It is not worth the extra money to be an FTO. Trying to train these opinionated new police is a joke. They will give you a bad review as thier training officer and you really can't fail them. They simply give them to another FTO and look at you as the problem. This program in Chicago is a failure.

Definitely agree, the new kids on the block have their faces buried into their phones,playing games,texting paying zero attention to anything,all about themselves oh and the new jeep requirement when you get hired. They dream of plain clothes that punisher tattoo and decal on that jeep, telling all the little girls made up war stories. the women dream of working inside,take home car,working days holidays and weekends off,just like Eddies girl did but then was mad she did not get that promotion the casting couch of CPD is crowded get a seat!
Sure sounds like a hostile workplace environment to me.

Never met a good fto anyway. The ones that “trained” me were job dodging bums and sat on jobs for as long as possible, forcing other cars to pick up their slack. When I got off status same damn thing, the ftos are the bums on the watch and have to pick up their slack. They just want the extra time and the choice of their district. When you hold jobs and dodge others, you’re only ducking with other cars on the watch.
The good FTOs will be the first to tell the new kid "don't listen to this superintendent, he was brought here by Lightfoot to destroy us, because she hates us. He'll be gone soon." "Didn't they teach you that at the academy?"

Sounds like you got screwed with no lube. Did my cycles in 024,025 and 015, in that time learned more then I did from the clowns teaching at the academy. With those districts all my FTO’s made rank.
