Turns out the hospitals have been unplugging patients the last few days of May. The count keeps going up:
- In May 2020 - 390 shot, 81 homicides
We have no idea when the last time was that May have over 80 homicides.
The yearly count has blown past 200 and stands at 244 before June even started.
At this rate, 600 is almost a slam dunk and Brownies tenure won't last past Christmas.

Doesn't really matter how many murders will occur in Chicago this year, Brown will not lose his job over it. Seriously, you can't hold one person accountable with all the scumbags which occupy this west and south sides He can work 24/7/365 and it isn't going to make one bit of difference in the totals. There is no technology no policing strategy that is going to stop this mayhem. It's up to the residents, if they don't change then nothing changes. I think they have already proven that there not going to change.
In any event even if the number goes north of 600,700, or 800 the guy is going to keep his job, that is if he wants it.

So think about this. They already blame the police so give them something real to blame the police about. Won't take many looters shot that the looting stops. How about justice for the shop owners? Predict once the looters have exhausted the stores inventories they will turn to home invasions. Lots of booty in those "nice neighborhoods". What you gonna do when the rioters come for you?
As crazy as this year is going, a power outage during a heat wave isn't inconceivable. If that happens we are looking at murder victims stacked up like cordwood!

To answer your question, the last May to post a homicide count over 80 was 1994 with 85. That also happens to be the record. 1992 posted 83 and 1974 put up 82. A few late passings and resolved death investigations and 2020 could take the top spot.

I suspect that you are right on this. It most certainly will be well over 600. Excessive use of force by the police is a real problem in some cities, a minor problem in most other cities. It can never be totally eliminated because of the nature of human beings. Is it always racism when a white officer arrests and has to fight a black man? Only in the eyes of the cop haters and radicals.There are other variables that are never discussed; poor hiring practices, fatigue, anger and frustration over having to engage in a fight in the first place, poor training and leadership, poor working conditions that lead to frustration and resentment.There is no way to justify what happened to the man in Minneapolis, but nothing justifies what happened in cities across the US. And, nothing justifies the poor leadership shown in Chicago by Mayor Lightfoot and Governor JB. I can't entirely blame Brown for this as I suspect his strings were being pulled by the mayor.

My heart breaks for all LE. I'm in my home watching this on tv, while you are out there in the battlefield, fighting for OUR lives. We can never, ever repay you for all that you do for us. It sounds so meaningless to say this, but the Bible says "pray without ceasing" and that's what I've been doing for all LE for 5 days now. The absence of God IS Hell. And LE is out there walking around in it, getting abused, tortured and attacked. Not for their families, but for ALL our families.

Easily. Remember when 2016 was over 700 & the media was silent, but in 2011 when we were just over 500....the murder rate in Chicago was national news. The democrats truly want l just don’t get that more oversight, the lack of understanding about what it takes to be safe on our job & that sometimes use of force is necessary, that more limitations on proactive policing actually hurt minority neighborhoods more than help them. I definitely don’t agree with what I saw in Minneapolis, but there are so many examples of officers getting hurt badly because they lose control of a subject. These fools think they are going to end up with something better if you defund the police? I’m sorry, but as much as George Floyd’s death shouldn’t have happened, I’m not taking a knee. And please if you agree that alt-right groups with racist views are going to help the police situation, you are wrong dead wrong. It exacerbates it.

They figured it at $2K barring any unforseen circumstances.
