Rumor has it Andre Kersten was at PO Huesca’s wake and was asked to leave. You can only act like this for a short time before Karma comes knocking. I am a true believer in Karma and this clown has a boat load of bad things coming her way.

It makes me sick how these media talking heads pretend to be sad when an officer gets murdered. They just love to pile on and stoke the flames of racial rhetoric when it suits their needs or narrative. We don’t need your crocodile tears or faux sympathy.

“Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza said the officer's family requested that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson not appear at the funeral. The mayor's office released his schedule indicating he plans to attend.

Funeral services will get underway at 10 a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel. Officer Huesca will be laid to rest at Rosehill Cemetery. You can watch the funeral live on ABC7 on the air and our streaming platforms”

My late Grandfather, several other family members and friends already there, will greet you upon your arrival, Officer Huesca.
Rest in Peace…

Retired, 30+

From Tribune “ Huesca’s wake was held Sunday. During the service, the slain officer’s family told Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza — whose brother is a CPD officer — that they did not want Mayor Brandon Johnson to attend Monday’s funeral service. Johnson’s current and former chiefs of staff could be seen in attendance, though.”

I’m glad the family did that.

What a sad day for this Officer’s family and friends. But what a proud day for Chicago! In spite of all the obstacles each of you face as you do your job, you still put on the uniform, still wear it with honor and dignity. I won’t claim to ever be able to imagine what you all go through on a daily basis, but thank you for serving and protecting the people of Chicago (and all the surrounding communities). You are loved and appreciated, even when it may feel like you are not. Heavenly Father, please bless and protect the men and women in blue.

Yea, I’m in the class. They said CPD already committed to the Feds. It was a financial decision. However, losing that money for this would have been the better decision!
They did allow the AM class to come to the PM class so everyone could attend the services. We appreciate that FFO.

Did the Area Deputy & Detective Lts. Get around to going to this part of the hero officers week???? Still can’t believe they didn’t show up to the scene. Sometimes Mgmt. makes a boneheaded move, other times they are just selfish A-holes! Prayers to the family. Maybe the FOP can start hiring security at these sad moments W/ a list of do not allow inside? I’m curious did the head ahole in charge show up? I only caught the end of the services during my lunch.

Such as WFLD-Channel 32's Anita Blanton who was reporting outside the Blake-Lamb funeral home this morning for Police Officer Luis Huesca's funeral. She offered information that was unnecessary. God bless Officer Luis Huesca and his family.

3 Louisiana Officers shot yesterday.

3 Charlotte Officers shot, 1 US Marshal KIA today.

Let’s be safe out there.

Lots of road ISP Troops feel the same about not wanting politicians at our bed side, wake or funerals.

More importantly we just don’t want the bosses near us or our families.

For they are solely responsible for the destruction of ISP and morale.

Not balls. Not bravery. Hubris.

Over the years, I worked along side of many, many brave police officers who had an unmeasureable amount of testicular or ovarian fortitude which was used wisely and regularly over the course of their careers in an effort to serve to the best of their ability. Donning the uniform, patrolling our streets and keeping the peace amidst dangerous and/or deadly circumstances qualifies all past and present police officers as everyday, unsung heroes. Groot and Kersten are not worthy to kiss the feet of even one of them.

RIP Officer Luis Huesca. You were a hero long before your ultimate sacrifice. God bless you and your family.

sincerest prayers for Officer Luis Huesca, his family, and to all officers and their families. Unimaginable loss.

Politicians have no standing.

Just an ordinary citizen here mourning the loss of an officer, a son, an outstanding person who should have have a full life.

RIP.

It’s absolutely sickening how few CPD coppers showed up for the funeral today. And don’t give any bs about having to attend FF training as an excuse not to show. Where were all the First and Third Watch officers? Pathetic turnout. Those of you that didn’t attend because you don’t want to wear your dress blues or stand through the service should be ashamed of yourselves. We are supposed to be a blue family. Family supports each other, especially in their time of need.

The funeral, what a beautiful tribute to Officer Luis. As a viewer, I do appreciate and cherish the details each speaker provided of Luis life. Obviously, this young man was raised right, as were his siblings. A testament to the parents.
May God bless and watch over Luis and his family.

Retired here and live out of the country. I watched the service and it was a beautiful tribute to a fine officer taken to soon. As usual, it brought tears to my eyes as it does every time I hear the news of an officer making the ultimate sacrifice. Unfortunately, later in the day I heard the horrible news of the four officers in North Caroline being killed while serving a warrant. More tears. I will be in DC in a couple weeks to honor all of those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice, and we will Never Forget.

I was surprised at the low attendance. I remember when I started 20+ years ago that EVERYONE available went to the funeral. No excuses unless ill. Get a babysitter. Go without sleep. Get over yourself. It is a small sacrafice to make for someone who lost their lives for this job. I admit now that I am older, standing outside for a few hours really is physically draining and difficult. But I am alive, and they are not. A few hours of my time is worth showing my respects and if it is ever me, I hope others would do the same. A friend told me that some of the younger officers were heard saying they were not going if they were not on duty or getting paid. WHAT?! I really hope that is not true. Sometimes we are all we have. Be there for each other and show support.

Sadly we are seeing the effects of a generation that was ALWAYS given participation trophies!! The assholes holding the universities “hostage” want no retaliation, no suspensions, no sanctions at all for breaking the law. We can do whatever we want & at the end we always get a trophy!! I noticed how few officers were there for the service. I was in DeKalb a few weeks ago & there were cops from all over but every deputy not in a needed detail was there. The ISP ran the offices. Other deputies from other counties worked the jail so every DeKalb Deputy could attend the services. I read above that some of the younger officers weren’t going because they weren’t getting paid or ordered too. Again a whole generation of lost people who just want to show up do their 20% & get their trophy. Where I work we can’t get ANYONE to work & you should listen to the youngsters when you tell them they are being held over. Whining & bitching while making time & 1/2??? I worked my hours I wanna go home & get my trophy. When I played sports I only got a trophy when we won divisions or the title. We would fall over each other trying to grab the OT. No trophies just satisfaction of a job well done & the respect of my fellow employees. I wouldn’t want to be the guy who didn’t show for a line of duty death. I would have quit the job 1st. I’m stealing a line from the keesing bandit: NO TROPHIES FOR YOU BAD BOYS & GIRLS!
