Another SAFE-T Story
It used to be DuPage was a bastion of Law and Order, but that was years and years ago. Now it's just another shithole where everyone gets bail:
The man charged with trying to kill a Chicago police officer by striking the cop with his car during a traffic stop was on felony pretrial release in DuPage County, according to court records.
Malcolm Harris, 40, was detained this week by Judge James Murphy III, about two weeks after he allegedly struck the officer with a pickup truck.
The cop, who has been on the force for almost two years, stopped Harris in an alley behind the 4700 block of West Madison on May 3, officials said. Harris tried to drive away from the stop, but CPD units boxed him in.
Remember when bail meant something?

I remember locking up a shoplifter years ago. He said he'd never shoplift in Du Page county again - they held him from his arrest until his trial date.
The Cook county disease has spread. SAFE-T is several nails in the coffin to law & order, but the communists' intent is to destroy America, so that should be no surprise.
You voted for this, Du Page.
Remember Piggy Pigster said it was unfair to keep people locked up because they can't afford to make bail. Dupage County is getting an outbreak of AWFLitis.
Thank Gov FatAss and his Shitcago Democrats!
Hmmm, wonder why DuPage changed? Sarc
It is hard to remember that.
DuPage County is turning mostly democrat and for the most part will become a shit hole just like other democratic areas.
then didn't "box him in" that's against General Orders LOL how ridiculious our rules of engagement are really
Get out of Illinois is the answer to all of this. California, New York and Illinois are all the same crap.
Keep paying your taxes for more stupid things to come
Yep....Gov. DeSantis from Florida was asked why his state is so successful...his response "Well, I look at Illinois, New York and California....and do the opposite". Well said...
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — State representatives passed legislation Friday to allow anyone charged with their first weapon-related offense to apply for a FOID card while they participate in a pretrial detention program.
Current state law allows nonviolent offenders charged with their first offense to participate in divergence programs such as the First Time Weapons Offense Program in Chicago. Upon completion, the state's attorney dismisses the charges, but the individual cannot apply for a FOID card until after charges are dismissed. Rep. Justin Slaughter (D-Chicago) said his plan can allow eligible first time offenders to apply for a FOID card much earlier
All of the current requirements for legal gun ownership in Illinois would remain the same. Sponsors explained the Illinois State Police would also have the ability to deny someone's application for a FOID card if they are ineligible.
"It expands access to rehabilitation while upholding gun safety laws, maintains law enforcement oversight, strengthens public safety through legal compliance, and ultimately reduces recidivism and supports successful reintegration," Slaughter said Senate Bill 1899 passed out of the House on a 97-11 vote. The measure now moves back to the Senate on concurrence due to an amendment. It previously gained unanimous support in the Senate.
"Many people in diversion programs are young adults who deserve a second chance to move forward," said Sen. Elgie Sims (D-Chicago). "Pathways to restoration are vital to rebuilding lives and build stronger communities."

Absolutely. Got out 4 years ago. Lower taxes, no crime and a much better quality of life.
Nothing new. Been this way before the Safe-T Act as well. I’m surprised charges were even approved with the ridiculous requirements our great states attorney, Bobby B and his wonderful ASAs demand.
Forgot about Colorado
DuPage started voting democrat and Illinois was finished. You can thank goofy women, immigrants, and a useless Republican Party.
I worked in DuPage starting in 1996, Agg DWLR for a DUI got your car seized and 6 years in jail, I shit you not, saw it multiple times.
Some how Oak Brook runs a different show, you run we chase you, we have the hell cat’s too.
Florida is the way to go. Texas and Tennessee right behind.
In the late '70's to mid '80's you could count the number of (Ds) in Lake County on one hand. Now look at it.
