So a number of Districts and Units are seeing a big uptick in positive COVID tests.
The common denominator?
- Training
Seems there is a link among people who have attended training at off-site locations or the Academy, they take the virus back to the Districts/Units and suddenly, Medical Roll use is skyrocketing.
And even though the Department has pointed this out to Groot, she has threatened everyone that if the next Consent Decree compliance numbers aren't "significantly" better, heads will roll among the command staff.

I’m no conspiracy theorist, but I would not put sabotage past this Mayor. What possible reason is there for telling employees they must report to a school to do remote learning? We could easily do that from the safety of our homes and if for some reason, an officer does not have a computer at home, they could do it safely from a designated area in the Unit they work in. Teachers can’t report to school to conduct their classes, but we are put into a strange environment around other officers we aren’t usually around. Smells like she wants us to get sick.
If Covid-19 is such a deadly virus and so many cpd employees are getting sick, shouldn’t everyone who’s been in contact with those infected be in quarantine?

Police Academy Is A Disaster
At training at the police academy, no one is wearing s mask. I asked for a mask one day and they told me "sorry, we ran out of masks". We are confined to a room with no windows. 30 to 50 people in a room. No social distancing. I saw the gym was full of people working out and officers even bring their kids to the gym. The basketball ball court is usually full. Plus we have the physical training test set up. This is a fucking disaster.
Mickey the cleaning lady said the city cut the contract with a cleaning company that sanitized the academy. Mickey can only do so much.
Also we have a lot of recruits and a few have symptoms but they desperately need the job. So they will come to work sick.

Department of Water Management Central District has about 300 employees that work out of that location. The infection rate there alone is about 50%. When the Dept of Health calls the people infected and tries to contact tract they tell them they got it at work in a city bldg or city truck. Dept. of Health literally hangs up the phone. If anyone has ever been in this facility then you would know you are safer using the yard as the restroom than the restrooms themself. As a civilian, I say FU groot and would encourage you to go to one of the questionable free testing sites and see if you contracted the virus. You probably won't feel sick but you will have it. I had it a month ago and I had no symptoms and didn't tell anyone except my family but I did keep my distance when it came to her in-laws. I wear a mask and do all the things they ask me but honestly it's one of those things that you can work your way through. Took some NiQual, Vitamin C, and it went away.
It's a more serious version of the flu but if you are healthy it is pretty easy to overcome. By reading this blog I really have a lot of empathy for the police. I try to put myself in your shoes and I just couldn't do it. The job is hard enough as it is but you have the mayor of all people working against you. A few years ago, I saved a kid who drowned in a pool while on spring break. I dragged his body from the bottom of the pool and then proceeded to give mouth to mouth and he came back to life. I'm not the hero type, not a good swimmer, but someone was dying and I just did it.
What I remember the most is the adrenaline rush and massive crash afterwards. My wife looked at me and she saw my face go white and I felt so depleted and kept asking her "What the hell just happened" and I really wanted some booze to calm my nerves.
A week later a radio station calls me up and wants me to tell my story and I pointed out my respect for what the police officers do on a daily basis, tapping into this adrenaline reservour day in and day out to answers calls.
Most people really never tap into that little sack of adrenaline in their bodies because it is like something under glass that says "Break only in case of Emergency" because that is the place where you need that superhuman strength to lift the car off your kids foot.
To me, you guys working the beat in the hood, are Super Heroes. I would be a straight up alcoholic if I did your job because I don't have your toughness. For all these activists hating on the cops, they should be forced to go on ride alongs as part of their community service or whatever (if anything) they get when they are arrested. Once again our FOP is useless. I got assigned to training at south shore this week. I called the union to see what I should do because I don’t feel safe going to training. It’s been three days and I have received no word from this joke of a union. I talked to a lady who told me the union is closed due to Covid until further notice and that someone would call me back. I’m still waiting. Does anyone know about this training? Do we have to attend if it’s at south shore?🇺🇸

The Hunter Biden story is real and scary to the Democratic Party. The response of Twitter and Facebook was censorship and to shut it all down. Major media companies also imposed a virtual blackout on these allegations. It didn't matter that thousands of emails were available for review or that the Bidens did not directly address the material. It was all declared to be fake news.
The tech companies' actions are an outrageous example of open censorship and bias. It shows how private companies effectively can become state media working for one party. They use the same excuse of "protecting" the public from distractions or distortions. Indeed, it was the realization of political and academic calls that have been building for years.
Censorship is a huge part of the success of Communist/Socialism regimes. Think about how Lightfoot and JB are treating you. You are treated like children, who don't know right from wrong and they are imposing these COVID restrictions to "protect" you just like Big Tech is doing to the country.
Indiana for instance, has reported higher numbers (who knows the validity of these numbers anyway) of COVID cases and positivity rate (an easily manipulated data point) but the Republican governor calmly takes the heat and goes about his business without rolling back like Illinois. The people of Indiana appreciate this trust and self-govern themselves to get through this pandemic. Pritzker and Lightfoot on the other hand seem eager to roll back to Stage 3 again and impose more stay-at-home measures.
However this election turns out, the general public of Illinois are tired and broken. In Indiana, we have hope. Schools are open and the kids are playing football and volleyball and we are on the path to recovery. We accept things as is but it is a reassuring feeling to have leadership that trusts us and provides us with a realistic framework to proceed.
When I look at JB's 5 stage plan, the final stage is unattainable. It literally says little or no new cases and a proven and widely available vaccine. Those legalize words of "proven" "widely available" literally could mean anything. I feel sorry for you all living in Illinois where you were never given hope throughout this pandemic.
My son and daughter have played more games against children from Illinois than they have ever in the past. We have met so many great people from Illinois and you all seem so spent. Traveling to all these games so far away is taxing but you do it for your kids and we embrace you for doing it.
Judging by what I am seeing in the news, you are going backwards fast. Your state tests too much it really is unnecessary. There might be some financial incentive built into the way for COVID money is distributed but I don't know. Being Illinois, I don't doubt it. At the end of all this, Illinois will probably have over 8 million tests. That is a lot of money going to someone.
The police officers from Chicago I have met at sporting events recently are great people and you are always welcome here. Don't worry about any of the propaganda about COVID on the news, we all take it with a grain of salt. The Governor understands what is going on and he doesn't buckle to the activists and unlike JB who just listens to the "science" our governor listens to the people. In the end, that's all you really want from politicians is to listen, be fair, and give the people a little respect and trust they we will do the right thing.

Police Academy Is A Disaster
At training at the police academy, no one is wearing s mask. I asked for a mask one day and they told me "sorry, we ran out of masks". We are confined to a room with no windows. 30 to 50 people in a room. No social distancing. I saw the gym was full of people working out and officers even bring their kids to the gym. The basketball ball court is usually full. Plus we have the physical training test set up. This is a fucking disaster.
Mickey the cleaning lady said the city cut the contract with a cleaning company that sanitized the academy. Mickey can only do so much.
Also we have a lot of recruits and a few have symptoms but they desperately need the job. So they will come to work sick.

Jelly Belly and Groot are planning their own October Surprise by boosting the COVID numbers to close down voting sites to deter voters in conservative zip codes. Hopefully you have held off mailing in a vote and have decided to vote in person. If you have not already voted in person, monitor your voting location for last minute changes due to staffing or safety requirements.
JB has mandated to all businesses and voting locations to fill out proposals to ensure safety. If the paperwork is not submitted or if you don't dot your i's and cross your t's they can refuse allowing you to open. As a small business owner, we understand the politics of Illinois and double check our paperwork.
But for polling stations where it is a network of volunteers, the paperwork might not be double checked. Rumors have also swirled that the documents are never sent never arrive or arrive so late that they don't make their deadlines. Highly illegal and unethical but judging by what is taking place, you can get away with anything if it to oust Trump. All you need to do if you are caught is whip out your Trump Card and you get a pass.
The whole city was on lockdown, nobody allowed in any schools, restaurants, businesses but yet they still made us go to these bullshit classes. It just shows you that the city not only doesn’t care about the police, but actually wishes Ill will on them.

The city found a way for hundreds of thousands of kids to e-learn everyday, but they can’t find a way to do it for their police? Why can’t we log into a zoom class and learn from there? Why make us drive all the way to olive Harvey for a 6am class when we don’t get off work till midnight the night before. At most getting 4 hours sleep.
Is there anywhere to check public data bases where all these news cases of COVID have mysteriously come out of? U of I are taking 2-3 saliva tests a week as well as other universities so if these students don't care why is the state getting punished.

I don't get activists today. So they are basically protesting for more government, more control, less thinking. Wasn't the whole idea of protest back in the day to "fight the man, the power, the government" to be free and independant and live the American way. If the Socialists have there way, yeah everyone will get free stuff, healthcare, education, etc., but it will be subpar education (community college and limited funds) hospital care will be with questionable doctors and long lines.
Think about it. What has your experience been like at the DMV? Not picture the same workers and people for every conceivable service. The rich and politically connected don't care, they will do what they always do and won't understand the people and will only pay lip service to your problems in the year of election.

In addition, what about the long term I'll effects, and they are discovering more every day. We haven't had a pandemic like this recently, this is contagious and can be dangerous. I agree with the remote learning. We can use a computer in the station. In addition, they still want us to use their equipment, and one place the instructors did not have to wear masks. That's not safe yikes.

Fun fact, I had a five day suspension some time ago, and the front office handed down days I had to serve(couldn't use comp time) they scheduled me for training on my suspension days, I had to point that out to them. And as for the lost money, I more than made that up with the mandatory of 12 hr days rdos cancelled.

Word to the Wise: Check your voting stations early and see if it is open. I've been hearing some rumors about last minute closures of polling locations, probably in Republican areas, due to lack of poll workers or not enough people. The plan is to close some sites outright or re-route voters a distance away and preferably in areas you normally don't go to if you know what I mean.
Check your voting locations on Monday November 2 and check in the morning of the 3rd and make sure everything is up and running. COVID fear is there cover for changing the rules. By the end of this week all of Illinois will be back to Stage 3, I think Monday they will be making the announcement. In the next week, you should be receiving several pieces of mail from different governmental agencies (i.e. Jesse White - Sec. of State) The terminology used is there to confuse people about the requested mail in ballots and received mail in ballots. These letters will be used as a common defense in case people are caught in the act of double voting. Something in the way of a class action suit will protect this illegal process and no felonies will be administered.
If you receive these letters, review them and take a look at the language. Straightforward for most people but the targeted group are people who would be willing to take the chance because hitting them with a felony would be systemically wrong.
The way the fraud is going to work will be dictated on how close the election is. If Trump wins by a landslide on November 3, the fraud becomes more complicated but still within reason. The Biden campaign is working the phones and on the ground in key battleground states. Before the election, they will know who has voted (not who they voted for) but through basic demographic information you can assess who they voted for. Pennsylvania is going to be key because they have a 3 way window to get additional Democratic votes if it is still too close to call. No post mark is needed so the ground game will be important to get everything signed and validated. These last minute votes are the ones that need to be counted and validated by the right people and to not be scrutinized by state officials.
If the election becomes contentious, everything is in play. Election fraud, Russian interference, systemic racism, voter suppression - all of it will be in play and very orchestrated and coordinated. Whistle blowers about Republican interference has already been planned on and different scenarios have been considered.
When these votes are getting counted you need to stand up. Don't get caught up in the name game just stand up for honesty and transparency. If you can volunteer, please sign up today. We always need substitutes and extra people working. If it is raining, bring extra umbrellas so people don't turn away in mass. Be prepared to wait. Don't believe the fear that the media will ratchet up as we approach November 3.

Police Academy Is A Disaster
At training at the police academy, no one is wearing s mask. I asked for a mask one day and they told me "sorry, we ran out of masks". We are confined to a room with no windows. 30 to 50 people in a room. No social distancing. I saw the gym was full of people working out and officers even bring their kids to the gym. The basketball ball court is usually full. Plus we have the physical training test set up. This is a fucking disaster.
Mickey the cleaning lady said the city cut the contract with a cleaning company that sanitized the academy. Mickey can only do so much.
Also we have a lot of recruits and a few have symptoms but they desperately need the job. So they will come to work sick.

You can call me what you want, but giving a swab of your DNA, and your drivers license and contact info and phone number, you are giving private companies and government access to your DNA which will be used against you 5 or 10 or 15 years from now. I wouldn't get a test for the life of me, or let my family members do it. We didn't know what DNA was 20 years ago, and now it's putting people in prison and death penalty. Don't trust the government and perfect stranger private companies with giving them your COVID swabs. Officers working 1st watch have to go to Harvey college for training at 8am. Get out at 430pm, 1hr drive back home (for northsiders) and have to be back at work 10pm. We have to eat, shower and sleep in between those few hours. This is bullshit. I'm surprised more people don't go on medical. They need offer training during first watch.
That other class on belmont, everyone was fucking coughing and sneezing. Wtf. Are they setting up for a lot of us to get sick so that 12 hr days and rdo's cancelled prevail along with maybe furlos as well

FYI, I know a girl who called the medical section with covid symptoms and was mandatory quarantined at home for 12 days...despite a negative test result. The Med Section would not release her before hand. And, you have to be symptom free for three days or you can't be released at all.
Well, a guy who confirmed for it from training after the contract tracing tracked it back to training was just put on a ventilator this morning. He’s 56 and has COPD and diabetes. It is NOT looking good at all. This could have all been avoided but they are pushing training. This was at the DCO training. If he passes, the family needs to immediately sue the pants off this department and city.

I worked for a big utility company. We would have safety meetings all the time. These would occur in the morning, and would stretch out into an hour or more, the whole time the days work would get backed up because of the delay. This causes everyone on the crew to try and make up for the lost time. Then we had a series of clock resets that cumulated with some guy getting himself killed. The super threw his hands up after that, called another meeting and said, "it looks like every time we have a safety meeting someone get hurt right after." Yeah you dumb fuck, that's exactly what happens. Your safety meetings are killing people. They should do that shit on the internet where you can watch it at your leisure, but the Safety Department is more important than actually safety. Here's how you can tell it's bullshit; are your instructors fat slobs? Probably a waste of time then.

Detective Areas are getting hit with a second wave of the virus. Friends in area one say they have a few on the medical and a simple wipe down of their desk magically clears it of the virus. Area Four is no better with one hundred going to training a day as of two weeks ago only to bring it back to the area and causing several people from days and afternoons to already hit the medical. Not sure of any in first watch yet but then again they only have about 12 people on midnights there anyway
