Cops Injured
Seven people, including two police officers, were taken to the hospital following a crash late Sunday night on Chicago’s West Side.
According to police, a marked CPD squad car with its lights and sirens on, was traveling southbound in the 400 block of South Cicero Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. when it hit a gray Hyundai sedan that was turning southbound onto Cicero Avenue.
After the initial crash, the squad car then subsequently hit a black Hyundai SUV traveling northbound on Cicero Avenue. The gray Hyundai subsequently hit a Red GMC SUV traveling northbound on Cicero, according to investigators.
Police said two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Five people inside the black Hyundai SUV were taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Of all the injuries we had over the years, the ones that bug us most in retirement are the ones from the car accidents.

OT but traffic related. Read about a bicycle accident down where a man was driving thru a green light and was struck by a person on a bicycle. Case was investigated by CPD and it was determined the driver was going thru the green light and the bicyclist ran a red light and struck the SUV. They the driver of the SUV a ticket for fail to yield or striking a pedestrian depending on what article your read. Why was he given a ticket? The bicyclist ran the red red light and struck his SUV
Maybe the coppers didn’t clear the intersection the way they’re supposed to? Tunnel vision? Hyper vigilance? Get over yourself. The police aren’t always in the right and do things the best way
All these exempts would still be in blue shirts being dogs if it wasn’t for merit. That’s why we need to push to get rid of it. Need to start FOIA requesting these merit nominations rank scores on the test as well, push it to reporter William kelly and other outlets so this can get covered. Remember when they would publish the ranked score next to the merit on the list? Why did they get rid of that? Let them be embarrassed. Others spend thousand dollars and countless hours of time to prepare and study. Most miss it by a few 100 out…. If merit wasn’t in place those ppl would make it. Merit is the main recipe for disaster in this department.

One really solid T-Bone made me put on my seat belt ALL THE TIME! My Sgt was riding with us in 011 once, light turns green and I went after a 2 second pause and we got t-boned. Our Sgt was a little weird from that point on as he was thrown around pretty good. Put your seat belts on!

They're wrong and it'll be dismissed when he shows up with a lawyer. I've written cyclists before and in court I make sure they know the amount of damage they caused on the car they hit so it isn't dismissed.

In other cop news from CWB, Ex cop Jacqueline Villasenor to serve six years and four months in prison for killing her cop husband. But Villasenor is expected to serve only one week behind bars as she accumulated 1,162 days of credit. So she does 3 years for ending a life forever. Great system. He should have just moved out and divorced her.

It’s not about getting dismissed in court. It should never had been written. Guy gets lawyers fees, hit on insurance and aggravation about court case. Seems Chicago is the only one that does that, suburbs just say no ticket issue
