Pandering Again
Before we cite the article we'd just like to make an announcement to all the black people in Chicago:
- You aren't getting reparations. Ever. It's a political ploy to "buy" your vote....except you'll never see a dime. Reparations are paid to survivors of an atrocity, not six or ten generation out. Any effort to dish out taxpayer money will be met by massive lawsuits, which will delay and diminish any expected cash. Not to mention that Illinois was never a slave holding state and in fact sent tens of thousands of troops to put an end to the entire thing.
That being said, here's another dumb idea by Conehead to attempt to shore up his dwindling voter base:
- The city on Monday issued a formal apology to Black Chicagoans for
the harm that slavery, Jim Crow laws and present-day policies have had
on them and their descendants.
The acknowledgement is included in Executive Order 2024-1, signed by Mayor Brandon Johnson, creating a “Reparations Task Force to develop a Black Reparations Agenda” that will ultimately offer recommendations on remedies to the polices that have harmed African Americans in Chicago for generations. He previously earmarked $500,000 in the city budget to study the issues.
“Today’s Executive Order is not just a public declaration; it is a pledge to shape the future of our city by confronting the legacy of inequity that has plagued Chicago for far too long,” Johnson, the city’s third Black mayor, said in a statement.
We're all for apologies. Sorry about what happened to your ancestors as perpetrated by someone else's ancestors way back in the history books. Our personal ancestors were busy making love, war and business a few thousand miles away on another continent.
Moving on, this is a money grab for an unaccountable, unelected "task force" to read history books and tell the "aggrieved" that "By golly, you deserve a boatload of money you never earned! Vote for us and we'll make some vague promises to pay you somewhere down the road with money we don't have and/or doesn't exist."
Note that WGN points out how racist Chicago is by having three black mayors, when it's actually four of last seven - they always forget Eugene Sawyer's year-and-a-half - along with sixty or eighty black aldercreatures since the turn of the last century.

Well I should be exempt from having to pay reparations. My family came to the US after 1900 from a war torn country in Europe and when they got here they had nothing but the clothes they had on, let alone enough money to travel down south and buy slaves. Cross me off the list Conehead.

I saw a video of a CPD sergeant surrounded by teenagers as he is trying to detain a teenage girl. A short Mexican kid approached him from behind and punched him on the back of his head and run away. A bunch of those teenage offenders surround him and back up arrives to help the sergeant out.

Cartoons and movie's are being remade with black characters. Hispanics make up a larger majority of the US population but you wouldn't know it watching today's media.
It was absolutely hilarious watching San Francisco go through this exercise in pandering, at huge expense. The result? Millions were spent on a bunch of race hustling grifters demanding each black person get a cool 5 million dollars. The city and state realized that much money was impossible to come up with so they said forget it. The media promptly forgot about it and everyone laughed.
It'll be a real hoot watching the REAL race hustling grifters running Chicago show their west coast pals how it's done.

When I became a new detective, I was working on an aggravated robbery pattern and some of the cases were a few months old or more. Several black victims seemed disturbed by me coming to their residence for another interview and asking them to look at some photos. I was told "That's ancient history" who wants to bring that up? Thank goodness the Sun-Times finally revealed the truth, that the CTA is forcing people to leave Chicago. I thought is was my white privilege. I guess the fact that I paid $9000 per year in property taxes, $9000 per year in Catholic grade school tuition $24,000 per year for St. Ignatius and $48,000 per year for. Jesuit college while paying $1100 per month out my Streets and Sand pension for health insurance was the reason Chicago is going down the tubes. But I am not to blame.
So I will enjoy my Stroh's and Arturo Guente in my backyard.

This emotion-stoked project never seems to address the enormous physical and emotional costs this country incurred to free black people from slavery. We are the only country in the world whose citizens fought each other in a terrible, bloody civil war to end that evil.
Further, most truly affected black people always fail to account for the full value of economic and preference benefits the country has provided them in modern America as well as the value of being a citizen here.
Lastly, most conveniently forget or ignore that the vast majority of white Americans and their ancestors never owned slaves, never engaged in racial prejudice, and have desired nothing more than for this to be one country. The value of those and additional relevant considerations need to be properly estimated and disclosed before any serious public discussion of this subject can result.
How about an apology and reparations from all the folks who have ruined this city.

It is worth reading up on but what started out as one case of one black farmer allegedly getting poor service from a USDA office turned in to a huge settlement for any black or later hispanic farmer who claimed the USDA was mean to them.

As you might expect the hood storefront lawyers toured the black churches saying "Reparations are here! Come get yours."
No evidence that you actually ever had visited a USDA office was required.
Soon you didn't even need to actually have a farm.
Some hispanic congressman got mad that "his people" weren't getting in on the grift and demanded it be expanded to cover them to.
That was done and even more non farmers who never went to the USDA got their payouts.
One black woman claimed her grandfather on his death bed mentioned being treated badly by the USDA and that was enough for free money.
That is the level of "proof" it took to get in on this scam and RFK Jr. wants to dump more money on that bond fire?
No reparations without repatriation.
It would be worth it to pay a lump sum and provide air fare to another county to minority groups that claim the white man is holding them down.
Once you are gone that is it.
No changing your mind and coming back.
No sending your kids over here and having them send you money.
If we could do that and get a handle on immigration (I like the "Go Home. We Are Full!" plan myself) we would be saving money in one generation.
This would start to undo the damage done by Hart-Cellar.
