Mag Mile Shelter Hotel
A boutique hotel right off the Magnificent Mile in Streeterville is becoming a new city shelter, this time “not for asylum-seekers” but for Chicago’s unhoused, according to the city.
The move to turn the Selina Chicago, at 100 E. Chestnut St., into a shelter comes as hundreds of Chicagoans sleep on the streets, thousands of migrants remain unhoused at police stations, and tension over what goes to which group has prompted citywide squabbles.
“We’re trying to care for all people,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson’s press secretary Ronnie Reese. “It’s about providing unhoused Chicagoans with a warm place to stay during the winter months.”
This isn't for illegals, but rather the regular run-of-the-mill homeless. within two blocks of Water Tower Place, 900 North Michigan, Oak Street boutiques and dozens of other big name retailers - many boarded up.
So what connected company got this contract to house upwards of one-hundred homeless?
- It will be staffed by Equitable Social Solutions, a Kentucky-based company, according to the Illinois Secretary of State database.
BJ couldn't even find a crooked Chicago company to keep the the dollars here in town?

Trust that our newly hatched puppet mayor has done as he has been told to do.
So evidently Vanecko Housing Inc wasn’t available at the time.
Wow, that's a prime location.
The big story here is that a hotel in that area can't make it and is converted into a homeless shelter.
From a tax generator to a tax drain.
Chicago, moving in the right direction.
The hotel owner has probably realized he is never going to ever use the hotel rooms for normal customers ever again. Just strip out everything valuable, and accept everything inside will be destroyed.
The street may come back from the dead, but it will not in my lifetime or my yours.
Company's probably owned by some Chicago-based communist... have no fear, fat envelopes are here!
When did "piss bum" become "unhoused"?
Hotel Selina Chicago is just waving the white flag.
Do-gooders can seem to do enough to fuck something up, whether it be a place, program, or a city and expect the taxpayers to foot the bill for a solution to a problem that the do-gooders created. I’ve come to doubt that Chicago has a chance to save itself from the caring loving compassionate tolerant liberal radical agenda of controlling the lives of people, of telling people how they should act, live, and think. And to further control and ruin the lives of people, through the removal of any independent thought as what should be ingested-food, drugs, and beverage.
Most homeless people avoid using shelters, too many rules. That area will still have plenty of them around. But the shelter will add to the neighborhood vibe when Dollar Tree leases an entire floor at Water Tower Place.
They need to stop already with the migrants and Illegals. Just send them back. We can barely afford to live ourselves.
just wow!!
Oh not fishy at all. All these contracts for the illegals going to out of state companies.
Take a look on Bizapedia
https://www.bizapedia.com/dc/equitable-social-solutions-llc.html
Then click on the company contact names one by one. You'll find more ties to different LLC than the grifter in the white house AND, AND how long has this company been around like since the covid pandemic. That's kinda interesting.
citywide squabbles lmfao
Gaza and Israel a citywide squabble
Ukraine and Russia citywide squabble
It's all about borders right?
squabble /skwŏb′əl/
intransitive verb
To engage in a bad-tempered argument, often over a trivial matter; bicker. synonym: argue.
To contend for superiority in an unseemly manner; to scuffle; to struggle; to wrangle; to quarrel.
To debate peevishly; to dispute.
Similar: dispute
Should use this word more in our reports. Spending $1.3 million dollars a day and that sim is ever increasing is "trivial"
From the river to the lake brandon says let them eat cake!
Keep them away from the 'Ville. We have our own issues.
The death spiral is accelerating at an astounding rate. Great work socialist liberals!
And.....the current workers have all been laid off. How is that fair?
Lice, bed bugs, and mysterious bodily fluids on your $400.00 sheets. Most of the employees had already been fired so the out of state contractor can bring in his own 'EMERGEMNCY" staff.
A few "Tips" spread around city hall works wonders
BJ couldn't even find a crooked Chicago company to keep the the dollars here in town?
The more layers you have between you and the eventual kick back "campaign contribution" the better. It's the Chicago way...
Hotel couldn't make it with paying clientele.
018 is going downhill so fast, It's going to be like Uptown in the 70s.
Will be interesting to see progressive 4th Presbyterian Church congregation's reaction to homeless migrants constant milling-about church property. Talk about having your "woke" values exercised on your front lawn and with your own facilities.
That said, BJ administration seems hell-bent on destroying all remaining "upscale" aspects of Michigan Avenue "Magnificent Mile" retail corridor, perhaps intentionally creating a 3rd-world atmosphere of beggars and sidewalk camping, open-air drinking and drug-use, unfettered muggings and purse-snatchings, smash-and-grab and mob shoplifting, et al. Already demonstrated that a fair number of these military-age young "recently-arriving migrant" men are not law-abiding "family fathers", nor seeking to better lives of their accompanying families.
Foresee Mag Mile becoming Madison Avenue retail strip in Lawndale, or North Avenue in Austin. And no, I'm not "Racist", just a practical person who sees rapid decline of Chicago's remaining prestige tourist area.
Set up camp at the Dailey Center. Lots of room for tents
There is nothing merciful about rewarding people for bad life decisions. All you are doing is enabling these people to slowly commit suicide, albeit in a nice hotel room.
A lot of people reading this blog have dealt with these homeless people and know they need help with substance abuse problems and/or mental health issues. You can't force them to get help.
If you read further down in the article, the hotel fired long time employees, Chicago residents, so this contracted company could bring in their own staff.

Agreed sanctuary state-city-county but with a cowardly mayor scared brandon all of these criminals are dumped in chiraq! Did jelly belly payoff brandon already? Was it biden? Is this why biden is coming to ruin the city today maybe a pallet load of cash like barry gave billions the same way to Iran a terrorist nation? Why are the suburbs the liberals that support this not getting loads of them shipped there? The people stood up and what happened in the 12th ward? the dictator mayor has the place surrounded with police (That could be better used on the streets not providing security for the criminals new camp)! Looks like a nazi hitler type of place! With all the empty schools available brandon does not want to upset his masters who bought the election for him so he does this!
Why not the empty county jail cells could be apartments, they have toilets, showers, food execise yard built in gated community why not?
Time is past due to un-elect this mayor over this un-housed bullshit. Chicago would be much better off mayor-less or is it un-mayored?
Kids they are spending over $1.33 million dollar a DAY of taxpayers money on these illegals! Wait till the credit card / charges / bills come due. You don't feel it yet but you will -- TAXES!
Chicago dictators had to raise our taxes, raise fines, raise fees, raise traffic ticket prices, raise parking, gasoline taxes, skip pension payments, close schools, hospitals, close mental health clinics etc.. because we had no money and we were told that it was necessary! Then BOOM illegal immigrants flown in and it's like money grows on trees!
Chicago cabal HEAD MASTER MIND DICTATOR'S real estate transfer tax is estimated to generate $160 million a year in new revenue OR TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY ONLY ABOUT 4 MONTHS OF WHAT IS CURRENTLY BEING SPENT ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.
Hall of Fame NFL coach Mike Ditka sells Chicago home for $575K
Commercial Properties Would Bear The Brunt Of Transfer Tax Increase, New UChicago Analysis Shows
Sales of nonresidential properties would account for about 75% of the increased revenue generated by the Bring Chicago Home real estate transfer tax set to go before voters in March, according to an analysis released this week by researchers at the University of Chicago.
The analysis estimates the tax will raise revenue by about $160M per year on average
Wait so Chicago is spending $1.33 million A DAY on illegal immigrants. AND 448 N LaSalle is totally empty. WeWork leased 62,000 sq/ft in that building for $2.4 MILLIONS ANNUALLY and is getting evicted.
Juxtaposed BJ signed a SIX MONTH contract for the Brighton Park tent base concentration camp for approx. $3.3 MILLION FOR SIX MONTHS! For 2,000 illegals
Let's see. 62,000 sq ft/ 2000 illegals (B.P tent camp capacity) == 31 sq/ft to put up a cot per migrant in the WeWork space AND there is more space in the building as it is EMPTY
WeWork slapped with eviction suit by LaSalle Street landlord
River North building at the center of multiple lawsuits involving CA Ventures could become totally vacant
An entity controlled by Javors that owns the 12-story, 172,000-square-foot asset at 448 North LaSalle is suing to evict WeWork, alleging it’s behind on nearly $300,000 in rent, according to a complaint filed late last month in Cook County court.
The co-working firm — which is seeking bankruptcy protection in a bid to reorganize certain office leases across the globe after its valuation got clobbered by investors leading up to its initial public offering in 2021 — opened a 62,000-square-foot space in the Javors-owned building on a 15-year lease set to run through 2036. Its rents started at $2.4 million annually in the first year and grew to $3.4 million in the final year, the lawsuit shows.

The historic corruption trial of former Chicago Alderman Edward Burke has been delayed at least a week after one of the defense lawyers tested positive for COVID-19 overnight, the judge said Thursday,
Reminds me of Obama a week or so ago suddenly conveniently coming down with "covid like" symptoms when he blew off his appearance at Harvard as there just so happen to have students protesting for Gaza at the same time
Bally's Falling Revenues Already
With the betting window closed on the first full month of operation at Bally’s temporary (winterized base camp? lol) casino, the Medinah Temple site raked in more than $7.6 million in October, a 12% DECLINE in average daily revenue compared to its first few weeks.
well behind city tax revenue projections of $12.9 mil by lightfoot for Chicago’s desperately underfunded police and firefighter pensions. Bally's has contributed close to $1.5 mil in taxes
Ballys experience a 20% decline in visitors initially 3,347/day to 2,681 in Oct.
BJ insisted on Bally's responsibility to "continue to do it's part to market. and to encourage, and to deliver"
Therefore instead of shutting down between hours of 4 am to 8 am Bally intends to go round the clock.
Should be fun times. When the 4 am bars closed everyone can go to Ballys! Woo-Hoo!
Cue Al Czervik ... "What a waste of prime real estate."
Welcome to the Magnificent Madison Mile - and the city was voted best in the Midwest, and best in the bla bla bla.... More media bullshit in their never-ending supply of lies for low information voters, socialist, demo rats, liberals, thug like aldermen/women and other general run-of-the-mill criminals.
Everyone knows the killing fields of murder city are busy as ever and crime - well "crime is down". Thats what BJ is saying and he's right as rain. He knows there are only two things that are legitimate in the city: pro wrestling and CPD statistics. A Barry always says, "Its settled science".

This is going to be a regular shelter. Think Pacific Garden North.
Would love to see the illegals take over Maggie Daley Park with their tents of junk & unwashed bodies. What a fall from grace & a nightmare for the Chicago-loving Daley family that would become…
Perhaps Governor Billionaire Pritzker’s Hyatt Hotel chain will be the next franchise to fire their long time devoted employees & replace them with ‘migrant oriented’ staffers? That way, the illegals under his hotel roof can easily transition to American hospitality jobs right in front of them. Surely the bleeding heart Hyatt owners will pay the work permit dreamers the required $18 dollars of minimum wage required?!?
