Cops Out of Schools

Finally pulled the trigger - no pun intended:

  • Chicago Public Schools officials finalized a new security plan Thursday, officially eliminating police officers from school buildings while focusing instead on holistic discipline and safety strategies.

The Chicago Board of Education unanimously approved a new whole school safety plan, which brings to an end the use of school resource officers (SROs) inside district buildings following a yearslong review of CPS safety protocols and procedures.

“By prioritizing and centering the voices of our students and everything we do when it comes to safety, plus the community engagement ongoing with all of our stakeholders — our parents, community members, our staff and our administrators — we believe this is how we’re going to keep schools safe,” CPS Chief of Safety and Security Jadine Chou said Thursday.

Really? "...holistic discipline..."

We'd guess more like a hologram....as in completely imaginary.

  • District officials have said the new framework is built around three main pillars of holistic safety: the physical safety of students and staff, emotional safety and relational trust.

“How our students feel welcomed every day, how they feel comfortable in the building and how they build relationships with the adults in their building,” Chou said. “We believe that the district can and will take school safety with this new policy to an entirely new level by doing all these three things together.”

That policy will be implemented in phases through a tiered criteria based on each school’s use of exclusionary disciplinary practices such as out-of-school suspensions and police notifications, with a focus on the disproportionate application of those actions.

This is going to be interesting.

Hey Larritorious? A proposal for you.

  • Come out with a policy after the convention and before school starts. CPS doesn't want cops in the schools, then CPS doesn't get cops in the schools. Ever. CPS "security" can handle each and every disturbance inside and once they make a determination about what laws they're going to follow, they will bring offenders out to the cops waiting outside, in cuffs and with an escort to go through processing in the case of juveniles.

Time to step up and make them live by their rules, thereby protecting the jobs of the men and women that you lead.

In a program that they have started called “YASI” youth assessment screening instrument.

Its over 30 questions that this program has detectives asking

You do see the irony of all this- the same officers from the department of “boogeymen” that CPS

That is an excellent idea SCC. The police should not enter the school as it might deeply disturb the Marxist indoctrination studies. Bring them to the curb for any service. The garbage truck workers don’t come into your house for pick ups. It’s curb or alley service.

In all honesty, who cares? How many times do we read in the comments, cops constantly shitting on other cops and calling for the SRO’s to be back out on the street anyway, suckhole unit, they don’t do anything, blah blah blah. Now that it’s official and that manpower will go back onto the street (in theory), it’s a complaint. Let the city have a major incident and no cops are on site to immediately aid or stop it. Let CPS explain it themselves. Let the city continue to fuck itself into oblivion with terrible decisions.

Officers should’ve been out of schools. It’s too much liability. Officers should be thinking more about self preservation. Why would you want to deal with ignorant parents, break up fist fights and gang wars each day? The school administration is not going to back you in court or at COPA. Principals are not allowing their employees days off to attend court.
you’re on your own! Besides, schools are not utilizing officers properly. They use officers to hold parent conferences, to sit inside of lunchrooms while teachers take their lunch breaks and to escort students to their residence. Officers are being used as babysitters. Each schoo has a budget, let them pay for security.

The indoctrination camps should have parents, maybe they can then look into the indoctrination methods, and God willing speak against what they are doing to ruin the future for generations! Indoctrinating the children to trans nonsense, and telling kids police are causes for many maladies. As far as police they get same response as we are short handed slow roll, wait for back-up because the childruns are not like before they are animals with the savage training! when have you heard of a certain group of 11-16 years old doing so much felonious crimes? Don't get yourself into the trick bag. Whoa wait a minute how many coppers with the boats, taking big vacations driving those jacked up jeeps and dodge rams., with deep tints send their kids to public indoctrination centers? P was off...I mean CPD doesn't know your job description read your handbook smh! Everything was a police matter we had to nip it in the bud..we were counselors, a shoulder to cry on, legal help, mentors etc...Security....was just there to collect and was de-balled by the new liberal principal and the off-duty's (our only real backup and resource) quit and was run out by the principal. I asked security at the metal detectors one day after watching the max red go off every other student and asked were you trained? His response naw just on the wand but not the big machine we just kinda stop who we want....Parents praised us for being there and the trouble makers vowed to "tear this MF up" if we were taken out of the school.....and this was at a supposedly decent CPS school. kids were having sex in the basement/stairwells in front of the camera, old students coming back to rob and fight current students, teachers got slammed...just for starters....yeah I can't wait to see CPS handle it I have my popcorn....(RET.)

What on earth is “holistic discipline?”

Fine. Replace school officers with social workers and make the kids feel “safe and welcomed” at school. I’m sure the next teacher who is assaulted by a 6’ tall 200 lb middle schooler will be much happier having a social worker respond to her screams for help because she knows that the yute beating her will not be made to feel “demonized” or “unwelcome” by a mean old cop pulling him off and cuffing him. You know that CTU asked for this so they should be responsible for the crime that results.

Of course, I’m reasonably sure that part of the “holistic discipline” will be not reporting the crimes that occur in the schools. That way CPS can say that under their new approach crime has decreased dramatically. And pay no attention to the bruised and bloodied teachers laying in the halls. At least the “chillins” are happy.

There is a huge difference between Roman and Irish Catholicism. A true Irish Catholic must not just confess, but earn his way back into God's graces, not by prayer or fasting, but through his actions. That is how a real Irish Catholic repents. But first and foremost, don't commit the sin to begin with, and I know that's not how things are in an imperfect world, but I've witnessed Roman Catholics actually state "It's ok if we do this--as long as we ask for forgiveness we will be forgiven"!! The Irish Men I know would be appalled at that statement as am I. Karma is for real, and the Lord pays attention!!

In Wyoming we have a police offices located in the schools from Jr High and up. The same policeman is assigned for extended periods, years in some cases. They are more trusted councillors than law enforcement officers. We don't have much trouble in Wyoming school, at least not like a place like Chicago. What happens is because this officer is trusted young people with problems come to him to report child abuse at home, bullying at school, drugs, that sort of thing.

Actually, this is a great idea. Similar to private security. They can hold the prisoners then call for a pickup. Make out the case report and arrest report, transport the idiot to the lock up or youth. "R/O has no further knowledge of this incident." Done! More street officers.

There is no culpability for the police when this idea explodes in their faces. It will be sad for the victims of both the bad guys and these virtue signalers. Oh, I do wonder what color sky is in their world. Lie an associate once said: Look, Point, Laugh and Leave!

And of course it costs money for a “certification.” So, do u think the city paid for all processing det’s to be certified? No, of course not. The D-unit fought this but the Chief (who’s never been a Detective, worked as a Sgt, Lt, Cmdr or Dep Chief in the D-Unit) has pushed it through.

This was shoved through under the last administration under Larry Lightfoot and continued under mayor panic attack. Social Agencies like LCLC want to paint the Police as evil but at the same time push the social work on the Youth Dets. It's a win win for libs as they can blame the Police for not "vetting" a at risk youth properly and claim they had nothing to do with little Johnny who killed someone the day after he was arrested. These lib Social agencies just cash the city's checks, keep juvenile criminals on the street, and waste millions in taxpayers money. Liberal suck.

Meanwhile - the city of chicago is requiring that detectives “interview” non- violent juvenile offenders
In a program that they have started called “YASI” youth assessment screening instrument.

Its over 30 questions that this program has detectives asking
( example: home life, drug use, family structure) in an effort to get them
City and family services.

So, are you saying that the Yasi Program failed at Juvy Probation and the Chief of Detectives thought that it would be a good idea to implement it here? Is it true that the program requires SVU Detectives to ask minors about their sexual life? So Chief Ursitti who has never processed a juvenile (or anyone else) didn’t take the advice of detectives that do it daily?

They will call the Commander and ask for cars at dismissal and special attention! We all know the Commander will send the cars because they don't want to hear from the Alderman.

So CPS makes the Police out to be the problem while getting Police service at the same time.

Cool, can we now get rid of the school sgt spot along with the other useless 2nd watch management spots? CAPs sgt, SDSC sgt, CR sgt when there are 3-5 “backups” who also manage to close CRs without a 2nd watch admin spot. God forbid any of these positions go unstaffed so there isn’t only 1 field sgt working on 3rd & 1st watch.

It’s not just non-violent crimes. Not even close. Pull a knife on an old lady, threaten her, punch her in the face a snatch her purse =YASI. Ursitti showed just how unqualified she is with this program. She should be fired for this move. Not to mention there is absolutely no manpower to cover this disaster. Who’s her clout???

If the police are completely out of CPS schools, does that mean a Prosser Career Academy HS Assistant Principal needs to step down as well?

Yes, a CPS Assistant Principal is also an active Chicago cop.

The AP is also a CPD detective and draws a combined $275K in salaries plus CPD OT.

Sro's were one of the laziest - if not laziest officers; definitely least redy to protect kids in case of a mass shooting. Security will handle the job just fine.

If you are a teacher I applaud your observations!
Every district has them. Daddy or Mommy were on the job and now it's the son's or daughter's turn to milk the CPD tit. Where do these chosen ones go? Chicago Schools!

No responding to 10-1's.
No calls for service.
No violent domestics.
No roll call or checkoff.

^I did not sign up to be any of that.

How is a Christian saved? By good works and deeds? Confessing to a man in a wooden box? None of the above. There is only one way to achieve the Lords forgiveness, and it isn't by any of these. Hint...it has already been done for you, you just have to accept and have faith.

More money for dumber kids...I wonder how "good" those principals and teachers feel when they see those kids at a graduation ceremony receiving a diploma when they can't even read.

So, presuming that you accepted and that you have faith, and that you have achived the lord's forgiveness, and, presuming that you are, thusly, saved, and presuming you value your being saved, what thence do you do? And what, thence, do you not do?

Hint... You know the answers to these two questions, do you not?

In Wyoming we have a police officer located in the schools from Jr High and up...this officer is trusted young people with problems come to him to report child abuse at home, bullying at school, drugs, that sort of thing.

*****************
Indeed...but these are such strange times that comparing Wyoming to Chicago, IL is like comparing two different nations. Two different realities in fact. A school police officer may stop an active shooter but is no match for the woke mind-virus and the far-left school boards and teachers that propagate it. Watch your back friend...those teachers from Seattle, San Fran, Houston and Chicago are coming out your way. This is spreading at an alarming rate. Truly evil.

So if they answer yes, they've been sexually abused, who cuts the new paper and takes the juvenile to the hospital? And how does it work with the detective being the outcry witness?

I would love to see the deal the assistant principal/detective worked out with the department to work both jobs. Assistant Principals work 50-65 hrs/week. Detectives can work that and more. Let's not forget court time that takes places during school hours.
