Here’s the million dollar question. The warrant was a traffic violation and as all Chicago coppers know the department won’t hold an out of county traffic warrant other than a DUI or driving while license suspended or revoked. If this guy’s license was suspended or revoked , was he assigned a take home car ? Seems to be a lot of liability for the city if a person who has had his driving privileges suspended or revoked driving a city car.

Theres a reason credit checks are a part of many background checks for certain jobs. If you can’t handle a basic understanding of how finances works it’s a sure sign you’re going to be piss poor at it on a larger scale and are also more likely open to corruption. But people like BJ are used to spending others money and never being accountable for their own. When you know people with high end cars or spending tens of thousands on watches etc but every essential in their lives: utilities, school loans etc is being deferred- well that’s someone you don’t want handling tax payer money.

The warrant arrest was done by CPD. I’d go out on a limb and say you’d still notify IG on an outside warrant arrest made in the city.
