Another Conehead Success
So a few years ago, the NYSE bought the Chicago Stock Exchange and renamed it NYSE Chicago.
Now, they're moving the entire operation to Texas:
The New York Stock Exchange announced Wednesday morning it would move its Chicago branch to Dallas and call it NYSE Texas.
"Pending the effectiveness of regulatory filings, NYSE Chicago will reincorporate in Texas and be renamed NYSE Texas, offering companies the opportunity to list their securities on NYSE Texas," said the NYSE in a statement.
So how much in corporate taxes is this going to short Conehead's budget?

This will be the end of the south of the river area. It was almost dead, now it will be a complete ghost town. Pure devastation. Lots of people lived all around there, those will be for sale or for rent soon with nobody wanting to move in.. no reason to move in now. It will all go low income or mixed income. This is not good. And it will also cost about 210 million a year or more to the city in fees and taxes..
Nice going BITCH.
If this was Germany they would do a search warrant on me in the morning:

No problem, they will sell phones and vap's there now...So what.
This is nothing. Just wait till the CME group packs up and moves to Texas or Miami.
Didn't either Chicago or Illinois want to tax every single transaction that passed through that exchange? Did that ever pass?
And the decision to move has nothing to do with unfettered crime, a terrible business climate downtown, and high taxes-state/county/city. No, the reason for the move is because the NYSE corporate officers are racist.
Forget the corporate taxes - the entire North Shore just evaporated. Virtually everyone there is some kind of trader, a lawyer representing traders, a doctor taking care of traders, an architect building houses for traders, an uber/limo driver dealing with traders, or a businessman who makes avid use of traders...
None of those people need to be there if the Traders aren't there. Everyone's moving to Texas! Less taxes, less regulations, virtually NO DEMOCRATS and those bullshit "Hate has no home here!" signs...
Hellinois is done.
They longer want to deal with the oversight of this city.
Governor Pritzker forgot to mention that in his speech the other day.
I sure he'll want to take credit for that with his balanced budget.
Hard to believe we have a governor as bad a our mayor.
Thank the Democrats!
This was a shot at Pritzker
Ah, the new Detroit we've become.
Yep. Lost another one.
Said before and will say it again get out while you can. Chicago is chigetto.
Yep average price for a house in Detroit $5000.00. Coming soon to Chicago.
Destroying the economic stability of the city must be a planned event, unless they are just stupid.
Didn't Lori want to put section 8 down there in the area.
nothing to worry about,,,, the chicago democRAT politicians will declare they want to build another casino to generate more tax revenue,,,, it will just take 20 years to build
Yes. Every mayor sine Rahm proposed that. Apparently they took these threats seriously
Just the scent of that possibly coming ought to be enough to send them packing.
>>>>Everyone's moving to Texas!
Including clueless Califirnians, who will then try their best to ruin Texas, too.
Heard on the street Obama is moving library to Texas.
The policing of free speech is something that liberals would love to do here . They want to remove and did have "disinformation" from the internet removed or suppressed as seen during the covid era by the Biden administration who wants to save democracy, pressured social media companies to remove "disinformation." The liberal mantra is "free speech for me but not for thee."
And of course when Vance called out the free speech issue in Germany, the usual democratic crowd went off their rocker.

No. Richie m Daley suggested it. He was told by the exchange they could/would relocate over a weekend. Someone did the arithmetic for Richie. The city would lose multi millions from taxes end bars, restaurants, department store, etc would disappear.
Just borrow more money. Problem solved.
Businesses leave to stay competitive and grow, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois do not afford this. A big indicator of this is the NYSE moving the Chicago branch to a red state.
When you have one of the worst public school systems, which is unable to provide a well educated workforce, why would businesses stay or come here.
I’m sure the exodus will continue, United Airlines has already begun to lay the groundwork to leave for Colorado.
Always remember, Fat @$$ didn’t earn his billions, it is family money.
the north dallas/ fort worth texas area is booming billions of dollars in new contruction
No thank the Republics that can't seem to get their act together. The Democrats are terrible in Illinois, but the Republics are just as bad.
There haven’t been in real life traders since 2016
The stars at night are BIG and BRIGHT.
The Chicago Stock Exchange had been shrinking since the 90s, and by the time NYSE bought it in 2018 I think had fewer than 100 employees. I believe many of those jobs were eliminated or moved elsewhere, so it likely has a very small footprint in the city. What the name change from NYSE Chicago to NYSE Texas says to me though is that having "Chicago" in your name doesn't help your brand. In the mid-90s that exchange renamed itself from the Midwest Stock Exchange to the Chicago Stock Exchange to highlight its long history in the city. That was when Chicago still commanded respect for its financial market chops and innovation and as a vibrant place to live, start businesses, and do business. No more, and that's the saddest thing to me about this.
