New Category of Crime
The only place for real crime stats:
- Prosecutors have charged a 52-year-old man with critically injuring a woman on the Magnificent Mile this week, according to a Chicago police media statement. Bruce Diamond, 52, will appear for a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon on a charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
During his hearing, officials will reveal more information about what happened outside the Burberry store, 633 North Michigan. Here’s what we know so far:
A 23-year-old woman was on the Mag Mile around 2:10 p.m. Monday when someone struck her in the head with a large object, rendering her unconscious. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Police said Diamond “threw a large object” at the woman. A source familiar with the investigation said the object was a log. Chicago cops assigned to patrol Michigan Avenue took Diamond into custody almost immediately.
And who was the victim?
- Citing preliminary information, the source said the woman was believed to be a flight attendant who was shopping while on a layover in Chicago.

Speaking of crime categories and weapons used, is it true that the FBI has removed hands/fists/feet as weapons under UCR reporting?
It seems that so many more people die from injuries involving those weapons than they do from firearms, and that fact wasn't sitting well for the desired narrative.
Was it the Log, from the Ren and Stimpy show?

So burning question is where did log appear on Mag Mile. Or was perp carding it with him from the ghetto.
Is attempted murder no longer a crime category? There is zero hope, and it's not even gotten bad bad yet. My daughter in law is living over there. In my opinion, the current political group is purposely depressing property values over there to snap up cheap. There can be no other explanation for the decision making.
Praying she is ok after this attack by the savage which is everywhere in this crime filled city! Another visitor maimed, how many have visited and then a trip to the hospital or morgue before they leave? Statistics surely are kept would that be in a "secret" log book? Brandon what say you?
