Good Idea?
We think it's the start of a good idea:
- In recent years, unofficial street parties celebrating Mexico’s
Independence Day have surged in popularity: car caravans clog the Loop
with bumper-to-bumper traffic as people dance in the streets, drivers do
burnouts, and an orchestra of car horns fills the air.
[...] Now, there’s another plan—a plan to host a two-day Mexican Independence Day festival in Grant Park. The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Mexican Consulate in Chicago are proposing the idea, which Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) revealed in his weekly newsletter on Friday.
Organizers say Choose Chicago and the state support the event, which will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 14 and 15. According to a promotional flyer, the festival will include food, “family fun,” arts and crafts, live music and performances at the Petrillo Bandshell, and “some of the best Margaritas in town.”
This should be the pattern for ALL parades and big festivals moving forward. Once it hits a certain point, becomes a certain size, has a certain number of parade units / floats, then it goes down to Grant Park and travels down Columbus Drive. The advantages are monstrous:
- the staging area becomes Solidarity Drive for floats and parade units;
- easy storage of the iron fencing for crowd control;
- tons of paid parking - all money in the city coffers;
- one single route for clean-up, so less muss, less fuss, less Streets and San OT
Think about the regular parades calendared years in advance. Set a price for the permit, set manpower numbers for Traffic Aides, require certain numbers of security personnel paid for by the parade committee.
You could even work in the usual bribes and graft that follow these events.
UPDATE: We forgot to mention this, but with a single authorized parade / festival, then ALL other "celebrations" and street takeovers are now illegal. Politicians can hide behind the "....but there was an authorized celebration on...." while the Department comes up with a plan to take back the streets.

If only certain groups could celebrate their independence or whatever the fuck without destroying property, shooting guns, fucking up traffic, and being a general nuisance, maybe the rest of us would appreciate their "culture" more. Why do certain groups have to celebrate their culture by committing crimes and bothering everyone who isn't the same race/nationality as them? Ironic that they all choose to celebrate their freedom and independence and greatness in another country, rather than in the one they praise as the best. Ironic that they march around condemning America, while abusing the freedom granted by living here, and knowing they would never return to the shithole they came from. If you want to celebrate your heritage, do so peacefully and within the confines of the law. If you can't do that, you don't deserve the freedom you've been given.

We get ONE day for 4th of July! ONE Day and no festival or concert in Grant Park & No Parade. When’s the last time Chicago had a 4th of July Parade- you know to celebrate the country we live in & got our Independence? As for food & fun, well the taste of Chicago that coincided with it got moved and shortened because shitheads ruined it.
Seriously? You think a parade and festival will stop all the asshole behaviors? Fuck that- this ain’t Mexico.

Oh good, I want to see the videos of 10:05 PM as the event shuts down after guzzling overpriced Margaritas since 10:00 A.M. Think of the crescendo of all those handguns going off as the event expires in a traditional southern salute (and I thought those firefights in nam were loud).
And at 10 pm each night when the festivities end all the revellers will return home to their neighborhoods and be in bed by 1045 pm. Great idea.

This idea isn't going to make a bit of difference to these assholes. The whole point to them is to disrupt traffic and cause mayhem, it's part of the attraction for them. Sure you might get some families that want to celebrate properly in Grant Park, but my money says this idea will go no where with the little assholes

It’s nice to celebrate your heritage once a year. Plop a record from the old country on the turntable, have a party and reminisce, but this is getting out of hand. Foreign flags flying on cars and in front of homes, for days, weeks on end, and some permanently. If you are that attached to that flag and country, and think that place is so grand, go back there and make that place your home because that is where your heart is. The way many real American (no hyphen necessary) citizens view your actions it’s as if you are an invading force, and only fomenting dissension in the country.

The plan has been in motion for a long time, Bathhouse Barry’s installation was the plan going public, and she devil Hillary was supposed to put the final nails in the coffin but Orange man and the people threw a wrench into their plans in 2016. He should have locked all of the treasonous bastards up when he had a chance.
The republic wasn’t defeated by a conventional army that has breached our borders, we weren’t defeated by a stronger, smarter foe in a kinetic battle, our own government was infiltrated by socialists and communists and they put in place policies that have brought about this downfall. I think the Saxons are awakening to this now. Kipling peered into the future.

If you want to celebrate Mexican Independence Day - go back down to Mexico and do that.

Taking our exceptional Constitutional Republic for granted thus required, more than anything, a wake the fuck up experience beyond the worst, utterly too fucking late, and yet not that much better.
Stubborn as people are, they are most stubborn in refusing to face their own faults.
Trump is not our substitute for our own resolves.
We, the actual people who have enjoyed our founders's exceptional Constitutional Republic, are the debters being now challenged with paying our debt, by being as so many seem to be, no longer reluctant to face ourselves.
And by doing all that Trump is doing, all that many, now more than before, are tasting the poisons of everything not Constitutional Republic consistent.
There is no fault in Trump's not being able, then, to do our work for us. Trump accomplished so much more to expose the feckless, most of all in compelling them to expose themselves so egregiously, that no one can claim that they do not see what is right in their faces, down their throats and being shoved up their asses. Not one.

Emotionally, perhaps so.
Yet, Constitutionally, not quite there.
The frauds committed in 2020, the heinous manipulatings of the planned panic demic, the following three plus years of the continuations of the obamanation's feckless actions, the aniticipations of said actions being now experienced as increasingly clearly what they are, and are intended to induce, the ambition to create an immense ball of confusion to cover their attempt at, as one buddy of Pinky says, "To try to take over the world!!!!", may prove out to require such.
Still, our Constitution, as the rekiabke reference for our nation's exceptionality, does provide the options which can be utilized to avoid this.
