- Chicago’s love-hate relationship with electric scooters will resume, but not until the end of the summer because of financial concerns tied to the coronavirus, a top mayoral aide said Friday.
Transportation Commissioner Gia Biagi acknowledged transportation options are needed now, more than ever, as the Chicago economy prepares to partially reopen and mass transit struggles to reassure commuters it’s safe to return to buses and trains.
But Biagi said she cannot wave a “magic wand” and deliver Round Two of Chicago’s grand experiment with electric scooters. The handful of companies expected to be involved in the second pilot still must sort out their shaky finances.
We never did see a report on how many scooters were "disappeared" or ended up in recycling yards. The "shaky finances" could have more to do with Inventory Shrinkage than COVID.

Wonder how many Divvy bikes are missing this morning. But then again who’s working to afford to rent them.
The e-scooter bidness is a racket that imported these dead traps from China, so what happened is that these desktop run businesses are stuck with thousands of scooters sitting in storage lockers because of Larri’s Lockdown and now Larri’s Lootin’s.
And on top of the rent they’re paying for storage, there’s the insurance premiums. This was initially a Rahm Deal tied into the usual cabal of big donors. LightFührer just keeps on racking up the enemies and rightfully so.
Maybe in mid September the dowdy angry toad Der LightFührer will ask the Democrats Natl Comm to consider to re-open Chicago. LightFührer and JB Pigfluenza are that obtuse that they can’t see how they’re being set up by their own.

Some of the looters and general all around pests were riding around yesterday on DIVVY bikes.
Scooters were also used in Portland to break windows downtown during the first night of riots. After that, the mayor banned scooters temporarily, and they were all removed from the streets.
Word is that Gov FatAss took off for Lake Geneva soon after his Friday presser where he said he and his family were staying put.
You can pretty much be assured that whatever he says, the opposite is true.
About the only person with more credibility than him is the strung out crack whore who tells you she cleaning up her act.
Lol. Just spend a day in LA where they have two or three different types of these scooters, you can’t even take a walk without tripping over them laying all around the street and sidewalk. They are more of a nuisance than an assist in transportation!

Plain crazy democrat idea. These "scooters" have been used to break windows and doors in the recent riots where they have been present.
In Salt Lake they were using the scooters to throw at the police. Guess they had to resort to scooters if they had no skate boards.
It's a good time for our elected officials to be worried about scooters in out city...

For every scooter rider that is run over by a "driving texter", a biker gets his wings.
How is a multi-use scooter, left on the sidewalk, up a tree, touched by 10,000 people, pissed on by dogs, run over by rats any cleaner than the cesspool of an L-station, or never cleaned Bus?
I suspect the companies said "fuck this bullshit" after dealing with Dude, Inc. and now have a GREAT excuse to walk away...
Besides, who the hell implements a summertime transportation method at the end of the summer? Dummies.
There would have been that many more weapons handy to use to bust windows with.

Scooters being used here as convenient window smashing implements. And sometimes as a weapon.

Escooters are unsafe and a waste of time and money. Recycle them or let them rust at John Austin Greenfield's house. 😑
