. Some actually passing each other in opposite directions. Knew shit was real. Chase terminated, 016 asking PH1 for updates on the vehicles location. PH1 wouldn’t give location updates because chase was terminated. PH1 kept switching to ispern. Fast forward a few minutes, Didn’t hear a peep from PH1 but, WGN chopper is following, showed car jacking live, showed new vehicle fleeing. Showed all the way to the end of chase. The CPD helicopters are absolutely useless for anything other than observation of parades, festivals, lost kids, jaywalkers.
Due to policy I assume, coppers avoided blocking, ramming, kinda of using kit gloves.
Even after the crash at Irving and Ashland the CPD played too nice. It was broadcast early that this offender(s) was wanted for a Vehicular Homicide and multiple armed robberies.
