I visited my kid's class one day for parent shadow day or something bullshit "see us teach your kid day" at Lake View high school. My kid and I agreed I wouldn't let on what I did for a living in trade I could speak up on what they were discussing in her class. (Just so you know, Lake View gets 77% of their kids from outside their area as a neighborhood school, majority Hispanic)
It turns out I was going to be in one class, the Honors Spanish class where 95% Hispanics, my daughter and another girl were discussing DIBS and saving your spot after you shovel snow. The majority of class said no and to ban DIBS and of course I was in opposition as I know what work is.
I asked them permission to speak. Then, I asked all of them, including the student teacher leading the class that if any of them had ever had a job. Only my daughter and two other kids raised their hands. The student teacher said no.
Next, I asked if any of them had ever shoveled out a parking spot either for themselves or someone they lived with. Everyone, including my daughter and the student teacher, said no.
My answer was you never shoveled or had a job yet you think you're entitled to something? How do you expect to buy things when you're on your own as you can't depend on your parents and the government forever?
I shut them all up and it got uncomfortable as I said all of you want to go to school for free, not work, and then expect to walk into management positions after college and it ain't gonna happen.
The looks on the brainwashed kids, student teacher, and teacher were priceless. Many visibly upset kids. Somewhere down the line with them being brainwashed, their liberal fuck teachers forget to tell they would be accountable for massive amounts of student loans and start from the bottom up in the work field.
Even my wishy washy daughter laughed at her classmates.

I hate to say it..........parents can only raise them properly while they live in the home. Once they hit college, the liberal thinktank takes control and everything goes sideways. Hate to say it but even private schools are full of liberal leftist radicals. The teacher at Trinity, who teaches women's studies is forcing her class to write in a daily log, positive things about BLM. The FOP scholarship is a drawing the winners of the drawing must be ENROLLED in a college or trade school . The winner can not be in high school . The drawing is held in Nov or Dec and the winner has to have been ENROLLED for the fall semester and have proof he/ she will be Enrolled in the spring. The “scholarship “ is a one time 1000.00 dollar payment. Not renewed but the student may enter their name for a chance to win for the following year . I just learned how many people are not police on this board or have never read an FOP newsletter or attended a meeting . So if this girl attends Marist she doesn’t get a scholarship from FOP . BTW the winners pick up the checks at the January meeting .

This is true to a point. I've had the pleasure of being a youth officer in 008 and 022. I have had issues with Police and Fire kids but when I met their parents I understood. These are usually the PO's who stay down on jobs, hit the medical all the time, and just give us all a bad name.
It may have been peer-group pressure. Keep in mind a large part of their peer group is their teachers.
Name them, shame them. Silence is violence!
Dad, of GM, It’s called Tough Love. If it’s true what the prior post states that she only brought back one sign and refused to do the rest, then dad you need to have her arrested and be accountable for her crime, since she doesn’t want to give the rest of the signs back.

For future scholarships the student should write an essay with a title , "A Positive Police Experience". After the essay is read and approved the students parents will be sent an application to be included in the raffle. Scholarships should have caveats attached and many do. All these assholes who hate trump didn't send the 1200.00 covid check back. This young lady is entitled to her opinion but it seems foolish for her to be getting a scholarship from our union if she hates police officers. She should get a scholarship from blm instead.
Turns out that there are a few cases in 22 and not all from one kid but a few cops kids were part of this. One thing for certain is that Marist was the school not CPS. A bunch of cancel culture cops on here - kind of pathetic. No matter what you think, it’s stupid teenaged pranks. Yes, they should know better. No, it should not be this big of a deal.

Lake View isn't so bad. My kid says the worst thing are the jerk security guards always hitting on the girls. She says some Larry douche is the worst. Some 40-something prick that has a full grown kid and still thinks he's 19.

I let this goof Jadine Chou some CPS head of security know and it was almost as bad as yelling representative into the phone. She pointed me in every direction but herself and handling things herself. Now I know why CPS puts her in front of reporters, she spins it and confuses the hell out of people. It's no wonder these kids are going on dates with teachers and security.

Just saying, my kid won the scholarship and he is now a suburban Sgt. So thanks FOP I got to stay home from special or side jobs a couple of days and spend them with my kids! It's a good program but like everything things happen sometimes
